This is an old thread from what I've seen so far but this number still calls and I just got a call at 11:30PM, which I thought was too late (by law) for collection companies to contact you. Fortunately, I have a call blocker so only a few people who I choose to let through even affect me, so I just see their missed calls despite the number they use..and I haven't set up my voicemail die to a stalker situation, so it's literally like nothing happened. However, beware anyone new looking at this thread that they do not follow any time guidelines if they're still in effect.

They Claim to be Merrck Bank, but looking at Merrick Banks profile this number does not appear. The one time we got a live agent they demanded money from us, not even knowing  what my address is. Foreigner obviously not in the U.S.  This means only one thing, this is a shake scam. They extort money from you with pressure tactics. I never heard of Merrick bank and never even seen an email or letter from them. Don't be conned they will ask for a credit card number SSI and the usual.

Good luck! My mother in law doesn't live with us and the phone is not in her name but they call 50 times a day. We have tried falsified numbers and telling them they have the wrong number yet they continuosly call daily.

I continue to recieve phone calls from this number....very annoying especially since I pay my bills on time.

I recieved a call from this number and when i called back the girl was rude, yelled at me, would not put a supervisor on the phone and then hung up on me!!! Then said the number they call from was not on there records??? Don't get it!!!

I am receiving a call every day.  I am not sure who is calling, therefore, I am not answering.  It is very annoying.

I have already made my payment to Merrick Bank, but they call me from 3 different numbers multiple times every day...

I have been getting calls from this number. And upon checking on who is number belongs to. I found out it belongs to United Nat'l Bank. I have never had a Credit card with them and they keep calling my cell phone. I am about to change my number. It's not the first time I have some company call me repeatedly of which I had no business with them in the first place. They must of entered the wrong number in thier computer on dailing system.

I just received a call also and I told them no such person lives here. I also have lost my extra income and I cannot no longer pay this card. Will they be able to sue me?

They always leave a message saying it's "the card processing center, to call back, someone is available 24/7.

This is one of my 7 Credit Cards totaling over $22,000.  Ironic as it is, due to the Banks Greedyness our economy is in a down turn.  Thus now I am unemployed and I can't pay my Credit Card payments to the Banks.  I guess what coes around goes around.

They call daily.  I have no voicemail and I turned off my answering machine.  Soooo...if it's Merrick Bank...they can kiss my ever-loving, big round A**!!  and like it too!  HA...let them call till their grubby little fingers fall off their dry, flaky hands.  LOL!

Just a question.  We are all tired of the hang ups which are constant. You cant find out who it is if they wont talk to you.  Lets turn the tables and start a nationwide calling club.  Everyone call them at 1:00 every day!  Maybe that will at least teach them what a telephone is for.

I do agree. They have already written off my debt, so I plan on filing bankruptcy.  I can start over fresh due to some circumstances that left me no choice, but to provide for my household. The house comes before the credit cards any day.

I can see your bank charging a stop payment fee, but the credit card company should not.  I keep getting a call too with no messages.  If I don't know the number, I am not answering, and it's my cell, so I am not going to use my minutes on them.  They call anywhere from 8:30 am - 8:45 pm.  It is ridiculous! Merrick continues to call a number which I sent a letter to them requesting not to call, phone is not in my name, I do not have a phone. Dispute with them in regards to charging me an over balance charge each month.. Amount which I had been paying has been above the min. required, yet each month bill continues to increase because of this over limit charge and interest they are charging.
Problem a few months ago, I was late due to being out of State.  They called me and since I have auto pay through my bank I assured them I would send a payment via bank in a few days.  They asked for my account number I assumed to verify which bank it would be comming from.  Was never told they were going to withdraw funds.  The next day my bank called to tell me because of what Merrick did, I bounced 4 checks at $35.00 per check...I informed my bank to stop payment to Merrick.  As a result of this Merrick also charged me a fee for stoping the payment.
Untill Merrick removes these fees and over limit fees I have no intention of paying them another cent.

Repeated calls, no messages.  When I sent an email, complaining about their "collection" calls and the fact they call repeatedly and do not identify themselves, they began then saying they were a "card company" and available 24/7 to take my call.

It was the collections dept. requesting payment for a past due account.  Merrick Bank.
