could be...
and I thought I was paranoid.
It's the NSA doing a microphone check.
Just say 'testing ... one... two... three...'
then they will know that you are on to them and stop....
piltdown man 2014-06-19 04:04:14 Unknown
Look, the do not call number is worthless.
The government doesn't care.
However, just to make it interesting, perhaps if you talk about blowing things up and your hatred for the current administration (republicrats), you might get the attention of the NSA and they might pay attention...
Of course if I was paranoid, I'd think it was the NSA, and they were just checking their microphones...
I think it's safe to say that politicians are only interested in getting your vote, or your money to buy someone else's vote

So if Political Calls are exempt from the DNC List why aren't they disclosing who they are on the CID? The same goes for charity calls. I just don't understand why they waste money on cold calling people anyway. People don't want to be bothered with that crap. It is a waste of money and time. Also if they are legit and exempt there should be no reason why they don't leave a voice mail.

Countless phone calls from this number. They do not leave a message...big surprise. I don't answer, but it's becoming annoying.
annoyedannoyed 2014-05-13 01:45:47 Unknown
Thanks for keeping a list of these annoying callers. With caller ID and my Panasonic phone, I'm still annoyed, but I:
- Google (or Bing) the caller's phone number
- If there's a long list of complainers, then I know I can safely block the number
- On my Panasonic KX-TG6841, I save the caller ID into my block list
It doesn't stop the first call, but I'm much more at peace knowing that they'll get blocked if they ever call me again.

Correct, political calls are exempt...but this 800 isn't a political call. It is a scam.
Consumer 2014-04-25 23:31:21 Unknown
BINGO!!! This is why we won't answer this 800 number - as I posted above, the reason I won't answer my cell when the 805 area code number shows up...answering only validates your tel. #. They will change the number slightly anyway...what is so messed up is we are on the Do Not Call List, and have an unlisted number(s)...we pay for something that doesn't work...meanwhile, these creeps continue on, and on...
Consumer 2014-04-25 23:27:58 Unknown
IF ONLY THAT WERE TRUE. The National Do Not Call Line is not always going to work. It doesn't work with automated dialing from a computer...our landline gets calls from this number chronically...my cellphone has been blown up for over a week, by a different number...805 area code, had it blocked through our cellphone carrier, and less than 24 hours later, this 805 number calls begin again...only the last two digits are different...
This 800 number does the same thing.

Political or Charity can call all they want.
Oh, also any company you've ever had a "business relationship" with. "Relationship" definition is rather incestuous, however; sort of, if you ever subscribed to a magazine using your credit card, then anyone else using the same card can call you for any reason? Not quite but close.
Irritating.

I too get calls from this number every day/week it comes over as unknown, it never rings long enough, even if I wanted to answer. I wish there was a way to put a stop to these calls other than blocking the number.

Get nomorobo.com. Set up on your landline . It works!

Call repeatedly day after day after day. We tell them not to call, take our number off their list (and other things we don't want to repeat here) and they still call We asked what the company is and they said ADG. It is a nuisance and aggravating. Does anyone know of a way to get them to stop calling?

I received a call from this number and as soon as I answered they hung up. I called back and got a recording from Political Outreach Organization stating they are trying to get people to vote. Why then do they hang up when you answer???
JohnB 2014-01-24 21:36:13 Unknown
Suggest you remove that number from your post or you'll be getting more calls. Also, the folks that called you will not see your response - this is not the do not call list.

Boy are you clueless. Where are you getting your information? Post links proving what you say is true - I know you can't.

Do Not Call Registry is BS!!!! after I put my numbers on it the telemarketer calls started comming like mad.
They sell your phone numbers to businesses for $59 a business cal get all the phone numbers in one area code. The first five area codes are free. They get thousands of numbers this way.
I am really tired of being harrassed by telemarketers because of the Do Not Call Registry!!!
Jesse 2013-10-16 23:44:53 Unknown
DO not call registry does not apply to political surveys
Me 2013-08-30 22:40:55 Unknown
So elena, how many complaints have you filed? And how much time & money did you invest before you saw any action on your complaint? How far did you take your complaint? Did you threaten to sue the harassers? And if so, how ever did you find a lawyer who agreed to take the case? How did you convince a judge or jury that you were "harmed" by these callers? And did you really catch the crooks before they could dump their number, disappear, & get a new number to harrass again? I hope you see my point: it's just too much trouble, too many hoops to jump through. Yes, all we can to is "B" & moan!
Don't Bother! 2013-08-30 22:30:27 Unknown
The Do Not Call List is useless! First of all, if the call is from a nonprofit or political survey company (as this one seems to be), they are exempt from the DNC law. I've gotten more calls like this & from scammers in general since I put my numbers on the DNC List than ever before. I figure callers are using the DNC List as a source for numbers. Reporting them is a waste of time. Just get caller ID & don't pick up any number you don't recognize.
Bob 2013-08-28 22:03:01 Unknown
This number called and came up unavailable. Didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I'm so tired of these calls. I'm on the do not call list and it doesn't matter !!
Marie 2013-08-22 16:47:17 Unknown
Caller ID says UNAVAILABLE. A legit political polling firm (my city is in the middle of a cutthroat election) would put its name on Caller ID. No name? Talk to the voicemail bot!
DTD 2013-08-22 13:41:04 Unknown
Bullsh*t I have filed many complaints with the DNC list it does nothing. I don't even think the registry is actually maned.
jesse 2013-08-07 20:39:43 Unknown
It is useless because 90% of the people who register their numbers would rather whine and swear about violations instead of filing a complaint. I have spoke to people at the Do Not Call registry and they need more than afew people filing complaints before they can initate an investigation. So use this link
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
and not this board and MAYBE they will be able to do something.
