This is a debt collector agency. Somehow they got my work number (which is a new job for me) and are constantly calling me at work. This is super embarrasing to recieve calls like this at my new job. I asked them nicely to remove my work number and gave them my cell number so I don't have personal calls at work. This is why people get irritated at these companies, not only did they call back hours later at my work, they also called back the next day. I've asked them several times to remove my work number and they obvisouly haven't.

I disagree with some of your remarks. I thank you for trying to work things out with us GUYS IN DEBT. Most of us were simply scammed by your clients and charged  for items we never agreed to. I have 4 different invoices from a corp. and they all state different fees. What do we do. Pick one? I agreed to pay a certain amount and was denied by the client. I was offered a 20% settlement from SRS but that only took their fee off my bill. My bill was for T ****** for a cell plan that was only 3 months old. They stated at one point I owed only 900.00. 3 months 900 dollars...Thats 300. month for a cellphone / 1 cellphone..****MAYBE the client isnt always correct?

It was very interesting to read all the reactions to the collections calls above.  Well, here is my story.  And no, I do not work for SCS nor am I affiliated with any other collections agencies.  One year ago I graduated from law school which cost me quite a sum.  My undergrad was at one of the biggest private Universities in the country and cost me even more than 3 years of law school.  Needless to say, I am in crazy large debt at the moment (in excess of $200K).  Well, some of my student loans for some of the undergrad bills were with Citibank Corp. (total of $30K).  Now that is who I would like to call the true scum of the earth.  With unemployment rates going through the roof, and paralegals being paid more than first-year attorneys, I fell back on payments on the undergrad student loans (thankfully my graduate loans are with Sallie Mae who are a bit more understanding of the current economic situation).  Despite begging that scum Citibank to allow me to go into forbearance/deferment or simply get on a graduate repayment plan so that I could afford monthly payments, they continuously harassed me and finally sent the balances of those loans to collections agency, which happened to be SCS.  Now, SCS do not collect for Citibank per se, they collect for Arrowwood Indemnity/TuitionGuard (or something like that) which is a company that insured my loans with Citibank.  Whatever, I really do not care who has my loans.  In any case, I was contacted by SCS representative who advised me that my loans are in collections, gave me the exact amounts and the name of the loan "seller", and told me that I need to pay.  I correlated the amounts with my records and they matched.  I contacted the scum (Citibank) and they confirmed that the loans went to collections.  Everything was indeed legit.  SCS then gave me the game plan: either I can pay off 75% of the loans and they will write-off the other 25% by applying with a bank for a loan (in other words I'd pay the student loan, but will owe that money to whichever bank I'd take money with), or I will need to provide a letter from the bank stating that they refused the loan to me and we will go from there.  Well, I went to the bank and they refused the loan: I simply am not eligible for any loans due to my debt-to-income ratio.  In the meantime my mother (bless her heart) offered to help me pay off the $30K worth of loans if SCS accepts $17-18K (yes, she would borrow for me from people that would not charge her exorbitant interest rates).  I spoke to my boss, and he said, no, attempt to bring it down to $15K.  I called SCS and spoke to a very understanding representative who said, well, I will need to run it by my manager, and I know that if I put it a counteroffer for $15K, they will agree to $17-18K, so how about I put the counteroffer for $10K and hopefully they will agree to $15K max.  She was simply amazing.  Three weeks later, I have paid HALF of what I owe and my credit score will hopefully start climbing up... :D  Sorry it was a long story, but the point of it was: I owe money, Citibank is scum for not allowing recent grads to defer payments, and SCS is merely doing their job which is collecting monies owed.  They are actually human beings there.  I dealt with horrible collections agencies before (yes, I have some credit card debt that I incurred during undergrad while I was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed thinking I will land an awesome job immediately after graduation), and SCS is by far the best in business in my experience.

Attempting to collect a debt from me paid a yr ago in full. Yes, they are scammers. I can prove it w bank statement. They made weird animal noises on the phone to me with some lady laughing in the background. I'm completely serious. They identified as SCS. They are some kind of scam, I don't know how they are still around... But do NOT pay them! They are not legitimate. My cred report is unaffected, and for the amount, I should have been in court by now if it was legit. Don't listen to these odd comments defending them... They're FAKE!

thank you for posting this... after i received the letter and responded and starting making payments on a bill that is/was mine, i started seeing all these negative posts that made me think i was getting scammed... reading your post made me hopeful and a lot more at ease that i was doing the right thing and NOT being scammed by SCS...

I work for SCS as well.  You make it seem as if all this stuff your saying is actually effecting me. i called back because she said it was "urgent" - turns out they were looking for my ex husband - a bill - that i know he paid - but wait - as i tried to explain to this woman that we are divorced - and that i've asked them not to call before - she gets all ballistic on me - telling me i'm a liar - threatening me - i finally cut off her tiraid and told her if they call again - i'll call a lawyer...

Rock on, JIKKE!!!!  They've called me as well.  I, in turn, called them over and over again until they blocked my number.  Great fun!  I hope this company is hung by their short hairs and goes toes up!

