This is a legitimate # from Vanguard about missing information in an application I mailed out. This # is not listed on their website. So I decided to call the main contact # listed on the Vanguard website that I usually call.

Got a call from Vanguard as well. This is legit. They were calling about a check that I had sent in. The automated system asks for your social security number, but I hit "0" and got a real person who only asked me for the last 4 of my social and my zip, plus one of my security questions.

Vanguard calling ref. a recent request we made by mail that did not have all the necessary forms/signatures. I was uncomfortable being asked personal security questions to validate my identity when it was they who initiated the call.
I called Vanguard back using their online customer service #, and they told me that they had called and why.

Got a call from Vanguard which was where I had an IRA account. No problem.

After some research I found that this was a legitimate call from Vanguard. They wanted to update the address on my account which was out of date.
