I keep getting calls from 1-800-777-3333 on my cell phone...I called the number back and got a recording saying the number has been hijacked and the FBI have been notified. The callers sound Middle Eastern. It's definitely a scam and needs to be stopped.

I've been getting calls from this number also. It started on 10/2/2008 and they have called me on my cell phone 7 times. most of them have been hang ups, however, the last one a man with an accent told me that I have been selected to recieve a free 3 night hotel stay and a gas card at no charge to me. He said that he was calling from American Shopping Centers... When I asked what "American Shopping Centers" was he said "It's just like a shopping center." After he went through his pitch, he said "OK?!" When I said "No, not OK! I still don't know who you are." He disconnected the line. I called the number back and there is a recording for insurance of some sort..... definatley a scam!

Apparently, my husband won a vacation from a form he filled out while we were picking up some Chinese food at a local restaurant. They wanted a $75.00 booking fee. Garbage!!!

My husband and I received calls from this number so I picked it up one night. Same Indian accent. He said I won a camera. When I told him, nicely, that I wasn't interested and to remove me from his calling list he told me "No." When I told him it was late he said he knew it was and proceeded to curse at me. The second night I told him I had called the police and he laughed at me and told me there was nothing the police could do because they could not trace them. He then proceeded to talk foul to me. I grabbed my cel phone to call the police and put my husband on the phone. He didn't like what my husband had to say but refused to hang up! We hung up the phone and picked it up to make an outgoing call and the guy was still on the other end!! We get atleast 3 calls a day from this #. Husband called the phone company and they said there is nothing they can do about it. Even if you are unlisted they somehow get access to your number. My advice- do not answer!

i got called by this company 5 times today, and the 3rd and 4th time, i told them to take me off the list. the 5th, almost incredulous, i picked up and when it was the same indian accent, i snapped. i yelled at him for a couple minutes, and then asked for his supervisor. his supervisor comes on and i started yelling at him, too. incredibly, he KEPT SAYING IT WAS ONLY $3.95 for shipping and handling. I snapped out of my furor, and asked him for what was it only $3.95 for shipping and handling. he told me:
"an a**. and a dick. we are sending you an a** and a dick. and if you act now, we will send you a boob." then he laughed.
i swear on my life.
then, the supervisor gave me back to the original guy who confirmed.
it's annoying, this telemarketing. and all this outsourcing. but it's nice to know there's real people on the other line, having fun with their s****y situations, making all manner of connections to strangers, oceans away.

First I would call FCC( Federal Communication Commission)They have a hot line for calls like this
peeved about it 2008-10-02 19:09:34 Unknown
The name they give is american shopper. I have been getting about 2 calls a day for the last 3 days. They just hang up on me when i ask them to stop calling, at least i havn't been cursed out yet. The same thing happened to me about a year ago from a different number but they were much worse, calling sometimes 7 times a day.

I keep getting calls from 1-800-777-3333 on my cell phone...I answered it last night and some terrorist from the Middle East was telling me I won a digital camera and or a trip. I immediately told him to NOT CALL my cell phone, because I don't do business with terrorist. He was pissed!...now I have been getting blown up with calls 5 or 6 a day?I would recommend just not answering. It?s a scam!!!

OMG>>>this indian guy called me all day today and when i finally answered and told him i wasnt interested in the vacation give away... he told me to shut up and listen. I asked him where he was calling from and he said LA. I said I was not far from LA and I would gladly meet hime some where to pick up my gift.(i knew it was a hoax, but wanted to see what he would say) Then, the jerk, threatened myself said he was going to slash my throat, and said he was going to f*** my wife, and suck on her n******. Can this guy really know where I live?? How do i get him to stop callin me? My wife is petrified and so am I.....what

Same as all the other comments. The Indian accented man told me that the only way for me to be removed off the list was for me to throw out my (brand new) phone!!!! He was completely rude. I hope the FBI can catch them.

KC:
If you get a call from 800-777-3333 telling you that you won something it is fraud. They have somehow used the National Fire Adjustment 800 number to rip you off. The real company who has the number has a message that says this is fraud and has been reported to the feds. And yes, that guy was impossible to understand!

Husband just informed me that he got like 10 calls from 1-800-777-3333....he called back and a recorded message said it was a scam or something....who the hell is this guy, and how did he get my husbands phone #??????????????????
Mz. Q 2008-10-02 00:47:31 Unknown
I started receiving these calls today...I didn't even bother answering since it was an 800 number. I waited to call back and got the National Fire Adjustment Company saying that it was a scam. Came home did my research and found this site as well as the National Fire Adjustment company's website. My question is how the heck do these people get our cell phone #'s? It's not like they are listed in a directory or anything..this is so not cool and not to mention illegal considering they are covering up their real number with a reputable company's #. Next time they call back I WILL answer just to f*** with them!
LJ 2008-10-01 16:28:37 Unknown
I i been getting these calls for 3 days now
NA 2008-10-01 16:19:41 Unknown
Is that the full number. 91 is the country code for India. I received one at 91-000-0000000. If you get the full number you can narrow it down to the specific region...but there's not much else to do from there.
NA 2008-10-01 16:10:54 Unknown
I blocked the number but now I am getting an international call. 910-000-00000 is the new number.
eskimonose 2008-10-01 15:09:12 Unknown
I'm getting calls too, but I always look a number up before I answer if I don't recognize the number. I definately am not going to answer this one!
mb 2008-10-01 00:25:11 Unknown
I received same call today several times. No one was on the line when I answered, but I called back and it was the National Fire something. Glad I'm not the only one.
force 2008-09-30 23:12:40 Unknown
No letter from Certegy Checks or text messages. You can, however, go through your wireless company and have the number blocked. They said they don't know if they can stop the texts, but they can block the calls.
force 2008-09-30 22:02:28 Telemarketer
Same thing happened as all the other posts. When I said to take me off the call list he told me there was nothing I could do about him calling and the only way he would stop is if I accepted his prize. I told him I would report it and he told me "Shut up, M****F****". I tried everything to get this company's name, but nothing. I contacted the Federal Trade Commission and put my number on the National Do Not Call List. The FTC said to call back with a name of a company. I can't understand the guy when he tells me the name, so if anyone can post the name, it would be great.

Same thing keeps happening to me the last 2 days. This is ridiculous! Get rid of the SOB! Stop this @#$%

I was just wondering if any of you got the letter from Certegy Checks saying your information had been possibly jeopardized. I received that letter and shortly after I started getting these phone calls. I had to shut down text messages and everything cause I was getting so many. Maybe they are connected?

I received a call yesterday afternoon from this same number. Like others, the caller had a very thick accent and I had to ask him to repeat himself multiple times. I finally told him I wasn't interested, my number is on the national do not call list, and they better remove my number from their calling rotation.
I just got another call 13 minutes ago. I told the caller about my response to yesterday's call and said I was going to press charges for calling. He hung up.
Red 2008-09-30 02:05:11 Unknown
I called the number back as well, after receiving numerous calls from it. The National Fire Adjustment Company stated that someone has hacked their number and is running a scam. They stated someone will call you and try to say you won a prize in an attempt to get your personal information. They then stated that there is no prize, and you should not give out any personal info.

Just got a call on my cell. I tylically would have ignored it, but I was tied up with something at work and didn't bother to look at the caller ID. When I answered he hung up.
