Got a call from a rude, semiliterate fellow regarding my mortgage payment.  Tried to pay it before 2 yesterday but they could not do it without my routing #.  What is it, 1985?  I was driving at the time so figured I would pay the fee.  I can tell he called before looking to see that I had payed early this morning online while he was still in his crack induced sleep.

I RECEIVED TWO CALL FROM THIS SAME ENTITY CLAIMING TO REPRESETN BB&T TWICE TODAY, THE FIRT TIM AT 11:05 AND THE SECOND TIME AT 8:17 P.M..  I COMPLAINED EACH TIME ABOUT THE CALLS TO BB&T AND CLLED THE CALLS HARASSMENT.  MY HUSBAND WAS ONE DAY LATE IN AKING A MORTGAGE PAYMENT BECAUSE HIS CLIENT DID NOT PAY HIM UNTIL TODAY.  HE SENT IN THE PAYMENT ELCTRONCIALLY WITH A LATE FEE, AND STILL RECEIVED TELEPHONE HARASSMENT THIS EVENING.  I REPORTED THE HARASSMENT A FEW MINUTES AGO ELECTRONICALLY TO THE FTC AS WELL AS TO MY STATE SENATOR IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.  I THOUGHT THAT MY LETTER TO THE FTC WAS SIMPLY TOO GOOD TO WASTE WITHOUT SENDING A CC OF THAT LETTER TO SOMEONE.  I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE DEAL IS GOING ON AT BB &T BUT I THINK THAT IT IS A LOT MORE THAN PREVENTING FORCLUSURES.  MY HUSBAND HAS NEVER BEEN MORE THAN A DAY LATE IN MAKING MORTGAGE PAYMENTS--EVER!  BOTH TIMES THE CALLS RECEIVED WERE FROM VERY IGNORANT SOUNDING SOUTHERNERS.  THE FIRST CALL RECEIVED CAME IN FROM AN IGNORANT SOUNDING BLACK WOMAN.  THE SECOND CALL CAME FROM AN IGNORANT SOUNDING SOUTHERN WHITE WOMAN.  I'M NOT SURE WHAT  IS GOING ON.  WHEN I THINK OF ALL OF THE TRULY EDUCATED PEOPLE WHO ARE WITHOUT JOBS, I CANNOT UNDERSATND WHY BB&T WOULD HIRE SUCH INGNORANT SOUNDING PEOPLE TO SERVE AS DEBT COLLECTORS, ANYWAY.  PERSONALLY, I THINK THAT SOME KIND OF SCAM IS BEING PERPETRATED WITHIN THE COMPANY, BUT I CANNOT BE SURE OF THAT.  THESE ARE DESPERATE TIMES AND DESPERATE PEOPLE OFTEN MAKE LOTS OF MISTAKES.  IN ADDITION, USUALLY MOST CRIMINALS HAVE LOW IQS, SO IT IS NOT SURPRSING THAT REALLY IGNORANT SOUNDING SOUTHERNERS WOULD BE TRYING TO PETPETUATE THIS, IGNORANT SOUTHERN BLACKS AND IGNORANT SOUTHERN WHITES TEAMING UP TOGETHER.  HOWEVER, I HAVE HAD SIMILAR CALLS FROM HISPANICS AND ASIANS LATELY,TOO.  SOME FORMS OF ORGNZED CRIME HIRE PEOPLE ACROSS A WIDE VARIETY OF ETHNICITIES TO TRY TO ATTACK THEIR "MARK." Are calling me every day. When I got my statement yesterday that showed my account not being credited for the payment I made last month, I called them. They reassured me that it was an error in the system and would be credited. But I'm still getting the calls.

It is BB&T and let me tell you, they will call several times a day, Saturdays and Sundays!

I don't work for BB&T and after our experiences with them I certainly would never do so. We have a mortgage with them so I can verify that this is a legitimate phone number for them. However, it doesn't ring their local branch if you call it. It rings their national mortgage branch. If you wait and don't pay your mortgage until you are in the grace period [prescribed and agreed upon within the mortgage contract you sign with them] they will call you ever single day even though you always pay them before the end of the grace period. They will hound the H**l out of you while you are trying to get work done to pay them.

My rant:

Up until the economy came apart we were not by any means rich but we had a considerable amount of money put aside in savings and had a large majority of that with BB&T. Somehow, we've always managed to pay our mortage before the end of the grace period even as our backup money ran out.

We didn't want to short sale, modifiy our loan, or otherwise default on our mortgage so we hung in there. During this time my wife was working full time and going to school for her master's and for a while she was the only earner till I could get something else going because my field was going nowwhere except backwards. We were trying to come up with a "total package" so that our munchins didn't have to be latchkey refuges [putting our family first,what a concept!]. On several occasions during this period, we approached BB&T about consolidation of our credit card debits along with our mortgages to make things more manangeable. After paying thousands of dollars down [and I mean thousands in cash] on our second morgage as a good faith gesture and hopefully a way to bolster our credit rating for refinance, they rewarded us with freezing the second mortgage so that it was stuck at a variable rate [worked out for us so far because it hasn't gone up as of yet, but will soon]  instead of trying to somehow make it less likely that we'd default by giving us some relief. We didn't want them to forgive our debt or reduce it, mind you, we just wanted a way to catch up and not have to eat mac and cheese ever night. Oh, their excuse [we are sorry but] you just don't comply with the current guidelines either ours or the gubtards. Before you say, well they are blaming the the bank for their bad financial choices...no we are not...we own up to that, they just took an already bad situation and took it to the next level- not much un-like what we now have politically.

