SO I LOOKED UP PHONE NUMBER AND FOUND THE NUMBER TO BE A COLLECTIONS COMPANY. I WENT ONLINE TO BRYAN MUNICIPAL COURT AND RUN OFF THE REFERENCE # SHE GAVE. TURNS OUT THE REFERENCE # IS FOUR DIFFERENT CRIMINAL CASES FROM 2007 TO 2012. I NEVER KNEW COLLECTIONS WAS A CRIMINAL CASE. DIRTY COLLECTIONS AGENCY. WHY DON'T THEY JUST IMPERSONATE AN OFFICER NEXT? WELL I WILL BE SENDING INFO AND PROOF TO STATE PROSECUTOR TO BRING CRS IN COURT FOR BREAKING STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS. I HOPE THEY KEEP CALLING AS I LOVE TO SAVE MESSAGES. I checked the ohiolaws/debtcollection site myself & they have a list of collectors by name&number & your company isn't found in either list. So somebody is full of sh**. This # calls @ early hrs&@least 3-4 times a day.

Capital Recovery Systems was not named in the Dispatch as a company being investigated for fraud.  They have no ties to the Payday Lending industry.  I am one of their clients in the Municipal Court Sector.  Check with the BBB.  They have an A+ rating.  This company does outstanding work and for those of you who use the words, "not legitimate" you are completely off base.  It is posts like this where untruths and basically lies are passed on via the internet  that damage good people and good companies reputations.  You told an outright lie when you said the Dispatch named them as a company being investigated.  Simply not true.  Good company, good people, great service provided.  You can all jump back on here and discredit my post by using the term "shill"....whatever.  It's not just their clients that would stand up for them, but it is the BBB and all the regulatory bodies that regulate the industry.

How could any one but a shill for this company assert that this is a legitimate business.  Over a year ago someone from this number and a couple of other numbers with Ohio prefixes started calling me repeatedly about some unpaid fine from some town in Ohio I never heard of let alone visited in my lifetime.  They were looking for someone with a different name than mine and I think that is illegal for them to say but when I told them I wasn't that person and requested as per the FDCPA that they provide proof of this debt to me in writing to my home address which I gave them.  They are supposed to be able to provide verification of the debt within 30 days of this request but to date nothing has ever come from them.  In fact the more I tried to talk to them about this being a legitimate debt they would just hang up on me.  If I tried to work it out all their people did is try to coerce me into giving them a credit immediately.  One of their representatives went on to say that the only way I could avoid going to jail was to pay her immediately with a credit card as some law enforcement agents already had a warrant for my arrest.  If I mentioned anything about the fdpca or how I could write to them, where they were at etc they just hung up on me.  Finally the last paradox from this legitimate company was that the more I answered their calls the more they called harassing me, sometimes calling 8 times in one day.  The calls from them didn't drop off until I started ignoring them and not answering.  When I ignored them they would only call maybe once a day and sometimes not at all.  They finally stopped for a while but when I came home today I see this number called twice today while I was at work so I guess they are starting up again.  So you think this is a legit company?  I doubt anyone who doesn't have a financial interest in the company thinks that.  My advice is ignore these callers until someone comes up with a way stop them. All I got from trying to work it out was a headache and a lot of harassing phone calls, at least when I ignore them they don't seem to call as much and I don't have to talk to any collection scam artist.

Hate to burst YOUR bubble, but if there are no fines or outstanding debts to start with, then this is NOT LEGIT. If the compmany does not say who they are calling for, nor do they identify themsleves, they are NOT LEGIT. I think you must be an employee because everyone with half a brain would be annoyed by any company who behaved this way. Stop acting like it is no big deal to be harassed by unwanted, unwarranted, mystery robocalls.

Hmm, what a coinsidence, I live in Cols, Ohio and our newspaper ran an article TODAY about bogus payday loan collectors.  This compay was named amoung companies being investigated for fraud.  They just HAPPENED to call me this morning.  If they are a serious collection agency they would not be using a reorded message

Called me at home...a recorded message says to call back for a very important matter..I don't think I will call back...I do not need to be scammed

This is a legitimate collections business. The call we got this morning was regarding an extended family member. The young woman I spoke with was very polite and immediately removed our phone number from their list when I told her I have no idea where that person is living. In fact, she initiated the removal of our number, I didn't have to ask.

