Found an envelope taped to the front door. It said, "An independent property inspector visited your property today. The purpose of this visit was to determine the occupancy and security condition of your property. This inspection is permitted under your security instrument. It is important that you contact your mortgage company to discuss your account."

Then my landlords name and my address are hand-written along with the telephone number 880-662-3806 and the bank name "Wells Fargo." I was going to call my landlady about this but since this seems to be a scam I won't bother her with it. But it does spook me that someone was wandering around the property and outside the house while I was inside. I never saw them, but now I know what set the dogs off yesterday.

The left a message on my door asking me to call Wells Fargo at this number.  I do not know who it was but the number does not belong to Wells Fargo.  The note said they were a home inspection company.

These people are hounding me day and night.  I've asked them to quit calling/take me off their list.  When I don't answer they don't leave a message.  I have never had a loan with them.
I've reported them to the National Do Not Call registry.
They should be prosecuted!

America?s Servicing Company®
What is America?s Servicing Company?

America's Servicing Company (ASC) is a division of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage that services loans for other investors under the America?s Servicing Company name.
The vast majority of America?s Servicing Company mortgages were originated by other lenders, packaged into securities, and sold by those lenders into the secondary market.
As a result, Wells Fargo had no involvement in the origination or underwriting of the vast majority of loans serviced by America?s Servicing Company.

Why is this division of Wells Fargo called America?s Servicing Company?
America?s Servicing Company is the generic label used for this business because some of our competitors do not want the Wells Fargo name associated with their loans. By using the America?s Servicing Company name, we avoid this problem. America?s Servicing Company customers receive the same great level of service provided to customers with loans originated by Wells Fargo.
Why does Wells Fargo service these loans?
As a result of our strong track record of success in achieving the highest servicer ratings, companies seek our expertise when they need assistance in servicing their loans. Servicing loans for third parties is simply another business for Wells Fargo.
How can I contact America?s Servicing Company?
America?s Servicing Company can be contacted by phone at 800-842-7654

I've been getting the calls for weeks from the automated system - and we have NEVER had an account with ASC or WF.  I've called three times and gone through the painful never-ending menu system - each time I get to someone, it is the same thing - give them my phone number (which I've had for almost ten years), they ask for my name, when it doesn't match who they are looking for, they tell me they can't tell me anything more.  I asked to be removed from their calling list since neither my wife or I are on the account (the only two adults in my household), they tell me it takes 48 hours, but the calls/messages persist every day (sometimes twice or three times) as they have for over a month now.

They need to get it straight that they are not going to reach this 'mystery account holder' no matter how many times they call the same number.  Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting a different result.

Okay, but what if you haven't fallen behind? Or, in fact, you don't even have a loan with them? Why are they calling me everyday, several times a day? When I pleaded with the guy to take me off the list, his response was, "We don't have a list." Huh?

They have called me twice now in the past week. I have NEVER had a mortgage with them.  I contacted my current mortgage company and they said to call the company and find out what they want; however, when you try to call them you have to put in a social security number (which I never give out, and if you're truly my mortgage company, you should already have that on file) or your loan number.  Well, idiots, I don't have a loan with you and never did. There is no way to reach a "live person" because this is a scam operation.  All they want is to get your social security number and steal your identity.  Google is full of hits for this *@#@*@*@ scam of a company.  Do your research before you call them!

Like D said; they purchase mortgages from other lenders typically high risk loans. This is a subsidiary company owned by Wells Fargo to handle a portion of their "side" loan operations (bought out loans that lenders do not think total interest will be payed on). This is Wells Fargo way of "gambling": paying a lender a way smaller percentage than what will be payed out during the term of the loan; lender gets extra cash faster, Wells Fargo hopes to recoup more than they payed to buy loan. Bottom line: They want your property to resell, or the cash they spent buying the loan plus at least 80%. It's done more than we would like!!! Damn I hate it when I'm right!!!!

Betty, Steve....... Someone put your number down as their contact info. Feel free to have fun and waste their time especially if you do not have a loan with them. I do it with telemarketers all the time: I'll talk to them with accents and tell them about irrelevant things (I got a new dog and it pees on yellow grass, but how does it know if the grass is yellow, dogs are colorblind) see what I mean. If they call during dinner I'll chew in their ear and tell them what I'm eating. KILL THEIR TIME WITH BU***HIT!!!! It also makes for entertaining recordings. Don't get mad at stupid people..... Be entertained by them!

