Just got a call from National Courier Services claiming that they had to urgently give me a package from my last employer. I asked him why and he said that it was a 7 lb. electronic device that I was to get ASAP. I told him that I didn't expect anything from them since I have been out of work from that company for 2 years, and unemployed all together for 2 years. He seemed a little off when I told him I was out of work and have no income at all. He knew who I worked for, my address, my full name, and my parents address, and their phone number. Apparently, after reading everyones postings, this is a scam. Here I thought that I was being reconsidered for a job with my past employer. What a waste of time.

a lady by the name of sarah called and left a msg stating they had a package from me and needed a physical address to deliver. i called back and left a msg. she called back from a local landline number in my area. she stated that they can't deliver to a p.o. box and needed my physical address and wanted to verify my birthdate. i told her i am not expecting any package and to return it to sender. i said that i am having an attorney and private investigator to look into this as this may be from id theft. i asked her full name, and she hesitated on her last name "johnson". i called the local number that wa on my caller i.d. (808) 628-5902 and a person answered saying it was an engineering company. i asked for 'sarah' and they said i had the wrong number. what a scam. i checked here and found out that my hunch was right. Glad that this site exists. Thank you!

Be careful of this 1-800-801-2279 number. They claim that you have a refund coming to you. But they need to verify your name address employment an physical address to.
I asked them why they just don't send certified and mail, why do you need to deliver? They wouldn't give info on what was refunded. I just changed cell number and they called me on my new number.
I refuse to give out info.

Verrrrry Interesting--I have been getting calls at least 3 times a day/eve from 866-849-3243. Never answered. I looked it up here and found a very long thread. What's interesting is-since my encounter with 800-801-2279 as posted above- the calls from 3243 stopped. Coincidence? Hmmm

This company has now called a place where I could possibly work ( it's in my field) and told the switchboard that I was buying a car and that they were a dealership looking for a character reference. The switchboard knew who I was but I don't work there and called me. These a***oles have gone TOO FAR!!! Who knows where else in the world that have called asking about me? I DON'T HAVE ANY DEBT!

I think this company called me posing as a company that I applied for a job a couple of years ago. Since they 'spoofed' their number ( they made it look like it was coming from the employer where I placed a resume) I fell for it. Now I am screwed, I don't know who these people are, I don't have any debt, but for some reason I am suddenly getting these calls. I am wondering if it's because I am easily 'Googled' with my phone numbers. Oh I am pissed and scared. They called my cell phone.

Got a call from a woman who said she was from National Employment Agency and was looking for Melinda to offer a job, even referenced past employer here in town.  She also asked if Melinda was still in Hawaii. The woman seemed to know a lot about her. What she didn't know was Melinda is my husbands ex wife and has never been associated with our phone number.  I won?t be answering that number again.  Does anyone know if debt collector or a scam?  Who do we go to with complaints?

Just got the second call today. She was looking for a neighbor. Her ?name? Kelsey Brown. Her ?business? Manpower Employment. Her phone # ?866-217-0463? When I questioned her about why a Washington business would be calling N.Y. about employment she said that they have two offices. One in Seattle--btw-at 7234 Blundell Rd. Seattle--and one in N.Y. I asked for the N.Y. office address and she said that she was new and didn't know it. I said that I could hear many other people in her "office" so maybe she could ask one of them. She started to become annoyed and asked Do you want the job or not?" I asked her why I would want a job? You didn't call and ask for me? I then asked her if she knew who she was talking to. When she said no I told her that I was a fraud agent with the Federal Trade Commission and that's why I wanted her information. CLICK!!!!!! ROFLMAO

Debt Collector
Caller pretending to have a package from JC Penny's that needs to be delivered. They called my cell phone which is on the do not call registry asking for information about my roomate. They ask if i am a relative.  I advised that i do not give out personal information about people and if that is the address they have than they should deliver it to that address. The woman started to get angry with me.  They also called his work yesterday in which his boss started giving them information that he shouldn't have. Obviously they must need a signature for their collection papers. Liars.  It seems that we all need to complain to the BBB or to wherever we need to submit a complaint.  Does anyone here know?

