my issue with this company is not only do they keep calling my number they have repeatedly been told that the person whom they seek does not have this number. I have been plagued with calls for this person the entire 6 years I have had this number. obviously the person they are looking for is the previous owner of this number and I block the unwanted caller numbers with call intercept to no avail. When I tell them I am not who they seek they never believe me and call anyways using a new fake number to get through. this really stinks- And I am very frustrated. I don't know what my rights are or what else to do.

Yes, they are debt collectors.  If your in a situation where you are not the person they are seeking & they continually keep calling you I would send them a certified letter stating what the situation is and I would inform them that if this continues you will have to seek legal action.
The people that are calling you are very aggressive and work on comission; they have no mercy.  You need to deal with the higher ups.
They try to use intimidation methods to get you to call them; they might state that they will call your work or come to your house etc.  The legality of it depends on state to state but usually it is not legal for someone to call your work or come to your house, it can be seen as harrassement even if you do owe a company money.

Hope this helps everyone :)

The number is one of Collectcorp's numbers it is used by the Chase Bank Credit card Dept. They have computer programs which will give them a list of phone numbers (family, neighbors, employers) Collectors are alllowed to call these people if they have NOT been able to contact you, and only to verify current address. Collectors will use loopholes to try and pry information out of a nosey neighbor or concerned family member. Do not let Mr. Qureshi intimidate you, or any of them for that matter, they work for commission on dollars collected so they'll do whatever they have to because the base salary is crap. They are a legit company who is very good at breaking the FDCPA and not getting caught for it.

Got a phone call, and they would not identify who they were.  Said they sent a letter today and that I should get it in a couple of days.  I think I am going to wait for the letter.

Just because people have debt doesn't make them bad people. The people who can't pay off their debts are working hard and make jack s***!! People that are well off are the only ones who complain. Were the working class. Get use to it...Go buy something nice for yourselves and leave us alone...we have to work are butts off for peanuts so we can attempt to feed our children.

I recieved a text message from them wanting me to call and talk to Cleo. I called and when they asked for personal info, I made up an crap load of stuff. Fake SS#, address, the works. Apparently, "Cleo" went for it. And no, I'm not the person they were asking for.

They called my mother and asked to talk to me. She told them I didn't live there, and they managed to get her to tell them what state I live in now and for how long. They then asked her to tell me to call them. I Googled the phone number before doing so, and found this website. I'm just a tetch irritated. I have some debt but it is being paid down, ON TIME, and my credit rating is excellent.

The caller gave her information as:

Teresa Mendez
1-800-773-1092, ext. 2772

Thank you.

I received a recorded message call from a "Mr. Gupalov" that was extremely rude. This recording, which could have been played to anyone who answered the phone, had a caller ID that is a local number (and is not listed as a working number). I have a letter here from CollectCorp.... and yep, this number and that name are on it.

One more thing. I mailed a C&D letter to them, and have the green return card right here AND a reply letter stating they would contact the creditor for a validation.

These jerks don't play by the rules, and are clearly worse than us "Deadbeats" who they chase after.

Too many calls asking for a relative and refuse to give details, also keep calling my private number no matter how many times I ask them to take my number of the list. Very disturbing and very rude they say it is against the law to disclose why they keep calling but it is against the law to use my unpublished number.

I have been receiving calls from these people and they are at best "unprofessional."  They come across as someone who is running a telephone scam and go straight for your personal information.  The fair debt collection act requires that they identify who they are.  The recording you get when you call the number sounds like it starts in the middle and is telling you about the call being recorded and before it gets back to the beginning where you think it would identify the Company name they pick up the phone.  A guy named Richard has answered every time I called and he does not seem to know what the call is about.  He transfers me to another man that does not speak good English and has a name that most Americans cannot pronounce and even when I asked who is this, he repeats his name again in a way that I can not understand.  When I asked "Who are you working for, he said they were collecting a debt for Chase.  At no time during the call did anybody ever identify the Company name that they were working for.  They simply said that they were collection a debt for Chase and went back to demanding my SS# which I will never give them.  Then they wanted my mailing address and I refused to give that to them also.  I checked my status with Chase and all is good.  So I ran my credit report and all is good there also.  I was convinced that they were running a telephone scam trying to get personal information to steal my identity until the calls kept coming every day.  Then I searched for info on them and found this.  I do not owe anything and I am being harassed by these "less than decent" individuals.

Look a**le, first, that "money" is being created out of thin air because
it's NOT money that comes from the depositors within their lending institution.  Second, in order for the credit card "agreement" to be a contract in MUST contain FULL DISCLOSURE AND EQUAL PROTECTION! AS PER
CONTRACT LAW!  IF NOT,
IT'S ILLEGAL and they can go shite in a hat., and third jp morgan just
received bailout money FROM US in the billions.

This has been a message from the wake the fuk up corporation.
EXPOSING THE BS ONE TURD (rite wing wack job) AT A TIME!

Thank You.

They text me "please call Mark at 18007731092"

I will not be calling.  I have no unpaid debts, so this must be a number used my another company, or they have the wrong number.  Seems unprofessional to send an unsolicited text message.

Debt Collector
Have been getting calls from Collectcorp about a past due charge from Chase Card services.  I have never had an account with Chase, as verified by multiple calls to Chase Card departments, and have no outstanding debts outside of my personal bank.  I requested that Collectcorp tell me the nature of the charge..ie what item was purchased, what location was the charge made from or service provided and they said they didn't have that information.  I have never received any letters from either Chase or Collectcorp and their phone agents are not keeping track of when they call us or what was I stated to them about this issue.....Just more harassing calls
The next day I got another call from them asking for my wife and they gave me the same story.....Sounds like a scam to me....

Have you noticed the economy is in the s****er right now. Maybe some people can't afford to pay even the smallest bill because of that. Maybe you should try common courtesy and understanding before you put others down. Karma is a bi*** you know and it will come back for you.

They're dead beats because they haven't payed for a while. Loan places dont go to that lengths after they haven't payed for a while. If you don't know how to live within your means, don't use credit.

You are right, as I don't have any debts I am not paying, as I have two jobs, plus I am going to school.  So I don't know why they would be calling be.  So, with all of that going on, there is no way I could be classified as a Dead Beat...and at least I can spell.
