I used to work for this company.  They call for Police Benevolent Association, Florida State Firefighters Association, Breast Cancer Society of America, Kid's Wish Network, Fire Fighters Chartiable Foundation, and others.  The actual return that gets to the charity is between 10% and 17% depending on which one it is.  Sadly, like most things, this one is a big scam.  Not only that, but they encourage employees to commit fraud, for instance, saying that the donation is tax-deductable when it is not, saying that their donation is for their local firefighters or police, and lying about the percentage that goes to the charity.  When I was there I overheard many callers lying at one time or another.  The honest callers were usually the ones who were always sent home early and eventually let go, and since everyone needs to eat and pay bills, the dishonesty was rampant at that time and I am sure still is.

They pull your heartstrings by pleading for summer camps for kids who were badly burned or disfigured by fires (no joke, that's what they did for Firefighters Charitable), for the last dying wish of a terminally-ill child, fallen officers and their families, and cancer patients.

I am surprised that the real police and firefighters allow an operation like this to thrive by taking the last few dollars from elderly people that, had they know better, would have gone to their real public servants.  They have maybe ten charities and if you give to one, you get called by them all.  They also operate now under the front name "Community Outreach" when calling for PBA since "Organizational Development" must have earned a bad name.  This outfit claims to be a non-profit while they pocket 83% or more of the money.  If you want to make a donation, give it directly and make sure that NO LESS than 100% of the money goes where it is supposed to, folks :-)

I also get repeated calls that are not responded to when I pick up.

Another phony charity fundraising scam.  Do not engage, unless you want your bank account emptied.  If there is any charity that you want to donate to, then donate directly to that charity instead.

800-660-1699   TOLLFREE NUMBER   No matter how many times I tell them that I am on the Do Not Call List, and that they must put me on their own Do Not Call List, they call, and call...  I have promised them that I will NEVER ever give to any cause which calls me from their call center, but, alas, ....

Calls repeatedly but never leaves a message.  I never answer but they continue to call.

I might be interested--I have fought them for over four years--I'm so mad at them, I would never donate a penny to them--yet they keep calling. They are a telemarketer and should abide by the Do not call law--but that's a joke.

I was not at home.  My mom received a call at my home from the above number.  The caller identified himself as being with the Fire Fighters.  My mom told him that I did not accept solicitation calls.  At which point he told her that I had given to them in the past and that she "better get her s*** straight"!!  Sorry about the language....but I am quoting!

For being a Charity, they are relentless. I get at least three calls a day from them which I never answer. When will they realize I'm not going to talk with them?

This is just one of the many numbers that Organizational Development uses.  They are a call center and get contracts from all sorts of companies and so-called charities.  They are a royal pain in the a** and will not stop calling even if you ask them to.  The reason: they may take you off of one calling list but you may be on hundreds more and they don't give a crap.  As far as the "charities" are concerned you should know that they keep more than 92% of what they collect.  In fact, they can keep 100% if they don't meet a projected minimum.  Legitimate charities don't use these people.  Furthermore, they are not exempt from being fined by the FCC for failing to remove people from the call list because they are not a non-profit organization.  Their claim that they are calling for a charity becomes irrelevant because they make a huge profit on the call.  So go ahead and report them.  I report them every time I see any of their numbers on my interceptor.  Fortunately, I purchases and  interceptor so I'm never bothered by them but slimy organizations like this make me sick.  Never give money to these people.

My issue with this company is simple:
1)They have incessantly called my number for the past three years AND
absolutely will not stop even though I have asked over nine times very nicely--EVERY TIME. Your "customer service" rep. is very nice and says it will be done--but alas no stopping--in fact increased calling--which is absolutely harassment--number of calls over the past three+ years---

Wilber you are probably Earl under a fake name. I worked there while I went to Business school at FAU to earn some extra money and they where very honest. They sent 1 800 numbers because that allowed consumers that saw that number to call back to their offices toll free which exceeds the federal and state laws. Now a have job as a CPA working for a local firm so I am not the low life in this picture as you so state. What they should do is use regular caller id and force you to call back with a toll charge to get your number deleted ,would that be better for you? There are some people that you just cant please. Seems I'm talking to one.
