I called back option 4 for removing the call. I talked to nice gentleman that asked if we knew someone and I said no. He said he would remove the number from their database. By the way it was to my 10yr old daughter's phone.

I agree with all the previous posts, ecxept for ann. standard debt collection policy is to call and leave a message if no one answers , and to have a regular schedule for repeating their calls. They have called me several times with the same thing as everyone has described. Don't call them back and most certainly don't give them your number

Get this too.  One ring and hangs up.  And they call my cellI agree it's a scam as one of the above posts.  I won't call back cause if it were a legit collection agency they would leave a message.  I have call blocker app on my cell works great.  Too bad I can't do it on my house phone.  They call one hang up and call the other.  I also never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.  If it's that important they can leave a message.  Evidently it's not since they dont leave one.

Got a call from this number. Called it back. Only gives you the option to make a payment or pay in full. No option to remove number as others had. :\ also no voicemail and it barely rang.

I get calls from this number randomly - not in a regular pattern (such as once a day or every 5 days), and like others, the phone rings once and the call disappears and no message is left. I have had some medical bills lapse into collection in the past, but those companies leave a message and I can go on their website and verify my debt. This crap is just that - crap.

they use automated calling between 8am-2pm that rings once and has hanged up. daily

I receive calls from this number several times in a week for the last month.   Callas are between 5 am and 8 pm, no message left.

To the stupid poster above me... What they are doing is wrong and not legitimate. Obviously a real debt collector would want to TALK to you. Sounds like a scam and you work for them encouraging people to verify their number with a scammer by telling people to call back!

Thank you ios7 for letting me block them! Others, just call your carrier to have this number blocked. By absolutely NO means should you call THEM back and give them your number. This only verifies your number to a scammer letting them know to scam your number with MORE phone calls.

If someone has a legal issue with you, the post office does a great job of delivering messages legally.

i just got this call on at the same time on both of my cell phones. one call and then hangs up before i can answer. even just a half of a ring before my 2nd cell went off a half of ring with this number showing on both cells.
What the heck is going on??? (Its a ping-of some sort).
JUST CALLED THEM BACK.THIS TIME SOMEONE ANSWERED.This is a legal collection agency guys!! Therefore,if u want to stop them or find out what bad collections you are in,you HAVE to call them back
SOOOO,Before YOU HANG UP(AFTER YOU CALLED THEM BACK) THE PROMPT ALLOWS YOU TO remove your number OFF OF THE LIST.(If it askes for your number again,WELL GIVE IT TO THEM,AS THEY do have it in their SYSTEM,somewhere but OBVIOUSLY this connection you called them on needs you to enter it again,so they can verify. Quit complaining and have patience to check it out and deal with it. I KNOW, Waaah!

I just got a call from this number. No voicemail was left. Called back and the computerized answering service came. It named it "ERC" (whatever the heck that is?!?!?!). Then to dial 1 to have your number removed from their list. When I selected that option it wanted me to enter my phone number. I didn't do that, I just hung up.

800-861-9027 calls my cell phone between 8 and 9 AM every day. There is noone there when I answer. No messages are left.
