I think they are scammers

Bogus caller.  Trying to shake you down for

I I/we received several calls from 800-679-4310
I asked if I could call back and was told yes ask for Peter
I do not think he sounded Russian but Indian
Has anyone on this blog actually gone to the  Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-382-4357?

800-679-4310 calls, says he is Login Park, sounds like from India and says my computer is infected.  I ask if I could call him back that I wasn't at my computer right now.  Decided I might need to check it out.  So here I am.

They very well may be in Russia.  This is a large operation.  Call the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-382-4357.  They are building a case against them.  Microsoft is not happy!

Report this number as I did to the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-382-4357.  They are trying to get you to install Ransom ware, so that you will pay them to take it off.  The FTC knew all about this when I called them.  You can go to the website and type in the search block Microsoft windows.impersonation for updates.  They are building another case against them.  They already charged and won a similar case some years back.  Easy to talk to.  Help make the case against the scum bags.

The caller Robin Smith told me from reports sent from my computer I was infected with many dangerous viruses. I needed to log on and he would tell me how to fix it.  I asked him for a phone number that I could verify his employment.  And he gave me 18006793410.

I also got a call from Eric Smith with an Asian accent and said my computer was infected.  I asked how they got my phone number and he said through my registration, which I never gave my phone number.  He also told me that Microsoft doesn't give direct support for these problems and they contract with them as a third party.  I told him I would call him back and he gave me 1-800-679-4310.  Who should we be reporting this to?

I too received three calls from caller ID noted Name Not Found 1-725-2239 and an Indian speaking gentlemen told me that my computer was being hacked as we speak. The virus would gain my personal information unless I give him the IPS address.  That's when we thought that the caller was a scammer.  I would never give anyone the IPS address of my computer.  This allows the person to get into the computer.  I got a return number of 1-800-679-4310 and I was to ask for David.  I hung up and of course I am not calling him back.  I would know if my computer was being hacked or had a virus.  I would also go to a local business to service my computer and not someone over the phone. Finallly, if no one knows anything about computers, there is no way anyone would know from a report, who owns or where the computer is, never mind a phne number of where to call you. The company JD Infotech in my opinion, is a hoax.

Just had a call from this # saying someone was trying to hack my computer. The # on my caller id showed up as 725-2239. told me to hit windows button and R at the same time and to type in the rectangle box the letters he was giving me. Sounded like a call center and an Indian accent.

I just received a call from Charlie Williams from "Microsoft Technical Department. He said my computer was infected with Malware and that Microsoft has gotten many notices from my computer about this. He had me run eventvwr and showed me that I had 1,142 instances of Malware on my computer and that if I didn't let his tech. support person log on to my computer, they would just multiply until me computer crashed. I asked for a phone number to call him back and verify who is was and he gave me 1-800-679-4310. He too had an Indian accent. I googled the number and here I am.

I just got a call from an (caller ID) Out of Area number. He said his name is Eric Smith with a southasia accent. He said he was from Windows and that my computer was sending messages that it is infected. Of course, this is not the case, but I wanted to know what he planned to do. He asked me to type Ctrl R to open the DOS Run window. He then wanted me to type eventvwr. I decided I didn't want to learn any more and told him that I needed my husband's help. He said that I had to type the instructions so that he could show me how my computer is infected.  I asked if I could get my husband and call him back. He gave me 1-800-679-4310 and repeated his name as Eric Smith. He asked when I would call back. Of course, I am not calling back. I hope someone will put this scam out of commission.

It's not MS calling you.  Don't do anything they ask you to do or you will end up infected and having to pay them big bucks to clean your system.  Ever heard of ransom-ware?  Google it and you'll see what you may end up with.
