I answered an ad for a job position for a veterinary assistant/receptionist through craigslist and just received the same e-mail Ann got above. The first thing that flagged my attention is that they say they narrowed their search down to 15 out of 49 applicants, and then go on to say that I'm one of the FIVE (did they not just see they typed 15??) they want to interview! Next they say the pay is $18.00-$28.00 an hour!! WAY to good to be true! They then go on to refer to their company as a "firm" - not something typically applicable to a veterinary hospital/clinic (oops morons!)... grammar and spelling were off... What's more - the person claims to be the HR manager of the "Advance Realty Technology" company - um, NOT a VETERINARY facility. So tired of scams! To anyone reading this - ALWAYS research the company name and phone/fax numbers of anything that your gut doesn't trust. I've copied the e-mail below so you can see exactly what was sent to me:

Hours: 9:00 AM ? 5:00 PM (We can make hours flexible if necessary).
Pay: $18 - $28 an hour (we will decide final salary after interview based on experience)

Yes, we just got the same e-mail from "Jennifer Peterson" ... very skeptical about this one, especially since the pay was way out of line for a receptionist... deleted it immediately.

I received an email from Jennifer Peterson claiming to be from 'Advance Realty Technology'. Apparently, I had been one of 15 applicants out of 49 that had been chosen to participate in a Psychological Test/Personalty Test for a job I applied to on craigslist. See how it says I will get a PIN code to my mobile phone once I have completed the test? Yeah, right! Nice try! Fortunately, I have received enough of these SCAM emails to know when they are indeed a SCAM. Also, fortunately for me, I have not fallen for any of them. I always investigate business names and phone numbers before responding to these emails or phone calls. Below is a portion of the email I received. Note the phone number at the bottom. I hope this helps!

Do not feel bad I did the same thing. I only sent the first page with the score on it. How can they use that? They do not have your ss# or your passwords. They use our credit score for everything today it even is used to determine your auto insurance prem. I did call the customer service desk at freecreditreport.com and they told me they have been getting calls about this for about a month and they are not connected to PSX in any way. I am staying with them for a few months so they can monitor my credit. People need jobs today we wont be the only ones fooled. Good luck.

I went ahead to try to get my credit score. (You can do this with most things as long as you cancel within their time frame.) The link they give directs you to freecreditreport.com (no # between the report.com like the link says AND my # was different than yours also. The problem with my report is it claimed I had no 1 thing on my credit history and it says I have no score. Then the second half of my report referred to some guy I don't know in Oregon (and he had POOR credit) I then called the contact us number. They claim it can be fixed on Monday as there is no tecnical support (they're off for th New Year Eve's holiday which apparently lasts til Monday. I was GUARENTEED there would be no charge to my card. I'll let you know what happens Monday. Wish Me Luck, please.

They keep sending me emails saying that I'm there first pick and that i need to send them a credit report. This is the message they keep emailing me.
