Something sent in the mail like this falls under the postmasters jurisdiction, you can file a complaint here:

My dad just finished probate after my moms death. He received this letter too. Thank god he brought it to me. He was going to pay this. I called the number and said my peace to the foreigner that answers phone. This needs to be put in media. So many people will get ripped off.

Our client just called us and said they received it and thought it had to do with work we had recently done with them. Good thing I googled the number! When I dialed the number, alll their representatives were conviently 'On the other line'...

I had a check for $89 written out and in the envelope when my gut feeling told me to research the address and phone number on my letter. I recently my home deed switched into my name and received a letter from Local Records Office saying I need to send $89 to get the only document that identifies me as the property owner. Even has my acreage square foot year built of my home information and looks like a letter from the state. The address on my letter is 925B Peachtree St. NE #745 Atlanta, GA 30309 phone # 800-775-9095. I am so glad I googled and found out this is a scam!!!!!

Same here. Got a letter from them, after I bought a house. Looks official, but note, there no where on it saying it's from a gov't agency. For $89, they'll send a copy of the deed & other records regarding the property I bought. Records I could get from a real gov't agency. Check them out on the internet, & found this site(it's a good thing to be a little paranoid).

They are offering us paperwork to show we own the home (we just refinanced) for an $89 fee. What a friggin scam! The address is a UPS Store where they have a mailbox.