Let you know I saw on C Span over a month ago when the VP of Servicing for Wells Fargo was giving testimony to congressional banking and finance committee the Congresswomen from Ohio asked her if they charged money for loan modification. The VP said they don't but she added because of privacy laws she could not comment on the specifics of any account.
Interesting she said this many times when the Congressional Representative asked her why there were several articles in her local region in Ohio had said that people had been told several times that Wells Fargo was charging fees for home modifications. She denied it. I spoke to others that have loans with Wells Fargo here in LA County Area. they said the same thing and so it was in LAs Vegas. The only conclusion is Wells Fargo is LYING!

I don't have a mortgage with Wells Fargo, my mortgage hasn't been sold to America's Servicing Company, nor is repayment of my loan in jeopardy, so none of the explanations hold water. There are too many messages online mentioning shady calls from America's Servicing Company. They know the messages they leave are vague enough to cause concern--even I checked my online banking as well as my online mortgage account to see if there was a problem, and of course everything was fine. You'd at least think they'd change some of their call-back numbers so it wouldn't be so easy for people to search who is running the scam! My message said to call 800-662-3806.

I too received a call from 909-658-0204 claiming to be American Servicing Co and that they own my mortgage, which was a total lie. I asked them to provide their Federal ID No. so that I can verify that they are my mortgage company and a legitimate business. They were very hesitant and then the CSR claimed not to have their FED ID No (which we know is untrue because ALL businesses  must provide their Fedearl ID # upon request). They suggested that I call  back at 800-662-3806 *** CAUTION - this is where they still your ID - after entering or disclosing your SS#. .

Yes, this is my mortgage company, but with a different number. We have also fallen behind and they want to set up payment arrangements. If you do not have an account with them just call ASC and wait for an operator and explain. Otherwise, they will call and call.

Yes, before I called I researched the number and then I call my company number on the invoice that is sent to me every month. ASC (American Servicing Company) says that in the contract it says that if your behind they can send a "property inspector" to make sure that you are STILL occupying the property.

I wonder how many more people these people have violated peoples rights but manipulating them to sign contracts with them without representation from a lawyer to advise them of their rights? How much have money have taken from each person or family who only borrowed just a small amount and then they ASC charged them more points or processing fees (I think mine had to be about $20 thousand dollars. What was yours.

America's Servicing Company is actually owned by Wells Fargo.  I have just recently started receiving calls from ASC.  I had a loan through them, whereby they prevented my payments when I refused to give them information they already had, resulting in default.  I complained, and they then force placed insurance on my loan, when in fact it was already covered, and they had the appropriate paperwork.  I worked with multiple agencies to get the loan corrected, however, ASC was having nothing to do with it, and although they stated they corrected it they simply removed the fee from the "other charges" on paper and added them into my actual loan, increasing the payments.  ASC was supposedly in the process of correcting the loan and initiating a re-modification, but instead sold it to Deutsche Bank, who promptly foreclosed on the property.  I complained again to multiple agencies and even the president, who I will also mention is the ONLY one that has responded to my complaints.  Since that complaint to the president I have received calls from ASC every day, as I do believe they are attempting to cover their A$$ now.  This case is currently in court, and set for trial in June.  It is amazing the scam that is happening all over America, between these financial institutions, it is no wonder their is a foreclosure crisis in progress.  ASC contacted me yesterday, then they wanted me to identify myself giving again information that they already had, property address, loan number, ss number.   I told them they called me and asked "what do you want", they refused to speak to me until I gave the information after multiple times advising them they had called me, what did they want?  The conversation ended as they as ALL of you have said are phishing for information.  America's Servicing Company, is Wells Fargo.  Wells Fargo changes their name as do all the banks and companies so those they have frauded are unable to contact them.  It needs to stop, and hopefully someday it will.  Unfortunately there are no lawyers, or civil judges that are versed enough on this scam and the laws regarding it to provide justice to the customer, that has been wronged.
