Received a call from this number stating she was from Henderson Agency Group and to phone her back at a different toll free number about a job.  The call came well after 8:00 pm.  Who calls that late at night to ask you about a job?  Scam!

Received a call from The Matthew Henderson Co (321-304- 2583)They call to tell me that they received my application for a Job and was selected to have an interview (they did not said is an Insurance Co) with the owner of the Co...Matthew etc,etc,etc....I researched thru internet and discovered is an Insurance Co...I NEVER APPLY TO SELL INSURANCES!!! Also heard they call hundreds, the interview is with 20 people at the same time, you must listen 1 hour of speech and they just offer commission of part of the total of your sale. (in addition of your efforts, time, gas, tolls and clothing you must share your earnings and they don't give you any allowance) With this economy...is tuff!

all i can say is that i am glad i had a bad feeling about the interview i just set up over the phone.  I started to try and track down the job it was that i applied to and I could not find it, then i found this site with all of your posts that say the exact same things.  Different phone numbers, and addresses, but still the same thing.  It is horrible to get peoples hopes up when you need a job to support your families, but I guess as long as they have a job scamming people they are okay about it.  A BIG HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU FOR SAVING MY TIME AND THE GAS I DO NOT HAVE FOR A BULL POOPIE INTERVIEW.

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF YOU.

    BEWARE of the GROUP!!!

I did my research.  They called me on Saturday morning and said they wanted me to come in for an interview from my resume (I never sent anything like this before, I am a teacher).  I called both numbers and got busy signals.

Received a call this morning from a man who rattled off his name too quick for me to even hear and said he was from American Income. I just graduated with a criminology degree. Why would I be interested in life insurance. I know I would not apply for this job personally. The voicemail told me to call a 1-800good number which apparently y'all have already seen. Ugh. Not returning that. Thank you all.

I rec'd an email stating that this Henderson Grp found my resume on a job board site "Monster/Careerbuiler" and wanted to set up an interview immediately. It was signed by Alex Park and wanted me to call 1800-682-9164. They also said my phone number didn't load properly which is why they didn't give me a call. Truth is I don't put my number on those resumes b/c anyone can find it and call. I only do it when I'm filing out an actual application. I digress... Something just felt off about this and two google searches later I found this page. I'm realizing too that they've been sending emails using Amerilife and American Life Ins (dozens of emails over the last yr). None of it set right with me. The messed up thing is that I'm so desperate for a job right now and these scanners are trying to pounce like a leopard on an elk. Thank everyone for your responses.

I received a call from Denise... you know the story.  I've checked the Florida Div. of corporationsand the so called Henderson Group has been inactive since 1999!!!!  truly a scam. there is no record on the BBB website nor the Chamber of commerce.  How come the goverment does not go after these people!   Why is it that websites like Monster and CareerBuilder don't protect the people looking for jobs!

The problem with insurance sales is that it is commission-only.  You typically don't receive a base salary.  That's why insurance companies have to resort to super-shady recruiting techniques.  Nobody wants to work for free for 6-9 months before they make their first sale.  Often times they'll ask you to come in for an interview and they won't even tell you what the job is.  Don't waste your time unless you have a spouse who brings in enough money to support you for a looooooong time before you make your first dime.  You're better off selling real estate.

I too received a call at 8:10 a.m. from Jose Flores who stated he is from The Henderson Group. Fortunately, I am already at work at that time, but I find it very unprofesional to call people before 9:00 a.m. on any day of the week. I will not be returning his call. Thank you for the posts of warning!

If the company is so upstanding, why have I been lied to?  I specifically told "Melissa" that my MBA is in International Operations, NOT sales and would not accept a sales position.  She was emphatic that the Operations Manager's position would NOT be a sales position, but sales management would be a part of the job............  I DON'T THINK SO!   Thanks to everyone posting here about the scam, we all gotta stick together..............

I got a phone call from Laura Nelson. She left a voice mail saying that she is calling from the Henderson Group and she has my resume right in front of her. She asked for a call back, and that she will be in the office till 2pm. I never send my resume to that company, but I updated my resume on careerbuilder.com recently.
After all these posts I will not waste my time either.

I got a call from "Denise" who stated she was calling from "The Henderson Group" in Tampa and she had gotten my resume online and they are very interested in meeting with me.  I can't find any info about what the company does when I search it.  I can only find information about the Outback Steakhouse located in front of their office when I search for the address.

Just got the same call, from a Denise in HR with the Henderson Group... a 321-397-4891 number showed up on my caller ID and she said that she had my resume and wanted to ask me a few more questions and could I please call her office at 800-682-9164... I have been contacted by so many scams out there, same as some of the others have listed, go do a credit history report and then come for an interview... Yeah right!  Thanks for sharing about this company... I have NO Insurance experience what so ever, can't imagine why my RESUME would appeal to them, but oh well... Not going to waste any more of my time with them... I just want to cry knowing that there are so many individuals out there that would try to rob someone who is out of work and looking for some kind of income to get by and put food on the table.

Hey I have an even better idea... why doesn't the great Gov. of Florida who came up with this brilliant idea to make collecting unemployment very difficult to entice folks to not draw on their money... Why doesn't he leave those of us who have worked solid for over 25 years in a career and are just trying to make ends meet on a puny $275 a week, instead why doesn't he spend his energy going after these scammers who are committing crimes against all of us instead!

Soo, as mostly everyone else on here- was called and they left a vm. A "Jose Flores", claiming to be going over my resume- yada yada. and that he was going to be in until 2pm. and to call that toll free number (800-682-9164) So annoyed, not to mentioned bummed when I couldn't figure out which company this was.. since I also have my resume on Career Builder. Needless to say- looked up the number. and VUALLLAAAA. For people needing jobs- and waiting for calls, this is just depressing. :(

I have been job hunting online for 15 months now and I have some wisdom and hard-learned experience to impart.

Posting your resume on the big public job boards is beneficial only to the website who charges recuriters a fee to look at your personal information. You get an overloaded Spam folder.

The other beneficiary is the sleazy sham recruiters who pester you 24/7 via email and phone calls to dangle an alleged "job" in front of you. Then there are, as one other  poster wrote, fees ...and sales pitches and cheezy internet surfing jobs.

There is no end of it until you pull all your personal information from the job websites. Don't let them fool you with claims that employers will not be able to find you and you will miss out on job opportunities. You upload a resume with each job application you submit to Monster without leaving it posted publicly on the website. Same with all other sites.Even LinkedIn is not your best friend.

You will also notice that you get many emails from people who "promise" millions of $$$ if you will help them out with money or personal info. How do you think they got your email...from the websites that have your resume availble for a fee. Folks, the real employersdo not call you to offer you a job that you did not apply for and that is a fact.

On last bit of sage advice: be sure that if you are going to give out your SS# to any employer (not a good idea until there is a job offer on the table) that the page is encrypted and has a verifiable certifcate of authenticity. Once your SS# falls into the wrong hands it is all over for you.

Good luck to all of you and I hope that one day we will all be to busy at our new jobs to be posting here.

I got a similar message from # 321-397-2804 asking for a return call to 800-682-9164.  Caller was Candice Williams who said she had questions about my resume.
Research lead me here and I did not return the call.
Thanks to those who posted warnings.
