Not sure what this is about, as a recorded message asks me to press "9" to speak to a rep when I answer the phone, and then they put me on hold.  I called them back and asked what the purpose of their call was, and got no response from the person who answered except to be put on hold again!

Left VM even with my greeting saying my name (male).  Have blocked their #.  This is the message:

"This message is for Michelle Couch and only Michelle Couch.  It is intended to be listened to in the presence of others.  This is Asset Acquisition Group.  Please call us back at 1-800-742-3310 as soon as possible. The law requires me to call you that this is a communication from a debt collector."

These people are SCUM!!!!  They called my son while he was in the hospital recovering from spinal surgery.  He was heavily sedated and should not have answered rhe phone, but he was expecting a call from his daughter.  The collector began the call by yelling at him and berating him; when my son told him he was recovering from surgery and not able to talk, the collector berated him and saind if he was well enough to answer the phone, he was well enough to talk
I took the phone and the collector began screaming at me and was extremely abusive; when I refused to put my son back on the phone, he said that when  visiting hours were over and I had to leave, he would keep calling until he got my son -- he then hung up.

This guy called me and was harassing me and my husband said he was from a debt collector he began screaming and yelling at us and he had all of our personal information social security numbers bank records and income tax info. We hung up he called right back we hung up again he called right back left a message and continued yelling and threatening us with a legal battle. We called the police and when they talked to the man he didn't know what there number was and couldn't give any info to the officer. We had to get a credit report and clear up some scams on it because of this company I will have a law suit on them if I find out who it is. He had hung up on the police, and refused more calls from the police dept. Beware these people are harassing and need to be reported to the proper authorities.

Asset Acquisition Group, LLC located at 3025 South Parker Road, Aurora, CO 80014.  I've had similiar dealing with them just recently and you're correct, these people are SCUM.  They are totally unaware of the laws governing debt collection.  My advice is to Google the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act regarding debt collection.  You can also file a complaint with the FTC regarding their debr collection practices.

If you think this is a debt collection company, based on the Fair Credit reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act you can request they not contact you via telephone.  Get informed and Google the FCRA and FDCPA regarding debt collection practices - I would verify the company, request they not contact me via phone at home or work the followup that request with a letter sent certified mail return receipt for delivery confirmation.

Debt Collector
I contacted their Colorado office and spoke with a Mr. Martin.  He's not very familiar with debt collection practices as he threatned to call my employer hr office and have my wages garnished for a debt that does not belong to me.  I assume it was a scare tactic because to garnish wages, this company (Mr. Martin included) would have to initiate court proceesing in the civil arena and prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the debt belonged to me.  A judge could then sign a court order, which would initiate wage garnishment.  Only court orders initiate wage garnishments.  Afterwards, Asset Acquisition, could garnish my wages, depending on the particular state I reside in.  Wage garnishment is not legal in all states so I hope Asset Acquisition/Mr. Martin is familiar with debt collection laws, both federal and state.  I happen to live in a state where wage garnishment is aganist state law.

Debt Collector
Someone called saying they were from an "Assett Allocation Company" and would not give details, just a number telling me to call back.

Probably CitiBank, again, trying to get paid for a bill we included in our Chapter 7 Bankruptcy 5 years ago.  CitiBank just keeps on trying!
