Didn't call it since it was from a firm calling itself Vehicle Warranty Division Electronic Notification Center.  My vehicle is 10+ years in age so why would anyone be contacting me about something like this.

Dude,

Sniff out a clue. The guy who is calling you using 1-800-649-2568 is spoofing you (intentionally giving your caller ID the wrong number - yes it can be done).

For those of you who don't know 1-800-649-2568 is 1-800-MIX-A-LOT as in Sir Mix-A-Lot as in Baby's Got Back.

Jacob Kimble is a reference to the numerous prank phone calls made using Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice from the movie 'Kindergarten Cop'.

I received a card in the main and knew it had to be a scam because if it was legitimate, it would have come in an envelope from the dealer or car company.  I called anyhow just to see what they would ask.  They asked for the ID # on the card.  They had my name and address.  I asked what the recall was and she said she would get to that and proceeded to ask for the make, model and year of the car ... to which I responded "if it was a recall, she should have that information" to which she said okay and hung up.   The number to call on the card was 1-800-649-1997.  Don't waste your time unless you want to play their game and let them know you know they aren't what they claim to be.  I'm guessing I got the card because of the "do not call list"

Hahaha!  I love all of you!  Thank goodness for Google finding this site!

I got the same obligatory "What's your name, make, model, yadda yadda" crud from them.  What's great is that this car is in my fathers name and I don't care what kind of phone you're on, a 22 year old never sounds like a 60 year old.  I'm just glad I got the mail today rather than him.

It's currently 1:05 and I have these goobers going to call me back around 5:00pm.  "Oh sir, I'm not sure if we can do that because we did just have to pull a few strings to have you receive this coverage as you're a couple hundred miles over it.  The system doesn't recognize that we've placed that on your file if we have to do a callback."

I can't wait for them to call me back.  I'll run them through the rigamarole and let them think I'm really concern.  Heck I might just talk with their "specialist supervisor."

By the way the guy gave me a name of Jacob Kimble.  Well Jakey-boy, prepare to get that nervous dry mouth call center dweebs get when you call them out on something.

My precious wife actually followed up with these folks, and they convinced her she MUST have this warranty.  Once I realized she did a transaction with them, I called back, and demanded they cancel the contract.  The wacked out woman on the phone yelled at me, told me she wasn't my child, and hung up on me.  I called back, same thing happened (times ten).  "Customer Service" employee from the pit of HELL.  We ended up canceling BOTH credit cards they requested (how absurd), but not before these shady, thuggish, piece of crap, crooks charged my card for $195.  DO NOT mess with these losers.  They take advantage of good (and naive) people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I work for a Nissan dealership and bought my wife a Murano about six months ago and have been getting these things ever since. Some of the letters she will call me at work thinking something is up with the car only to find out it is one of these scams. We have customers come in with the contracts they have purchased and the worst thing is seeing these people that have spent big money on ext warrantys only to find out they are no good. Always  purchase these through the dealer most of the time they are less expensive and you actually have coverage when you need it.

I found out that the company is using the public information from DMV and from the dealerships database.  Someone must have a insider pulling the data or buying the lists from them.
I'm forwarding to the Postal Inspector, Better Business Bureau, and FTC for it's an illegal operation that an orginal business - the one who I bought the service contract from said "those individuals are buying the lists from the DMV or Dealerships who sell" your information.
Take this up with your legistators and FTC as the callers ask for your name and if they mailer doesn't answer before you can request to drop your name from the list.

I also got the same card in the mail concerning a 2004 Saturn.  I called the dealership, NOT the number on the card and there were no recalls on my vehicle at all.  If the number 1-800-724-9614 is listed on the card, don't call!

I received numerous phone calls prior to the card.  I asked the following questions:  Why don't you have the make and model of my vehicle?
Have the warranty expired on every vehicle in my town?  I told them to never call my number again and low and behold I got a call right back addressing me as baby.  The conversation blew up in his face, and now I just received the card which I know is bogus.

Hey people, I just got the card "important vhicle info", etc.  and I did in fact call them just now.   they explained that there COULD be a recall, and they asked me all kinds of questions, etc.   finally they said that i need to call my car mfg to ask them about warranty directly (the whole thing is a solicitation)...   they transfered me to the warranty dept.  where they tried to explain why i needed one, etc and how cheap it would be.  2400 dollars!!!!   they are insane!!!!   I said i wasn't interested in it, and they continued to argue with me. , finally, i said i don't want it, and formally decline the offer.  at that point, they transferred me to another dept., to argue some more.    when I spoke to the next person, I said I am declining the offer.   and they continued to argue with me how I need it, etc.   so I said, NO,  I don't want it.  and they argued more.  finally I got mad, and told them the truth.  you guys tricked me into calling you by claiming my car was under a recall, when in fact it was just solicitation shoved nastily down my throat.

i told them I do not want it period, and they rudely said good bye..

i mean, its my car, if I don't want an extended warranty, except it, and stop trying to convince me otherwise.  I know what I need and what I don't need, and these a***oles on the phone won't take NO for an answer. believe me, I was getting PISSED on the phone.

and yes, I may file a complaint with BB&B because of the harrassing way that they are dealing with customers, and high pressure tactics..

it was worse than buying a user car from a sleazy dealership....

The woman on the phone said she was with Dealer Services out of Missouri -she said they worked with dealers across the country.  My IMPORTANT; High Priority Level call to return concerned giving me an opportunity to extend my warranty.  A solicitation.  I may have to complain to my AG becuase this postcard was extremely misleading.  I thought she was going to tell me there was a recall.

I received a mailer also...did not call checked out here first. I had previously been a mechanic and know you can check out recalls via NTHSB and also noticed they had the wrong year listed on the card. I was pretty sure it was someone else trying to reach into my pocket. Caution to all, if you don't know it by now everyone is trying to steal money from you. It is best to be an informed consumer and sites like this are one for the good guys. That is unless I start getting garbage e-mail from here now, which is very possible. Beware

I received the same postcard in the mail, but the Vehicle Type was "ALL" - Probably because my car is 13 years old!.  No other info about the "recall" given.  Thanks for posting your message so that I could verify it was just another scam/marketing ploy.

I just received the same postcard.  Called.  Person was an idiot and started to berate me when I asked why she needed to know how many miles were on the car if there's been a recall.  She put me on indefinite hold.  I suspected a scam and didn't give out any info beyond what was already on the postcard.

The Florida License on the postcard is non-existent.  I'm filing a BBB/FL State Atty General complaint about this deceptive advertising.
