Dont fall for it. They have ppl on THIS SITE TOO trying to convince. I just got ripped off $465.00 taken out of my account. I contacted FCC and called my CC company- It will take 2weeks but they will investigate and I am filing fraud on them. Scam

no this number is associated with FRAUD. ABSOLUTELY no PHONE carrier will list a private citizens name as the HOLDER ON THE ACCOUNT. This has been reported again to FCC and FBI- they are currently under investigation.  They have people working inside of GLOBEL*TEL who is selling your information.  If you have family members who were ever incarcerated- they have gotten their logs and accounts and target YOU! You notice absolutely NO JAIL OR PRISON OR EVEN STATE IS IDENTIFIED. prisoner call from sheriffs office. tried to set up and account.  Could be a mistake dialing. Cost me att money as I was out of the country!!!!

Just got one of these calls from 8008496081 I do not know anyone in jail or prison so they can just stop! I just hung up as soon as I here collect from an inmate

you get one call free for about 30 seconds from whatever jail they are in. about two minutes later this number calls you saying the name of the person calling you wants you to put money on an account so that he/she can call and talk to you.

It's jail any county USA.Someone you know is incarcerated and trying to get in touch with you. You have to set an account for twenty bucks and a service fee of 10 dollars so that you can recieve them on a cell phone.

Unwanted call supposedly from Pima County Jail that has been used to scam numerous people, as shown on this page. The number is 1-800-849-6081.

I've been getting these calls all week at all times of the night.Same message as listed above except it mentions Pima County on mine. Messages are cut off, as others say, but part did say hang up and call Pima County..so there's somebody out there selling or giving numbers to inmates at prison. I will call Pima County Jail tomorrow. Who knows why, but maybe some of the mad telemarketers out there get back at the public by giving numbers to the inmates to play with. I know no one in jail.. I suggest everyone complain like mad to these prisons, we shouldn't have to put up with this crap and the inmates should be making license plates instead of obscene phone calls.

This is a jail number and is not supposed to cost anything for an inmate to call u from it but could get fees if u call it back, either its someone with a wrong number calling or its someone u know who is locked up

2 calls back to back no message, it is now on my reject list.

I had a missed call from this number at 12:56 pm and it said I had a voicemail and I tried to hear it but the automatic reply said "If you consent this call dial 1 now" everytime I did it would just repeat itself...I still don't know what the message was.

Just called "Karen" 205-529-7774 back, since she has NOT returned my call, she references to another Amtel person (missed name) at 912-510-3512, that has a recording that they're sorry they missed my call, if I want to "set up a block", please call 18008496081 or if you have a 'sales or Cell' question, you can call (unidentifiable name said) at 912-510-3512, which answers as Amtel customer service, sorry we missed your call, if you need immediate assistance you can call "Karen" at 205-529-7774.  Other comments I've read on this forum say people are being charged for calls!

CORRECTION, THE NUMBER TO REACH "KAREN" WITH AMTEL IS 205-529-7774...THIS IS SOUNDING MORE AND MORE LIKE SOME TYPE OF SCAM.  Amtel's main number is 912-510-3512.

I got same type of call to my cell phone!  By pushing 7 (option to get more info) it connected me to Customer Service of America, which is a call center for Amtel.  So I googled Amtel and got a number (912-510-3512) to call them and all I got was a recording, which fortunately gave up another number for immediate assistance, which was 205-5299-7774.  I called that number and reached a lady named Karen, who told me if I gave her my cell phone number she  would find out which correctional facility the call came from and she would call me back.  That was over 2 hours ago.  I have not heard back!

I received this call at 9:22 p.m on Saturday, March 24th.   It went to my voice mail since I was at a friends birthday party.   When I listened to the message, it said collect call,etc.   This needs to stop.

The number is from a phone service called amtel. Used in immigration detention facilites, jails etc. Many facilites use it.  You can call the number and ipen an account with your credit card to get these calls at a much lower rate.

Business by the name of Customer Service of America. It's what many jails and prison inmates use to make phone calls.

http://www.myphoneaccount.com/   has a bunch of info on it. I called the 800 number and that is what they told me as well. I got a letter several days later from a friend of mine who is in jail. And he tried to call me. He confirmed all the information that the lady on the phone told me.
