I am actually on the phone with my card company now. They are initiating a dispute and canceling the card.
| Tamianth 2013-09-04 05:32:53 Unknown |
You need to dispute the charge's and either block this particular fraudster and have them give you a new account.
Also file complaints with your states attorney general, the ftc and fcc..

This phone number was listed on my credit card statement, along with a charge for $25.90. It is listed as AOL, but I did not even have this credit card a million years ago when I was an AOL subscriber. I have no idea how they obtained my card number, or if it really is AOL. This is the first time I have ever had any fraudulent activity on my account.
Charge shows up as: AOL* SERVICE CASH PURCHASE ($25.90)

AOL transfer you to the number under their "maintenance program." Last year I ordered a cord and it was here within the 3 to 5 business days. I got transferred to this number and after a week was told this common part that can be purchased at most computer stores (and one one block from my home.) The part was shipped from Best Buy Direct. On the 7th day was told the part was on back order. Finally told the part was to come on Monday on overnight service. They refused to email me a tracking number!
I have done business with AOL almost since they began business and I have never had a problem like this!
Anyone that has some free time call 800-827-6364 and ask for Bob and Asa. Liars!!!!!!

This is the right number for AOL customer service. They currently only have 1 outbound call center that only calls for a couple reasons. Reason #1 Cancellation Saves: If you cancel, AOL will call you to try to get you to stay. Reason #2 mybenefits.aol.com: AOL recently added free features that come with paid accounts, and they currently have a call campaign for the sole purpose of informing people about their benefits. Reason # 3: Special call campaign. Sometimes if AOL messes something up, or if there is a very specific group of people with a specific problem, AOL will call out to fix that problem. If you are worried that you are not speaking to AOL, ask them to confirm your last call in to AOL and to send you a piece of certified mail. AOL certified mail has an Icon that will show up in your inbox

Just got a call from a guy 800-827-6364...wanting to know when I would be homeas there was billing issues with my account. Guy was very uncertain of how to handle me when I asked for a phone #, and then when I asked for the extension, he said "what? I don't know it". Then asked me again when I would be home, and when I finally said I was the dog watcher, he hung up. Really? Can't you at least TRY to be a better thief? It's like telemarketer scams 101. Telephone scam artists are really the bottom of the barrel, when it comes to criminals....they even smell funny...lol.
RULE #1 = you NEVER know whose on the other end, NEVER give out any information. If its real, they WILL get in touch with you no matter what. Better to be rude than screwed.

I dialed this number and the "tech rep" said he needed remote access to help me find out why I no longer had access to AOL mail. I allowed the access and he said a hacker has been breaking into my system. He wanted $100 to fix it but after I asked some more questions, he abruptly hung up. Then I dialed back and another technician said that a hacker was breading into my system but he asked for $300 to fix it for 3 yrs and another year would be $450. I asked to talk to someone that spoke clear english since it was a struggle to communicate. I wanted to know if I could just shut down my AOL Mail account and start fresh with a new mail account. They said it wouldn't help and then put me on hold. I gave up after a very long wait. No one called back. Then I called Apple and they said for $19.99 they will clean up system. I did.... I am highly suspect of these guys at 800-827-6364.

I answered with the company name and a white male voice said"Excuse me ma'am I have the wrong number". I said o.k. and he hung up

Why is no one reporting this to the FBI Crime unit?? THis is FRAUD and he is posing as a AOL and other reps. He is clearing a con and should be reported. I plan on going online and filing a complaint with the FBI's online fraud unit. http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/investigate/cyber/cyber REPORT THIS PERSON

I disagree with Samuel. This is a fraud number. I called to cancel a supposed aol account and they wanted to know my bank acct number and routing number so they could find my account. Now why would they need that information to look up my account. I keep finding charges on my account statement from this number and it says from aol and I cannot cancel because they cant find my account.