A young woman helped me and she took the time out to develop a rapport with me. After researching this company and know how long they have been in buiness I talked to her and expressed my concerns. I could just imagine how some people talk to them and curse them just b/c they didnt pay a bill and their loss they are now in collections.  This young woman helped me to settle my debt in a fair manner and also helped me clear several accounts off my credit report. Dont judge a company off of just one person.

and all we do is read what our clients gives us so if info is wrong, it is not our problem what-so-ever. we read the exact info that our clients give us. and no we dont make up lies and we are not "scum of the earth". its not our fault that half of you guys are in debt and you get mad at us for collecting the money that YOU guys owe. and YOU GUYS were late on paying. by the time your account has reached our offices, you have had over 3 MONTHS to pay with whom-tever were calling you in reguards to. we understand hard times but honestly were human beings so think about that before HANGING UP ON US instead of taking the 5 mins out of your day to clear up whatever mis-understanding you think is happening.

There must be someone else saying they are Sunrise because I checked with BofA and they do collect for them.  They were expedient and settled for me well.  I wouldn't talk or deal with them until I myself called BofA and verified this company.  So there just must be others saying they are Sunrise because I haven't had problems.  This is the contact info from the one I dealt with...260 Airport Plaza, Farmingdale, NY 11735 800-208-8565, general@sunrisecreditservices.com.  I work for the state not them. I just received a letter and several phone calls from this collection company which purchased a charged off account that i defaulted on for probably pennies on the dollar and they are charging me full price. If you guys think this people are nice you are smoking something good.

kind hearted people? wtf are you smoking? i just got my first call today and he was a complete jack*** and extremely rude!

they just called, left a message  and said my HSBC credit card was in bad standing which was incorrect.   I called back within 5 minutes and they asked for my phone number.  I gave them that and they said they didnt have my account information.  They said they are a call center, with multiple companies, none of which he would name for me.  They are located in Long Island.

Very rude people, didn't/don't know who they are. would not answer any of my questions, just hung up on me.

they called several times stating was urgent but when called back they wouldn't say nature of business since they were looking for my mom and also they tried to get personal information which of course was not divulged. the employee name was stephanie rios and her supervisor was Dave but that's all the info they would give out; they kept saying that they had multiple companies thay they service but wouldn't say the nature of their business or what the call was about.  
Very rude and unprofessional, sounded like a scam of some sort

I tried to report them to the better business bureau but only having the phone number which by the way was not found as a company name on their database did not help in completing the report.

I DROVE TO THE ADDRESS WENT INTO THE BUILDING AND FOUND THE SUITE 300- A COLLECTION AGENCY WITH A SOPHISTICATED CALLER ID SENDER- CAN TYPE IN ANY AGENCY AND SWITCH AND ROUTE NUMBERS TO MANY DIFFERENT LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE USA- THIS TYPE OF OUTFIT SHOULD BE STOPPED IN ITS TRACKS. I HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL AGENCYS - BUT WHO KNOWS IF THEY WILL DO ANYTHING.

today this company said I owed money on a cc I paid off a year ago, I dont even have the card anymore nor can does the company have an account under my information anymore online or over the phone or a statement.I asked for the information in writing and she said it sent it today. THEN WHY THE HELL IS SHE CALLING..I told her well obviously it won't get here.

I think this is a scam. They say they are Sunrise Credit Services and gave me a name of Nicole Brown(pretty common and pretty sure it is fake) anyhow. I told them I would contact the company directly and I was suspicious. needless to say I wasn't paying her or anyone a dime there. What a joke. She said they were out of NY...

These people called from a blocked number and told me that my son had an outstanding bill for $354 and claimed that they had left numerous messages and even gave me dates. I told that my computer had no record of their calls and that I had not received any messages. She said she couldn't give me any info because I couldn't prove I was my sons father and that I could be a neighbor answering the phone. DUH!!! They were rude and nasty! So I called them back at he number they left and told I need info on the bogus bill. They never even asked who I was, so much for verifing the person on the other end. When I started firing questions at them, they got very frustrated and started stumbling and said they had record my son or that any calls were ever made. When mentioned calling the FCC about their harassing tone she got even more frustrated. When I told her that the internet indicated they were scamming she continued acting like she couldn't find my son and tap dancing around. What a bunch of jerks? they claim to represent  sunrise credit collections or something like that. The also started trowing around names like T-Mobile and Bank of America. These people are calling me in error, and refuse to stop.  I recommend  that everyone FAX them a letter telling them to stop.  It is a toll free number so it doesn't cost you (it costs them).  Most all-in-one printers or computer with fax modem can be set up to do this and you can set up to continue automatically dialing the number until the fax goes through.  This way you won't have to waste your time talking to their rude employees.  They have another number also:  866-317-4274  Let the faxing begin!

I have had a similar experience. I was told I was delinquent on a loan payment that I know I paid. Someone named Monique Malone called me saying that I had to pay. When I called the number back they responded the call with a hello? When I asked who I was calling they (hesitantly) said SunRise Credit Services... They immediately said they wanted my name and number, and that they would call me back so they could assist me. They were very rude over the phone.

These people have called me at least 3 times a day everyday for the last few months.  ASking for someone who does not live here.  We ask them to take us off their list but they do not...so we started calling them - every 5 minutes for several hours one saturday morning.  If you *67 your number - it is blocked from their view.  We had to start doing that after the first 10 calls we made back to them because they just started hanging up on us and saying rude stuff...but if you *67 they cant see who it is.  It is some business called sunrise somthing in wayzata MN.... prank them back! thats what I say -- harass them back - but more!
