Prerecorded RoboCall. Same scam as noted above. Didn't bother arguing with yet another low-life drone by pressing "1". Point of interest: While these creeps are surely in violation of the DNC list, they will presumably claim that they are exempt due to being a "non-profit organization." WRONG!!!
First, they're lying through their teeth. If they try to make that claim, ask them for their 501C Tax ID number, a.k.a. "Employer Identification Number" (EIN). A 501C organization's EIN is a matter of public record. They'll probably hang up immediately; but if they don't, try to keep them on the line while you do a quick lookup on the IRS website: <http://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/>. Dollars to doughnuts, it will come up bogus.
Second, for that exemption top be applicable, the company ACTUALLY DOING THE CALLING must be a non-profit, not their client. Even if a "legitimate" (yeah, right) non-profit hires a for-profit telemarketing company to do their bidding, the exemption does NOT apply. Which brings us back to the 501(c3) ID number.
Third, it was a ROBO-CALL; so the DNC List, per se, is irrelevant. There is additional long-standing Federal legislation (US Code Title 47, Section 227; a.k.a. "Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991") which makes it ALWAYS illegal to use "a prerecorded or artificial voice" to call a residential telephone number without the prior express permission of the owner of that telephone number. This law pre-dates the DNC List by more than ten years, and was NOT repealed by it.

Same old scam, recorded message about intrest rates. Press #9 to be removed (yeah right), press #1 to talk (goof on) a live person (creep). This time it was a woman (c***), I asked if she would like to suck my big bald c*** then she called me a f****ead & hung up, how rude!

This number call daily and when I answer it they hang up. We are on the do not call list and they keep calling and I can not even reach them to ask it what it is about. What can I do to make it stop?
