I got messages also from Takhar Group 800-620-0371 insisting I give them my address, phone and SSN (!).  I don't owe them or anyone they represent any money, having lived on a cash basis since the late 1980s.

I was told that they were located in Niagara Falls, NY.  I found that this is a mail drop at a UPS store...see Google Maps for "1623 Military Road Suite 537 Niagara Falls, NY 14304"

Liar. I have been called numerous times for the person who used to have my number. I have had this number for 5+ years and the low life mother f****rs still call me. I tell them that there is no one here by that name but they continue to call. Low life scumbags.

Do not know who they are and not leave a specific message I tell them I do not sound safe.

I get my credit report from all 3 bureaus on the 1st of every year. This year I noticed a BMG negative report on my report and Columbia House on my husband's report. I immediately contacted the bureaus to inform them that these are fraudulent reports and we don't owe either company any money. They removed it, no problem. Suddenly today I get a phone call on my cell from some guy I can barely understand, asking for me.. he has my information. But I don't have any BMG or Columbia House charges! I haven't purchased anything from them in probably 15 years (and they were paid off!). He claimed this purchase was in September 2006 and asked me to fax the letter I got from the credit burueas stating the fraudulent report was removed from my credit report. Yeah no problem but I have a feeling the calls still won't quit. o_O

I think if more people started taking the time to report these people to the Better Business Bureau they'd think a second before trying this.  It's a total scam.

Freak~ what is a "reasonable response" to someone that is trying to scam me out of money?????  And who calls my house repeatedly for a debt that was never incurred?  I am on disability and have migraines.  They call and wake me up constantly.  So please tell me, what would your "reasonable response" be????

We have a really nice feature on our home phone that allows us to block calls like this.  After getting numerous calls from these asshats I blocked their number.  Maybe your system has a feature like this too?  It's worth pulling out the phone manual to find out!!!

This Number keeps popping up now and again, Its my parents phone line, I just live here and have my own cell number.

They keep calling saying that I owe Columbia House money...I never heard directly from CH, but instead would get these putzs who insist they sent me a written statement, which I've never recieved. and have read that many others have gotten the same " we've sent you the statemtent" routine. which they NEVER send. I think what they are doing is looking at peoples CR score and calling them and preying on those who have low scores.

I've told them about a billion times to leave me alone and stop harrassing me and my parents. They did for about 6 months, Just recieved a call from them again today.

This company is repeatedly calling my house to collect a "debt" that was never incurred.  They have also threatened my credit rating.  I have reported them to the BBB.

I received a call from this group today, asking for me using my maiden name. I have not had that name for 10 years now. When I asked them what they wanted, they wouldn't give me an answer. They wanted personal info. I WAS NOT GOING TO GIVE THEM PERSONAL INFO!!! my new married name, address, and such.
They would not tell me what they wanted until I gave them my new name and info. therefore I said can I speak to a supervisor and, they Hung up on me. I feel a Scam , and i will be reporting them.

I received a call from this number with the typical recorded message. Telling me to call them back. I did they knew my name and address and told me that I owed money to bmg music. I haven't bought cds from any music company like that. I told not to call me again. I believe it to be a scam.

They called me again...I didn't answer and they left no message.

Call my phone repeatedly. Last night they called at 11:30! I have four kids and I don't need them awakened by annoying calls!

I received a phone call from 800-620-0371 at 12:38 p.m. today, telling me to call them as soon as possible.or visit their website at www.takhargroup.com.  I called them back and talked to a Clara Watson.  She was telling me I owed a debt of 71.80.  She told me it was a debt to Columbia House from January 2007 and if I didn't pay it my credit would be affected for up to 7 years.  She repeated that a few times and then asked me if I understood that.   I immediately started googling the phone number and found out the company claims to be a debt collection company.  I asked them for proof of the debt and they said the only proof they had was the letter they sent that I never received.  She told me the creditors name was lited on the letter.  Well, I did find the letter on the internet after I signed in with my phone number and zip code.  It was a letter stating I owed a debt of 65.80 but it didn't say to whom.  There was a line for the creditors name but it was left blank.  When I asked her for proof of the debt, she told me to go online and when I told her the line where the creditors name goes was left blank she told me she would email me a copy and call me back later.  Well, I never received the email and then she called me back at 4:38 p.m. and told me the email had been sent BUT I still have never seen it.  I am curious to see what it is that I am suppose to get because she told me it would be on the company letterhead NOT from Columbia House because they didn't have a copy of the original contract.  I told her I was at work and she said she would call me back later.  I thought it was interesting the letter on the internet said 65.80 and she told me 71.80 because there was a $6 charge because it is in the state of New York.  Well, needless to say these people will not be getting my money.

This number called & left a message to call them back about a debt & never really asked for anyone specific at our home.  I called back to see what it was about, I asked what company they were collecting on and they said, Columbia House, whom I said, "Are they even in business, I think this is fake."  I asked for a supperior to talk to to find out a phone number to columbia house, if this was an actual debt??? I then just gave that person a piece of my mind & hung up....Felt scam from get go!

If the Customers co-operate with the Debt Collector,I'm sure they would not create any kind of chaos.A little patient will work instead of aggression o profanity... Hang Up will really not work because you will be called back time and again until they get a reasonable response...

I've been getting calls from this number daily, always at the same time. I'm a high-school student who just got a new number so there's no way they're calling to collect from me. So I called them and told me to remove me from their call list. Let's hope that worked.

I received a recorded call from this number saying it was urgent I return call and then gave me website www.takargroup.com.  I decide to see who or wht they are.  All I found were complaints from different phone numbers for this site

This company is pathetic.....  We had our phone for over 5 years and they still call once in a blue moon for a couple of month which is stupid, we have told them several times we are not the people they are seeking, and they just do not listen.  Maybe if they spend a little money of their own to hire a private investigator, they can find those they are seeking instead of calling OLD phone numbers (which obviously) that has been assigned to new customer because those that owe money took off and probably got their own new numbers to avoid these idiots.  I wish them nothing but the worse in life, we have a baby and it is tough to get her to sleep when they are calling someone we have said no longer have this number.  Wish they would disappear from this planet along with those that are owe money and doesn't take responsible for paying their debt.

I just got off the phone with the second person to call me telling me I ordered books in 2009 from a Literary Guide Book Club web site, and I owe $84.00, a bit of false information. The first person (who started talking after a long, loud noise) stated that I owed for books from Book Span ordered in 2008, also $84.00. Another bit of false information. The first caller would not give a name, contact number, or connect me to a supervisor. She kept insisting I go to web site to check out my account information. I informed her that I am not falling for that scam, and after a few questions that she could not answer for me, I rudely hung up on her. Now, today after the loud noise, my daughter gives me the phone and says it's a call for me. A guy this time, who actually gives me contact information, and the 800 number to call him back on. I did a search with the number and a lot of info on it came up, including this link. I have another number to look up. I know this is a scam. I have not ordered books online until recently, and that was with a gift card from a large book chain. .