This number called today twice and left the message "please call us about an important business matter"
They did not leave a call back number and extension or anything else

This number calls my home several times a week for the past few months. An automated voice says to call about an important business matter. It sounds like the important thing is they want to scam me out of my hard earned money. There is no ID when they call so I have no idea who this is.

I have been receiving these calls 2x a day for a very very long time. I owe no money of any kind to anybody for any reason. I pay ALL my bills & have an excellent credit history. I began receiving the calls when I subscribed to my phone # which I use specifically as a stand alone fax machine for my business. They cause me to waste close to 60 sheets of paper a month, not to mention my ink. I had the # changed at one point but had the same issue with the previous # only from 3 different collection agencies that had absolutely nothing to do with me.

I get these calls at weired time. I'm in Okinawa JP.Have been for over two years. The number is my Vonage overseas. Never call them back because I know they are just sleazy debt collectors with no grounds on anything on me. Let them keep an idiot on the payrolls for trying to collect me "non existent" debt.

Look it up.....they have to have a written signature from YOU stating that they can collect from YOU. The law is the best defense against these IDIOTS.

They tried collecting from me that I had no idea what they were talking about that was suppose to be over 20 years ago now, which is totally against the LAW.

I ask for the information to be sent to me, and they hang up on me. Now when they call, I still insist, but I also tell them that this call is being recorded....they hang up on me. I laugh my butt off on these IDIOTS.

They may be legitimate but they need to identify themselves and identify WHO they are looking for, instead of leaving generic messages about "an important business matter".

I have been receiving calls from this organization for 10 solid months(harrassment), 2-3 times per week. The message is always the same, I need to contact them for an important business matter, and they leave a case number. Lately, they have been using this new number 614-575-0590 but the old number is 800-693-6835. I never answer unless I recognize the number or the caller so I will never answer them(whoever they are). I make enough money that I can pay my bills and I always pay all of my bills so I know I don't owe anybody any money.
Two things: the zip code 43230 is from Gahanna, Ohio which is on the eastern border of Columbus, Ohio. Second, this person who calls itself Jerry1961 is a shill(a plant or a stooge). A person who is paid by this company to post this false message.

You call me on the phone I pay $39.00 a month to support and leave me a stupid message to call at my convince.  I do so, not knowing what this is all about, and have to navigate the worst call center message system I have ever had to navigate.  I can't reach a human even after calling the number back each time to try each prompt.  

If you are a debt collector, you need to double check SS numbers and addresses to insure you are leaving messages for the correct debtor.  I have never not paid a bill in my 45 years, run a red light or gotten a ticket of any kind.  You are barking up the wrong tree and if it does not stop, I will seek legal action for harassment.

Pass this along to your supervisor so that he knows who will be there ego meet him in court.

If you are a legit company then why do you continue to call the wrong people, in a different state then what you claim your taking people to court in? And for debts that are totally bogus? I will not answer any of your calls and each message you all leave on answering machine is turned over to my counties prosecutor. And besides, if you are a legit company, then why hide your identity from caller ID?

I don't answer unknown numbers. They left a message saying that it was an important business matter for someone whom I've never known and they were going to take this matter to court in Nebraska (no county or town mentioned) if they didn't hear back.

I work in Correctional Services and I am very familiar with the way child support works. If you owed court fees they would have 1st sent you an arrears letter, you would have had so long to make the payment before they would place a warrant out with that counties constable or sheriff's department. These payments owed are not handled by anyone but the court system and the domestic relations office.

This number has been calling us for about a year, telling us it is for my husband and that he owes child support in Madison county, Indiana.
They want $403.00
If, by some weird chance during our last 18 years together, my husband did manage to father a child behind my back, it would likely be way more than $403.00 for back child support!
They had our home address and wanted my husband's email.