I got my first call from them today at 7AM!!! I said, first... YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW. You cannot call before 8AM. Second, there is no one here by that name.

I'm going to start asking these callers for their personal info. Maybe if the get nervous, they'll quit calling me.

Received a call from "Nationwide Delivery" saying they had a package for my husband and they had the wrong apartment number.  It's a bit scary because he was able to tell me my street name, he just didn't have my apartment number.  He then asked what my husbands employer's name was and he asked for my name and my husband's date of birth. At this point I told him he was asking for too much information and asked what they were trying to deliver.  He then responded that they were delivering an economic stimulus check for 270 dollars from the state of TN, and that they would be by in 15-30 minutes.  Hopefully I didn't make a huge mistake by telling my husband's Date of Birth.

They just called claiming they where a fedex company..not a UPS company i tink they know that people are on to them. They called and said that they where my old dad's job company and that they where sending him a package from JcPenny. They said that their driver was on their way. But that they were charging a $40 delivery fee. They also said that they needed a password which is the name of his new job company. But i did not give them any information. Then they called back from a fed ex number (which was actually the fed ex companys number because i checked it online). Once again they asked about where my father currently works at. They were very persistant with that question. SO my dad went up to fed ex and they told him that no one from their office called. But they warned him that there has been alot of scamming goin on with people using computers to steal companys numbers and that there are some mobster that apparently do that as well..So be careful!. DO not give out ANY information out to anyone..but we do believe that is a debt collector tho.

several calls were received from this number to my employer on the same day asking to verify information about an employee. that employee was me. they called almost every extension in my office in which they retrieved from our call directory hoping that someone there would be foolish enough to reveal information about me. after being connected to Human Resources...they advised they were calling from United Auto Credit and that I had applied for a car loan and needed to verify my employment. Seriously...you'd be lucky to get a car loan nowadays. LOL! Meanwhile, they have way to much time on thier hands. I realize that it's tough to make a living ...but get a life people or find a better way to make ends meet :)

You guys are GREAT!

Got a hang-up call.  Decided to Google the number, since it was 1-800.  (I supply services to businesses, so I'm always interested when the phone rings).

As I'm finding this page, the number rings again, so I answer it.

The ploy was she was calling on behalf of a professional looking for a job, who listed us as a reference.

So I say "what, no UPS deliveries?  No flowers?"  I then tell her I have looked up the number on Google, and there are some crappy posts about the number she was calling from.

She reiterated she was with a National Employment Agency, and just wanted info about this person.  I told her I would neither confirm or deny knowing such a person (and I ain't tellin' here, either!).

FLASH FORWARD 1 HOUR

One of my utility companies call and ask if my wife just tried to call them.  I said "no", and she proceeds to tell me this person just called her, had access to my wife's SSN, and an old address, and was PRETENDING TO BE MY WIFE, at the old home, and told her the old house's electricity account was obviously still in service. (All of which both the electricity company and we know to be a bald-face lie, for reasons I will not go into here).

Seriously.  Seriously.  Whoever it is, me thinks they are breaking laws right and left to get information.

Received several calls from this number and they left messages stating it's A-1 Courier Services... and they had a package for me from a nearby town.  I knew it was fishy... because I wasn't expecting any packages.  I called the number they left for me at 888-595-1493 and it was an automated answering system that wasn't very sophisticated for a supposed delivery company... and to top it off, no live answer at all.  These numbers and these callers are very suspect... PLEASE BEWARE!!!

ok so absolutly no idea who this is. i did get a call and they left no message, i checked this site and no one here knows exactly who it is either so i called it back and got the same as you all, the message box is full and can not recieve new messages.

so i will say that the odds are this is more a bill collector then a telemarketer, i rarly get telemarketer calls on my cell phone, and i do get bill collection calls everyday. from my experience, i would in fact say this is most likely a bill collector and they use phone lines like this as a "phishing line" and to scam people.

i fully recommend do not answer and do not call back.
just learn to ignore it nd delete form the caller id and forget it.
dont waste your time, they are an inconvience to you and you are a better quality of a person then scammers and phishers and POS's.

i hope this helps, delete thier call and have a noce day. i will.
