This number is a customer service line for The Fountains Resort in Orlando, FL.  They are owned by Bluegreen Resorts.  I did not get a call from this number, rather it was given to me when I foolishly accepted a travel promotional deal over the phone.  They are in the business of selling timeshares across the United States.  They deal with high pressure sales tactics and I would not recommend that you answer the phone if they call you.

Hey Mike.  I got a similar call from bluegreenonline this morning offering me a vacation I had won to an Orlando Resort.  I checked out their number to confirm my reservation but all I got was an answering machine.  And the numbers on the email that they sent me did not work either.  Then I called their corporate office to find out if this was a legitimate offer or not.  Corporate office advised me to call back and leave a message on the answering machine. They told me that it was one of their answering machines and someone would get back to me.  I told the woman whom I spoke to from Corporate Office that it felt like a scam.  She did not seem to care.

Someone from this number had a friend of mine all set up to accept the offer for Orlando trip..I came in too late to stop her from giving out her credit card number. Amusing part was no balance in the cc account.

Anyhow..I called back. Fellow had a fit when I claimed the trip was a scam. First Choice Getaways has no website, btw.

Guess he lost his commission because of me.

Got a call from Tom. Said he was from NY with Great Vacations Destinations. Said I have been selected from a registration I filled out at the EX. in Regina SK. I am from there but did not recall filling anthing out. He knew a bit about me, but just public stuff. I stopped him just after he indicated that there would a "processing" fee of $299 and told him that if his new question had to do with my CC number that we could stop there. At that point he gave me the 800-829-5707 to call and confirm that they were legit. I googled the number and got this site. Free trip my a**. Never give out a CC number unless you are 110% sure of who you are dealing with. Thanks!!

Hey it's me again. I called Visa and they are able to retract the transaction so long as the package doesn't come in 10 days, because that's the timeframe. Even if the transaction doesn't get refunded, when you get the package, which you will probably get, there is a cancellation package. Just make sure you have a hard copy of everything before you send it back with all your cancellation information. Visa WILL back you up if you have all your papers. Good luck to you all.

I got exactly the same call!!! I actually entered a contest and it was at a fair (there's a rodeo as well...) The cost is exactly as Laura said ($598 for 2 persons and $149 for "taxes"). I gave them my Visa because I did enter a contest so I thought I won... I did think it was a little weird that I had to pay for it right away and I also had to decide right away if i want to go to that trip... They told me I will receive a brochure within 10 days by mail... I mostly likely will never see this.

By the way, they change their "website" very often... The website they gave us is www.greatvacationdestination.com and nothing works there either.

My caller was quite slick and tried real hard to get information, especially my credit card number.
It found the experience quite entertaining in a sad and alarming way.
He said that he got my number from a rodeo I attended this summer. Was that a lucky shot or did they actually have a ticket where I entered some type of draw???

So I just got the call about my free trip.  Wanted me to pay for my "processing fees" of 600$ right then and there on the phone with him with my "visa" that I travel with.  Sent me to www.greenbluelive.com to "verify" that the company's legit.  I'll give him that it's a nice site but nothing works.  The Contact Us info is not in service and the number he gave me is just a constant replay of the same company stats without anyone answering me.  I told him to call me back tonight cause I don't carry my major credit cards with me.  We'll see if he calls back!  Besides doing that, I also called our Fraud Crime law enforcement agency to ask about it.  They said scams of this magnitude are EVERYWHERE.  I won't be paying anything to them... a free trip I may forego for the safety of my finances.
