A man asked for my husband and when I said he was not home he said he would call back later.  I asked him what was the call in reference to and he hung up on me.

This number has called my roommate too.  We aren't going to answer it...so they should give up.  They must just pick a number and call it because it's our dorm number that she doesn't give out. Annoying scammers.

I work for Bank of America, and this is the customer service number. Its not a scam.

You are being called on an automatic dialer, with numbers provided by bank of america records. We dont call random people.

And if youd listen to what we have to say, youd see that we actually just want to save you some money, at no cost to you.

I just got a call, the caller ID says "800 Service".  The lady was polite saying it is FIA (?) card services. This was not Bank of America unlike Ron said on 6/28/2008. I knew this before I checked because I do NOT have a Bank of America account nor credit card. The lady on the phone said they were calling to offer a CC interest deal. I said no thank you. I hate telemarketers but she was nice enough.  I did not ask to be removed because frankly everyone pays attention but no one is listening and heeding my request, why bother.  I no longer answer typically unless I know the number.  I cannot block annoymous numbers thanks to COMCASTIC! But, I do not have to take the calls anymore.  I only posted this because I dislike that Ron said it was not an automatic dialer, numbers come from Bank of America records.  Perhaps he meant to mention, records they have bought and may resell, if they have not already. Just COMCASTIC! Sad really.  Privacy? The privacy act? Oh, please! It is more like public domain... you are born (today) and there are three things you can count on: you will pay taxes, someone will sell your information and one day you will die.  And, if it is COMCAST, they will charge you fees you never approved and sell your info and then tell you it is policy without documentation, oh, but they corner the market so to them it is ok.  Just Comcastic!

Someone named terry bowles called me from this 800 number the day after I submitted an online student visa plus app from BofA and she requested my information. When it got to my soc sec number i told terry that I would rather go to my banks location to verify that information with them rather than give my soc over the phone. I called my bank who said they would have to use that number to verify the person as an associate but that they couldn't work with my app themselves. I called back the 800 number and was transferred several times and ended up in their credit department. There was no record of someone calling me from this 800 number, and they already had my soc and were sending out my application in 9-10 days. I don't know if there was just a glitch in their system or if this was someone attempting fraud claiming to be from their number. The Terry person had most of the information i'd put onto the application but didn't have my mothers maiden name or my soc. and asked other questions to confirm the information she had. I'm just glad that I didn't give her my soc over the phone. I am a little nervous about this experience.
I learned that they already had my soc after the person in the credit department told me the last four digits of it that I had filed online.

It's funny you telescum want to say you are just trying to make a living "like everyone else".  Most of us make our living without intruding on strangers, I know I do.  And the case made by 'tele marketer' is indicative of these kind of people, you think you can justify making the calls because, once in a while, you come across someone you can actually help?  That doesn't make sense.  My mechanic can come across people he can help, probably at a much greater rate, and he has the sense not to try.  I'm sorry, while you're employed as a telemarketer, you are not "trying to make a living like the rest of us",  you are just plain SCUM.

800-643-2074 is definitely "Card Services" telemarketers. They front for various credit card companies who attempt to sell you things under the credit card's name, such as magazines. They are particularly bad if you've ever made the mistake of buying anything from one of those advertising inserts that come with your monthly statement. Lately, they have been pounding the phones trying to get me to renew McCall Magazine, which still has 8 months to go on my subscription . . .

800-643-2074 called me 9:30am Pacific Time 6/17/08 identifying selves as Working Assets, I expressed skepticism, "manager" identified selves as FIA Card Services.  Had some of my info and tried to get more.  Have notified my bank, changed info and numbers where I could.  I don't think these people are legitimate.

Well post your number so that we can call you during supper time or when you're just too busy to get to the phone so that you'll know what we do for a living.  When you call a cellular phone and use someones minutes (especially after they've asked to be put on the DNC list more than two times or when you call at a bad time numerous times) why should they be nice to you?  The same goes for landlines.  It's no ones fault that they're on a list except for the companies.  They didn't ask to get a call from you, you made the choice to call them.  So quit your job if you do not like no for an answer.

If you are so certain of your opinions, post your home phone numbers.  Myself and some of the others need to call you at supper time and tell you about what WE do for a living and see if you are interested. Based on what you told us, this shouldn't bother you in the least.

If it does bother you, you are normal like us. CHANGE JOBS AND LEAVE US ALONE! If it doesn't bother you, stay off of this forum, we all hate you!

All the phones in our home are cell phones, you are using our shared family minutes. Why do I have to listen? I worked for an insurance company, and I only asked questions on a questionaire. If someone said they weren't interested, I listened and respected that. On the other side, it taught me to never be rude. It's not the caller's fault your name is on the list, it is the company and the caller doesn't desevre the attitude. Again, the caller should respect the called and accept "no, thanks" as an answer.

did a quick search on a couple leads from the original phone number... little info i plucked from the depths of the internet... would be pretty sweet if someone took it a bit further and could tie some of their office numbers with their names... let the company know (repeatedly) about the kind of crap their call centers pull to make sure they make their buck...

30 days to remove your number from the list?
well too bad for them. I would also inform them
that I will Fax them a do not call letter with
time and date of the unwanted call, I will fax them
for every single call for 30 days, waisting their ink,
and repeatedly calling them until it stops.

Marc is completely right.... We hear a beep and say what were paid to say. We are contracted by Banks to make these  phone calls to pre-qualified people. Sure go ahead and get put on the DO NOT CALL LIST.... Its means nothing... If you do business with the bank, any of the credit bureaus or there affiliates your just put back on the list and if I were you I would follow a basic rule....treat the telemarketer that calls your home like the person who cooks your food on a Friday night ...choose to complain and have a big boogie put between the burger and the cheese on your nice meal that you ordered... have the telemarketer reschedule your call for very half an hour for a month straight by the push of only one button.... its your choice be POLITE or be punished... plus its just our job we're people trying to make a living in the world like everyone else. Another piece of advise is to listen what the person has to say before making any final decisions...Say you have $30,000 in credit card debit and your paying 18% like the average American institute charges... these people could actually help you... like say 0% for a year with a go to rate of 10% no balance transfer fee(do the math) you might take the time listen
Yours truly

i understand that calls like this happen...but i think when someone or some company calls you repeatedly - like 20-30 times after you requesting them not to...and you dont have debt or something with them... YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PRESS CRIMINAL HARRASSMANT CHARGES...its total bullsh**..I'M DEALING WITH A COMPANY THAT HAS BEEN CALLING SINCE LAST OCTOBER..NO BS...ASKING FOR A PERSON THAT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST ...EVERY DAY ON THE DAY...NOT ACCEPTABLE...

I actually called the number back and politely asked to be taken off the calling list because we were getting 4 to 5 calls a day. I gave her my husband's and my full name and hell she already had the number. I was polite until she demanded my full address. I really didn't think she needed that to take me off the list. I'm ticked off that you have my phone number so do you really think that I'm going to give you my address.......idiot? I'm still getting the calls though so I guess she showed me!!

We keep getting calls from 8006432074.  They have even called us on Saturday, and yet when I called their number back I get a message that states that I should call during normal business hours.  We have asked them not to call and they are still calling.  What can I do to take legal action against this company?
