Calling for local charities. If you want them to remove you, call the number back and you will get an automated message where you can leave your number to be removed.

They do not talk when I answer.
The FCC can issue warning citations and impose fines against companies violating or suspected of violating the do-not-call rules, but does not award individual damages. If you receive a telephone solicitation that you think violates any of these rules, you can file a complaint with the FCC. There is no charge for filing a complaint. You can file your complaint using an on-line complaint form found at esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm. You can also file your complaint with the FCC’s Consumer Center by e-mailing fccinfo@fcc.gov; calling 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322) voice or 1-888-TELL-FCC (1-888-835-5322) TTY; faxing 1-866-418-0232; or writing to:

I did not answer the call from 800-713-9890, I never do - that's what caller ID is for. However, some research gives two possibilities, either the RNC (Republican National Committee) or Harmony Real Estate Consultants in Bayside, NY. Reporting the RNC will do no good since "Do Not Call" rules allow political parties and charities to call anyway. Other entities may also call if you have a previous record of business with them. Other than that, Mike's message of 11-Feb-2009 is the way to go if it becomes too annoying.

call at 8:30 a.m. did not leave a message. 1800-713-9890
CAROL 2011-06-06 20:58:19 Unknown
I don't know who these people are but no one is there when they call. VERY annoying. I did not donate to the Republican Party or Right to Life. I have caller ID. Number is 1-800-713-9890. I ham on the DO NOT CALL LIST. I do not understand why charities and political parties are exempt. Congress exempted them for political conrtibutions. SHAME ON THEM.

1-800-713-9890 called about donation to the Texas Right to Life Group. The gentman offers a donation of 75 dollars, then 35 dollars, then 15 dollars. All figures were turn down.

This number called a couple of times and I missed all of them until yesterday. I answered and a guy said he was calling for Mercy corp. He requested donation of $50 to Congo and I turned down, he then requested $20. I did not trust him and told him I will do it online. He then said: "I understand you don't want to help them...." then I hung up the phone.
Weird and rude. I have contacted Mercy Corp regarding to this case.

These people are MDS Communications. They are in the business of telephone fundraising. Apparently they have a fair amount of clients. I called the number (800-713-9890) back and got a automated message apologizing for the calls. It stated since the calls are for political organizations the do not call list does NOT apply. It gave me an option to leave my number and they will purge me from their call lists however that will take 2-3 weeks. In the meantime, if I get a call with a live person on the other end, I'm going to make a note of who they are calling for and contact the actual charity and complain. I am sure charities would not like the idea that these clowns are getting people angry and them.
CORI 2011-06-06 20:58:19 Unknown
THIS NUMBER HAS CALLED ME EVERYDAY (ALWAYS AT THE SAME TIME) THIS WEEK, AND DOES NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. THEY ALWAYS CALL WHEN I'M AT WORK, WHICH IS SUPER ANNOYING BECAUSE I'M NOT ALLOWED TO ANSWER PERSONAL CALLS AT WORK. IF IT IS SOMEONE TRYING TO MONEY FOR A CHARITY OR THE RNC, WHY DON'T THEY LEAVE A MESSAGE? I JUST MIGHT DONATE MONEY TO THEM IF I KNEW WHO THE HECK IT WAS!
Markbb 2011-06-06 20:58:19 Unknown
They called me but I don't answer the scammers asking for donations on the phone and say its not a scam.....psst I've got some swampland in AZ selling fast just need a donation..
jimxx 2011-06-06 20:58:19 Unknown
The joker wwho called me today from this number gave 2 cryptic organization names and then finally the 3rd one mentioned right to life. I hope there's something we can do to stop these cell phone violations, not surprising from organzations of patriarchs who want to enslave the inside of women's pants despite our Constitutionally congruent Roe v Wade black letter law. As Edward Abbey said: "Abolition of a woman's right to abortion, when and if she wants it, amounts to compulsory maternity: a form of rape by the State". And I feel a bit like I've been ear-raped on my cell.

(800) 713-9890 has been calling but not leaving a message...
blocked the call on my Panasonic cordless with answering machine... nice feature... the phone rings once and the number shows up in caller id but that's it. all the comments above confirmed this was not someone I wanted to talk with. thank you all for posting. I got the phone at sears, came with 4 handsets... around $150, worth it, has caller id on each handset and speaks the name on caller id, which provides some level of entertainment...

Got a call on my cell that was a blocked number but they left a message to call this 800 number saying it was an important matter. Once yesterday and again now.
I am fed up too! 2010-12-01 20:22:18 Unknown
Great idea - although it won't get our number off of their listings and we will continue to be called. But at least you get a bit of satisfaction!

This is Charity Calling Company, a charity fund raiser, not the Republican National Committee.

Recieved a call fromt he caller claiming to be colling for 'Cpncerned Woamn of America." She said she had a political suvey. The first and only question was: How doyo you feel about aborition: pro life,pro-choice, or somewhere in between. I answered somewhere in between bordering on pro choice -- and that ended the survy-- but I quickly got in an "Allex- a l'infer!" before she hung-up!
I am on the do not call list and I have spcified that all right to life organizations not call me.
As for "Concerned Wome for America"-- as far as I can conern, this conservticve organization only cares about abortion, and abortion only, and is a one issue organization and does not give a damn about anyhting else at all!
Nevertheless, I traced the call after I received it.
I intend to reprot it.
I am tired of having [people call me up to poll be about the aboriton issue-- I am bloody tired of it!

Called me repeatedly over the last several days. Never leave a message. I called back and requested to be removed from their list. Still get calls. This is from a company called MDS Communication. They are a fund raiser for charitible organizations and claim not to have to follow the Do Not Call List. You can find them at http://www.mdscom.com/ There you will find a link to "contact us" with the email address of their VP of New Business and the Call Center Manager. I suggest you email them asking them to remove your name. And if they don't, tell them you will contact everyone they list as a client and state that you will not support any of them as long as this company continues to operate in the manner that they do.
