Yes, legit ! But if you are worried call the # on the back of your card. Press 0 three times to bypass all the automated questions and get to a real person. Tell them about the message you received. You will get routed to the Fraud/Security division. There were 2 charges that were NOT mine. Have read how scam artists test a credit card number by sending you something they order. (usually online) If the charge goes thru, they then quickly order gobs of stuff to send to themselves............which they resell via Ebay, Craigs List, on the street etc. So please check any call you get by just calling the bank's number on the back of your credit card and explaining the message you received.

Was not fake for me. I called back to the 800# and I didn't give any info about me or my card. I apologized for perhaps insulting them by being suspicious and he said "no problem, call the # on the back of your credit card and go directly thru Chase and explain the message you received." Did so. Was routed thru a couple of departments and on to the "Security Dept." which gave me info on 2 charges to my account that I did NOT make. Was asked for my various "passwords" etc. I had actually received packages for those 2 charges today! I had not ordered them. Have read how scam artists test your credit card # by having something sent to you ---if it goes thru, they start ordering items to be shipped to themselves using your credit data. They can rack up huge $$$ and then they resell the items via Ebay, Craigs List, pawn shops etc. So, just call the # on the back of your credit card and get to Fraud or Security division ! Just tell them about the message you received. Bypass the automated choices by pressing 0 three times to get to a real person at the bank.

My call / VMS came from (224) 222-5000 with instructions to call the 800-654-9214 #.
They had my last 4 CC digits.
I called the Chase # on my CC. It is LEGITIMATE!
(Mine was online activity)

I also just called # on back of debit card to verify message I received on my answering machine and chase customer service verified that it is their fraud division #. Still in process of calling the # back to see what is going on.

It is legit...I started to worry also, so I called the number on back of my credit card and it is legit. I talked to a rep and everything was true.
Elena 2012-02-03 18:21:43 Unknown
It was a legit call from Chase. I called the number on the back of my card, and they transferred me to the Fraud Protection Services.I made a charge with my card to fly to a city I've never been to, and they had frozen the account. They were able to unfreeze my account once I confirmed the charge was correct.

This number is legit at Chase fraud dept. They contacted me to report suspicious activity generated from the UK to the US on my card. Had to cancel and order new card - appreciate their consumer protection!

It is legit. Don't take my word for it, though. Call the number on the back of your card. That's what I did. Then they verified that they were trying to get a hold of me due to someone trying to fraudulently use my card. Had to cancel my card and get a new one.

This is not a legit number , I don't have chase cards , they called my daughter and wife in the last three days trying to get money or legal action . I called the district attorneys office , THIS IS A SCAM!
Never give info over the phone , we bought a car recently and they have called us and all references on the application!
Remember the scammers can post here too!

I recieved a call from Chase notifying me of an suspicous rejected internet charge. They gave me this number to call back. I called back the number on the back of my card (because it was different from this one) and eventaully got routed back to the Chase Fraud department who verified the rejected charge and closed my account and is sending new cards. This is a valid Chase number.

I received a call and it was legit. As someone else said, if in doubt, always call the number on the back of your card and they will transfer you to the fraud department if necessary. My card was used 3 times!!!
Greg 2011-03-29 18:02:46 Unknown
I got a call from this number and was suspicious, so I called the number on my card and verified that this was a legitimate call.
Fanny 2011-03-07 05:24:57 Unknown
i just get a voice mail from someone ask me to call back this number and i call the chase they said this number is from their Fraud Protection Department.
CK 2011-02-11 00:14:25 Unknown
The call is legit. But you should always call the number on your card if you have any doubt. We found that Chase questioned a charge on our card account and it was a fraud charge. They were on the ball in catching it.
John 2010-12-28 19:09:07 Unknown
I verified with Chase and looks like this is a valid number for chase's fraud department.
Jaim 2010-12-05 19:11:55 Unknown
I just got a phone call from this number saying there was fraud on my account and they need my account number, I work for chase and I know they would never call like that, they would freeze your card for suspected fraud and never ask for your account number

I received a msg (from a person, not automated) to call this number as it was Chase Fraud Protection Dept. The number is legit. I called and verified my acct status and then hung up and called the number on the back of the card to close the acct. I told the agent about the 6549214 # and she said it was legit. There had been three attempted internet transactions for about 15K total--not me. Closed the acct and opened a new one. Kudos to Chase for being on the ball and denying the internet charges.

I also received a call from this number and called the number on the Disney card to verify that they had contacted me. The Disney visa representative verified that it was a legitimate call to verify a recent transaction on my card.
Tammy 2010-09-24 18:34:43 Unknown
Phew, Thanks for that. I was starting to worry!!
Concerned 2010-08-27 19:56:24 Unknown
I received the same call from this number.
I then called Chase at the number on the back of my card.
They did verify it was them and that I had a fraud alert on my card.
This time it was legit

They called me yesterday at 2 diff numbers and said they were Chase Fraud and that I had unotherized charges. Said if I gave them card number they would issue a new card. Must be a big operation.
Grandpa Bob 2010-08-26 23:28:18 Unknown
They left a message stating they were from the Fraud Division of Chase Credit Card Company. They instructed me to have my Chase credit card numbers available when I returned their phone call. Yeah Right!
NIC 2010-07-29 18:45:29 Unknown
I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH THEM TOO- YOU MEAN ITS FAKE???
anakcu 2010-07-21 18:51:09 Unknown
Caller identified themselves as Disney Rewards and gave last 4 digits of my account number. It was supposedly about potential fraud but the last time this happened I received an automated call.
