"Courtesy Call" from Countrywide--Again!
June C. 2011-06-06 20:58:13 Unknown
Countrywide - and they call every day, at least twice a day for the past 2 weeks. I've asked them not to call back on 3 occasions to no avail. I simply don't pick up the phone any more when they call and let the machine pick it up. Of course, they don't leave a message. I just learned that they are exempt from honoring our registration in the "Do Not Call" list because we are current customers. However, they are NOT calling about our current account, just trying to solicit new/additional business. They've got to be kidding!! There isn't any way we would ever do business with them EVER again. EXTREMELY ANNOYING!!

This has to be the 3rd. time they called today! We are not past due on our mortgage now or ever since they bought it 11 years ago! They want a refinance so they can hook us for another 15 years of hell! I've asked them repeatedly to stop calling but to no avail. I guess the next step is to send a certified letter telling them we have no plans now or ever to refinance with them because of the annoying calls that they make even after we've asked them to stop several times!

I think this is probably Lifetime Lift - they have been harassing me for 3 months now. I wrote the Better Business Bureau but I think they are back. If it isn't them, then it is some other entity harassing me. I hate this!!

To get removed from Countrywide's/Bank of America marketing list, you have to call 1-888-341-5000. I called and spoke with an "actual" person that took my information.
This is a legal agreement and you will be off their solicitation for 5 years. The only time they will call or contact you is if they need to speak to you about your account. It will take six weeks for it to kick in.
This is what was told to me. Hope this helps everyone.

Yes, it countrywide, they call non-stop, just mail around the clock also, no wonder they are going broke, if I had a guarentee that I could refinance and never have it sold back to countrywide I would do it right now, been going on for years, I started getting real nasty with them on the phone and it still keeps going on, they sure must have made record profits last year to spend money on things like this
JoeTaxpayer 2009-04-02 00:39:46 Unknown
I'm a Countrywide Customer and pay my mortgage on time, why don't they just have their name appear on the caller ID and I'll answer. Or do they want to trick their "valued" customers" into receiving sales pitches. I never ever answer a phone call if it doesn't appear on my caller ID

We have had a ridiculous amount of calls from Countrywide. We are on the do not call and the opt out list. There are two mortgages in the family with Countrywide and I guess that is why they continue to call. The problem is, they do not identify what they are calling about and so when there actually was a problem with one of the mortgages it became like the fox crying wolf-and guess what, now we have negative credit records. It did no good to appeal it with Experian. I have appealed it with the other two and have even written to my congressman about the problem. Not to worry! Anything that can't go on forever doesn't! But in the mean time, borrowers may be pressured to take additional equity out of their homes, spend it on things they may not need, run into trouble making monthly payments and eventually face foreclosure. This is so sad.

I am on the so called "DO NOT CALL" registry list but, there are MANY exceptions that allow companies to call you anyway.
I am not even doing business with Countrywide and they still call me every day!
The problem is CONGRESS! In addition to complaining here every one NEED to write their representative and let them know in NO uncertain term that, WE THE PEOPLE do NOT want ANYONE calling us at home UNLESS we SPECIFICALLY authorize such phone call. So, we really need is a PLEASE, DO CALL ME registry, not the other way around.
The registry is a joke for the most part. Did you know that the law, as passed by our COngress, allows companies, ANY company, to call you at home if you are deemed to be in a "business RELATIONSHIP" with them. And, the definition of "business relationship" INCLUDES buying at item (like a pair of jeans, a tv, etc...) which would in turn also allow ANY company related to the other one. It's such a giveaway to corporations at the expense of our friggin' right to privacy, to be left alone at home, in peace, without some life-less moron calling us trying to sell us something.
It's not too much to ask, is it?

I received a call from Countrywide 800-668-7369
when I ran to ans the call ( as I have an ill relative), there was only dead air.
When I hung up to make a call, I was NOT ABLE to dial a number. The line remained open, even after I hung up 3 times. What if I had to dial 911 for an emergency.
I will be contacting the FTC for this abuse, as it was from a company who has used shady business ploys which is well known to have resulted in there poor ratings in the mortgage area.

You can try to refinance with some other bank, and they end up selling it back to Countrywide. I absolutely didn't want to do business when I refinanced with another company, and my mortgage months later still ended up in the hands of Countrywide.

I recently got caller ID & saw my 1st 800 call come in today. Needless to say, I did not answer it. Googled it & saw it was Countrywide. They have called me numerous times in the past. The one time I bothered to explain that I neither wanted nor needed a home equity loan - I was completely ignored by the Countrywide rep. who just kept jabbering why it was "still a good idea". Once my mortgage is paid off - I will NEVER use Countrywide again!

Have repeatedly received calls on an almost daily basis from this number. I, too, have a mortgage and equity loan with Countrywide all in good standing. On the rarity I am home when they call, I will answer and never get a response (computer call?). They need to state their business and stop harassing their customers!

I get calls from Country Wide almost every day. I have faxed them e-mail and written to stop. No way now is 6 pm at dinner time and they just will not stop
Xman 2008-08-09 02:20:11 Unknown
Yes. they need to keep the eyes, ears, and hands on the freak practice of good service rather than call everyone at home for no good reason. focus on their business at the home would be better to me. What a lousy to me. How can we stop them? Class action law suit? I am in.

Knowing this company is Countrywide will write & ask that our name be removed and if not, will follow up with a formal complaint thru the State Consumer Complaint Hotline. Have rec'd numerous calls from this number in 2008: 6/03; 6/04/ 6/05/6/07/ 6/09 (2x); 6/10; 6/11; 6/12 (2x); 6/16 (2x); 6/19; 6/23 (2x). I keep a log of unsolicited calls & my guess is other calls are also from CW.

By reading postings, I have heard this is Country Wide Home Loans. They call 2-3 times a day if not more, this to me is harrassment! We answered once and they still call several times a day. We have chosen to not answer the phone when they call and we let the machine get it. Which they do not want to talk to and will hang up. Yes we have a loan with them and yes it is about refinancing the loan. They are desparate. Their business is sinking in quick sand and they will do anything including annoy their customers. We are looking at other financial institutions as well. I have also been told they will harrass previous customers as well. Unfortunately when you are a customer, you can't report them to the NO CALL commission!