Now my wife is out of school and has a higher paying job. I have a business that is getting better by the day not because the enconomy is that much better but because I've found a niche that others don't want to deal with but I enjoy and it keeps the munchins from being abandoned while we are both working. We plan on refinancing with another bank and closing all BB&T checking and savings accounts within this year. Afterwards we will throw a modest but well earned party to celebrate ridding ourselves of them.

We've payed down a considerable amount of credit card debt; so much so that I cancelled my two business credit cards because I now have a reserve of cash that I use for business dealings some of which is loaded on a debit card when needed. Neither credit card company could believe that I was cancelling them. They said, "well you know it will hurt your credit rating...who gives a r@ts @ss about a credit rating if yours is reasonably good [like mine was for most of the time including now] but does nothing for you because of loan "games". Come to find out it only dings your credit rating for a short period of time from what we could see. I told the credit card companies I was forming my own bank. The bank of me and my family. I had twice the amount in savings as what they'd give me on my card. Those were joyful days. I wish you all the best if you've been struggling like we have.

Almost forgot, now their [BB&T] robo phone caller will ring us, our answering machine will pick up, and then an automated message will say, "sorry your call cannot be completed at this time because of high caller volume" or something to that effect. Really, BB&T? You called us. WE CERTAINLY DIDN'T CALL YOU!

I/we will not soon forget those that didn't stand by us when the going got tough.

I have been recieving about 3 calls a day stating that they are from BB& T Mortgage, automated. The message tells me to hold for an operator and after two minutes the come on the line and another automated voice comes on and tells me that due to the high volume of calls, they will not be able to take MY call ( like I was the one that called them) and that I should call back later. Every time I answer, this happens, every time.
First BBT denied that the calls were coming from them, then I called the mortgage department and they admitted the calls had originated from their automated center. My mortgage payments are all up to date, I confirmed this by calling the mortgage number and talking with an actual person. Not twenty minutes later I recieve another automated call who did not have time to talk to me. BB&T, DO NOT CALL ME IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MANPOWER TO ACTUALLY SPEAK TO ME!

We keep getting calls many times a day and this is a business and there is no way to contact them in order to stop the calls.

I recieved a call at 6:17 p.m. for which I perfromed a star-57 tace.  The recetion from the call was horrible.  It came from 800-827-3722 and purportedly was from a woman from BB&T bank, regardinding our mrotgage.  I called my husband to the phone;  he picked up the xtesnion, and the woman asked whether or not we wanted to keep our home/  The call was from a supposed forclosure prevention service, and my husband has two home financed through this bank and was one week late on the check, which he explained to the scaller that he had just paid, that we a=wanted to keep both hoem, one of which is a rental property wfor which my husband intends to retire.  The rental property is in an adjoining state.  I felt that the call was completely uncalled for.  My hsuband has never missed a marotage payment at all.  However, in my opinion there is something strange about all of this.  I am completely unable to obtain emplyment atall-- full time and part-time, with mutliple teaching endorsements-- and this has been the entire time in wihch we have been married.  My husband has had various kinds of diffiuclties in emplyment which I will not specify.  He is currently emplyed and works one fulltime and part9t9em job with two different emplyers in our state-- however, it has occurred to me that perhaps a kind of foreclusre scam may be in operation, as paranoid as it sounds-- to make if diffiuctl for couples to retain and may the mortgages on their homes.  We have never missed a payment;  hwoever, this mortgage situation appears to me to be a bit cotnrived.  I hope that an investigtor sees me for more details.

Legitimate number for BB&T, just confirmed when given this number by the local branch. I absolutely hate BB&T but this is the real deal. Reporting that I owe them $34,000 after I had to file bankruptcy and it was discharged.

As I saw the answering machine blinking, I first looked at the numbers called on the phone caller list.  I have not listened to the message as of yet because it is so late in the evening, but I know that our family is not to be under a microscope especially since our debts are up to date, and scams are not welcome.

Got a letter from a man that came to our house with this number on it and we called the BB&T number we have and they said they have no woman by the name Mindi Hartman and said that that was not there number so BEWARE. I was scared to death when they came t the house because we just made a payment and everything!

Got call from this number as well bright and early (4 times in a row actually) on a Saturday morning.  Called the number back and got the same message.  Called BB&T Mortgage customer service and the young lady told me she had no number on file with BB&T and to call the actual Mortgage department   M-F and inform them.

It might be a legit number but I don't have a mortgage from BB&T so it sounds like a phishing expedition to me!
