telephone is probably a too old tech that should be revised

they call and tell to wait for an agent they say they are bell  they call repeatydly about 5 times a day since two month
is there a way to stop them

and when I answer I get a click and nothing.

Your fed up of this s***? Bell will never understand with words. Send them a letter and mention you will bring them to the court. And I'm not kidding.

My parents received a message for my name with this call back no. and a reference no. I havent lived in more than 20 yrs.  

I called 310-BELL to make sure my account was closed and paid.  They said they had my parents phone umber in their records as a reference and it was a promotional call to offer me Bell services

My parents are elderly, they are on the do-not-call list and getting this message on their answering  machine disturbed them.  It is very low of BELL to resort to this kind of tactics.

What's the least likely way to reach someone with an important message?  The way these guys do!

It's a completely automated message asking for a call back.  They have a voice generator try to read the name, and to give a reference number.  They start the call by insisting "this is not a telemarketing call".  Right.  Idiots.  Nobody in their right mind would ever believe them, and certainly anyone who calls them back to do anything but complain is asking for trouble and worse simply reinforcing the idea that this kind of crap is OK.

Please don't call them back to do anything but complain to them.

They are complete a**es, all of them!

It's Bell Canada collections.  My number (not name) was given as a contact in case a bill was not paid.  They don't verify this information at the point they collect it.

I got this call today on my telus cellphone... i have no dealings with bell and there was no msg left

6h35 am!!!!!!!3 Times and nothing on the line! My phonne account is up to date...I don't know what is this "/$/$?%?k call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Premier appel annonçant un important message «de la part» de Bell Canada et me demandant de faire le «9»; après plus rien que le signal de tonalité.

2.  Deuxième appel avec le même stratagème, mais cette fois après avoir fait le «9», une personne me demande à parler avec une ancienne connaissance qui n'habite pas chez moi.  Elle me dit que cette connaisance a donné mon numéro comme référence et si je voulais bien lui faire un message (numéro à rappeler et numéro de dossier). J'ai dit que je ferai ce message si cette ancienne connaissance me rappelait.  La persone a répondu: «bien sur !».  (Je comprends maintenant ce que ce «bien sur !» voudra dire).

3. Un peu avant 9h00 ce matin, un nouvel appel «important de la part de Bell Canada».  Ça commence...

Nous avons recu 2 fois.. un appel de ce numéro de Bell Tralala..
La premiere fois ils demandaient d'appuyer sur la touche #9 (ce qui ne fut pas fait de notre part).
La seconde fois, nous avons accroché la ligne.. et si nous en recevons encore.. nous ferons de meme les autres fois subséquante.

Si c'est vraiment un appel de Bell Canada.. ils n'ont qu'à décrocher un de leurs combiné et appeller d'eux-meme. Meme si cela s'avérait etre une agence de collection pour Bell Canada.. tant que nos compte ne sont pas à découvert ils ne peuvent rien contre nous.

Cette compagnie de pourriture n'arrete pas de nous envoyer de la publicité par la poste pour nous faire des offres de forfait pour leurs produit. Pour ceux d'entre vous qui faites des longues distances au téléphone et qui payer des gros montants à tout les mois.. vous devriez songer à prendre un autre service autre que Bell Canada pour vos LD.. ça vous couterait un bras de moins ;)

After months of these annoying calls, I finally returned the call to 800-650-9951.

After asked if I was "Barry Shoeman"...I explained that I was not that person and please stop calling my phone. The operator had no concept of who I was or that I had my phone number since 1999 - and had never heard of "Barry Shoeman".

She said my number would be taken of the list...

How is it that my supplier, whom I pay automatically each and every month, has no concept of whom they're calling? It's they're system, they maintain the database.

BTW - I was ready to change my phone number at a $35.00 fee for doing so at the local bell store.

I work for bell canada collections and yes, that is the contact number. and if you don't call back, at least to tell us we have the wrong person associated to the account, the account will be sent to the credit bureau and it will messup your credit

This IS Bell's own collection department. It is NOT a collection agency but it can be forwarded to Collection Agency if you don't respond. DO NOT IGNORE THEM!

In my case, it was a screw-up by Bell which I have become used to... This was with their WiMAX (portable internet) service which I had tried last June 2008.  I have returned the unit as it didn't work in my area and I was told that I had nothing to worry about as I returned the hardware with receipt and not used or activated their service.  

I had called Bell 4 times about monthly invoices and I happen to ignore one, and their collection department didn't waste any time in calling me about the money I DO NOT owe them... Good luck with your call!! I have to wait 4 weeks for them to investigate their mix up...

I recieved a call from 1-800-650-9951 today (february 14th 2011) but I didn't answer because i was at school(i'm 14). Thank god my teacher didn't hear it! I called this number and i learned that the call wasn't even for me! And also, bell called me even if i'm not with bell (i'm with fido).

I got this call a couple of times, ignored it for a while, then decided to call. Apparently they have a note on my account that my service was cancelled for non-payment - AFTER I called to cancel the service. WTF?? Typical Bell customer "service".

Sure it's Bell Canada.   More like   BELL INDIA !!!



I hate them and so happy I never have to deal with them again.

Got message on phone and subsequent phone calls from 800-650-9951.  Muffled name they wanted to contact.  Wanted me to phone them and give a reference number to my "supposed" file.  I am not responding.  Probably a phishing expedition.  Fraud???

Spoke to Bell, & yes it is legit. Just Bell being Bell when you cancel their service.  Gee, I wonder why I cancelled if this is how they treat people (he asked sarcastically) who have never missed a payment

I just got a call from this number and I was reading other comments on other sites and people were saying just call back and they will ask if it is this person and if it is not you then they will take you off their list.

I did not see that on this site so I thought i would let you know. My husband just called them back and they just asked again if it was the person they were trying to reach when we said no, they said sorry and took us off the list.

I received a flyer in the mail announcing that i was selected to pay off 50% of my credit card debt and this number was referenced on the flyer to call.  I know this has to be a scam because the author is making it appear as though the offer is coming from the National Debt Relief Stimulus Plan with a DC address and an official looking case number but the US government would not pay for presorted 1st class postage, would they?  SCAMMERS.  Do not bother calling the number because you will only acknowledge that you have a live telephone number and they will record it and keep calling and calling and so on and so forth.

We've been getting this same call.  Wow.  I can't believe this is a Bell thing.  Talk about unscruplulous and certainly not a way to handle customer service.  I'm thinking about bringing this up with CTV's consumer affairs reporter and putting this on TV.  Whatever the problem we have with Bell it certainly doesn't need to be handled this way, nor is it an effective way to get a response from a customer.  Just another reason why we cancelled our service in the first place.

same as above, call this number its not a telemarketer.  I haven't called but if its Bell why not just say so???
