Called and asked for a character reference, but after I talked to my friend who said they haven't applied for jobs in years.

the called me said there where with U J P a job placement service they had all my info includeing where i lived my dob and past employment history i found it fishy so i googled them and it brought me to this web site they said they where going to be sending me a packege so ill see what happens

they called my mother in law the week previous to calling me about a great reference letter my previous employer had written and then called myself and said the same thing they also had more info than they should have as i had not been on any job searches since leaving my last job. had drawn up a new resume through an online service but how would they have my mother in laws number.  also said they would be sending something through the mail..

They are now using another number 866-594-6468
After getting a few phone calls from the 800-801-2954 number and it being reported, they've switched now to the 866 number and hanging up.  They say nothing when i answer the phone, they just hang up!!  When i call both numbers back to hang up on them, I get a recording saying" their mailbox is full".  I so want to go off on these b*****ds.

I reported this number to the Federal Trade Commission.

I a call from this number every morning around 6 a.m 800 801 2954, I just ignore it, since I know it's usually a scam, or some sort of collection agency.  anyways last night I went to bed late and this call comes in at 6:30 a.m. I answer and right away this person tells me a package was sent to my house yesterday and was undeliverable, mr ??? I said Im not this person and F*** off, never call this number again! and hung up, a second later he calls back to ask me if I kiss my mother with these lips, I can tell hes just a stupid little kid, I told him what he just did was illegal, when told not to call this number again, he is supposed to stop... I told him FU again, and hung up... I want to know where to report this number for harassment...

Yes I received a call yesterday from someone informing me that he had a check for me, and asked me to verify my date of birth which I did, I feel so stupid...please let me know what I can do to avoid anyone trying to ruin my credit anymore than what it is. Thank you.

I got a call from this number today.  A woman said she was with Express Delivery Service and asked to speak to Fern (and my last name).  I felt like she was up to something, so I said, "There's no one here by that name."  She then asked if I knew Fern.  I told her I don't.  She then said, "Well, I guess we'll just have to send the package back to the sender."  I was thinking to myself, "Why would a disinterested party, who just told you she doesn't know someone, even care tht you're going to send their package back?  Also, if you return a package to sender just because someone at a wrong phone number doesn't know them, then you run a poor business."  Anyway, at that point, based upon her response, I was sure she was up to something.

It gets worse------

About 30 minutes later, I got a text from my wireless provider, telling me that my account passcode had been changed, and if I didn't authorize the change, to call them.  Well, I called them IMMEDIATELY!  Normally, when I call in, the automated system asks for my passcode.  After I enter it, it then transferrs me to customer service.  This time, the system notified me that my passcode was incorrect.  I had to go thru other motions to get to customer service.  When I got thru, I explained what had just happened.  Because I was calling from my cellular number, and could verify deeper security questions, they knew it was me.  They then told me that a woman had just called in, said she was me, verified the last 4 of my SS#, verified the account balance, verified the address, then asked that my automated billing be changed to paper billing.

I don't know why all that was done, but its' rather scary to know that she went to those lengths!  I'm now in the process of changing and re-coding other accounts and passwords!

got a call from this number saying had a package from sears to deliver to me. said it had been paid for and was insured for 240 dollars. had a old address of mine. wanted to know where and when he could deliver my prepaid package. i gave him a place date and time. we will see if he shows up.

Got the same call scenario.  the local UPS store number was spoofed as the caller id; they want to deliver a package from a place that has no record of shipping me anything.  I think it's a debt collector trying to get info.

Called several times and the man said he was with UPS and wanted to deliver a state refund check and wanted to make sure that someone would be at the residence to sign. They knew the home address, work phone number and cell phone number. He called another time and a different number showed on the caller ID and when I called that number back it went to a UPS store. They said that they had not called and the track # the man gave me was not a valid number.

First call said unknown name, unknown number....they have been calling alot, so I answered.  The man was asking lots of questions about my neighbor, after the questions got weird, I hung up.  The phone rang again, immediately, showing this 800#....it was the same person...he asked for me....when I said yes, he hung up.  I hadn't given him my name.

Said that they were the call center for Sears and had a pre-paid package to deliver. Wanted me to verify my employer and gave me the name of a company that I have not worked at in many years. I told the caller that I did not want the package delivered until I knew who was sending it because I have not ordered anything from Sears.

Wanted to deliver a package and asked all these questions and said they tried to deliver.. They wanted a code word. Very strange
