they call me but I have no bills and ask to speak to some guy I keep telling them he doesnt live here man they are very rude very day and sometimes at 9 at night my time so I blocked their number lol

have you ever thought about it that if it is a MEDICAL DEBT threat person may be unable to work and pay their bill. The cost of healthcare is outrageous. Hope like hell you never get cancer or some other debilitating disease and are unable to work.

The economy is bad due to poor economic decisions made by the government not the people they barley count as fraction of the contributing factors to this poor economy. I can tell that you may be going through some things, but you don't have to be mean. We can share our perspectives respectfully.

My significant other and I received a call from Mr Barry. He is a man with a thick accent, and he's persistent. He called at ten am yesterday and scammed my boyfriend and I. Told us my boyfriend had won 10.5million and a car, but had a convincing stories that stated we had to pay half a percent of the taxes on the money and that the publicity crew, geico representatives, and good year reps, would be coming by, along with the mega millions guy to give is our check.... For .5% of the award money taxes. We believes him and he took us for five hundred and fifty six dollars..literally everything we have. As desperate as we are for money we took the chance, because the guy seemed.very legit until we sent him five hundred of the thousand needed, and because he said he would work something out with the US marshal, so we could pay qt a later time. Well we payed the 500 and he said we had to pay just a little more, and it would be done. Liar! He took the money and now we can't call him back. I got a call from Lois at Paragon, wanting my daughter to call her.  I am on the national Do Not Call registry.

I ALMOST AGREED TO WORK IT OUT WITH THIS DOUCHE.   I was so close when he just flat out blew it.  It would have meant a considerable hardship on me and he would have been paid before other bills which were ahead of this one but he just could not help himself.  He became arrogant and condescending and now they will stay in the same place in line he was already at.   When this Robert person called me just now I informed him that I also was recording the phone call.  I do this for my protection and to prevent them from manipulating or flat out lying about our conversation.  They can edit their tapes to make it sound however they like, but I have the entire conversation.  I'm glad I did as this person tried very hard to say I was committing to paying $xxx a month, when this is NOT what was said and I told him that.   He told me to give him an amount I'd be willing to settle for.  Seriously?  If I had a chunk of change I could just settle my bill with I'd be paying him already.  I'm not trying to scam anyone.  I'm paying my bill consistently even if it's not the amount they would prefer, it's what I can honestly afford.

yes they are a collection agency i know someone who works for them they mainly contact people who owes doctor bills hospital bills etc.they are located out of concord north carolina

Quit hiding behind privacy laws. If you are authorized to call someone you are authorized to state on who'd behalf you are calling. I am more than happy to pay my legitimate bills but I will not return calls from some shadowy caller who cannot simply state at least on who'd behalf they are calling.

You are doing yourself and your clients a disservice and are quite illegitimate in your activities.

I got a call today from this number too...if it were a reputable company they would leave their name and nature of their call. So, I will not call them back. I do not and will not answer if I do not know who it is calling. So, Amy...good luck talking to me...you can call my number all day long because I'm not going to answer. I just cut the phone ringer off...doesn't bother me....call, call, call!!!

3 calls regarding a personal business problem.  Called back and demanded my cell phone number to take me off the list.  Never identified what type of company this was.  Hokey business.  BE WARE!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a call at 7:30 pm asking for someone who does not live here.  The caller said "This is Monica with John Berry & Associates and we have important business matters to discuss with her.  Have her call me at 1-800-868-1899."  I asked them what this pertained to and they said it was a personal matter and they could not discuss it with anyone but her and to have her call them.

I pulled up the number on Google and it shows a hospital collection agency out of North Carolina.  The party they were calling does not owe any hospital bills at all.  I do know the party they were calling but I do not know how they got my phone number.

I have been receiving phone calls from both the 800-230-6127 & 800-868-1899 for some time now.  I won't answer my phone if I don't know the number. Most of the time they don't leave messages.  When they do leave messages they sound very rude and nasty.
I've had only one time where they've left a message stating:
"This is John Berry & Associates and we have "Important Business Matters" to discuss with you.  CALL 800-868-1899 today."  They have yet to give a name for whom they are asking.
The rest of the messages have just been as follows:
"Please contact Susanne Simpson at 1-800-868-1899. I have an important business matter to discuss with you. 1-800-868-1899." and they hang up.
I will not call them back untill I know who exactly they are looking for and what it is about.

Scott you have officially made the idiot list.  The reason you could not find the website is because you spelled the name wrong.  I know.  I know.  Letters in the alphabet can be confusing.  But think real hard.  The name was Jon Barry & Associates and is now Paragon Revenue Group.  Jon without and h.  Look at your bill again.  The letters should be at the top demonstrating the correct spelling.  You guys are hilarious.  "Contact the owner", "hound him", "call him at home".  How dare a guy start a company that calls people who owe money to companies for a service provided.  Most of your info on here is so wrong and inaccurate that it makes me smile.  Don't even care to correct.  Who cares.  Read this and then go back to the Food Network and buy a whachamacallit because you have got to have it.  But if the Hospital helped you in anyway then that is a freebie.  Whatever!! You expect doctors to go to school and residency for another 8-12 years following High School to work for free?   Yeah.  Dream on.  Move to Finland and get Government covered healthcare.  They only take like 70% out of you check and the waiting list for that lump in your neck is 3 months.  Go Government Healthcare go!!

I totally agree with your comment whatever....Some people don't have the luxury of working for a company who provides health benefits.. I have been a self employed hair dresser for more than 20 years and my husband is also self employed so when you don't have health insurance thru a company sometimes you have to make payments.. SO GET OFF THE TRASH TALK....For a world that has come so far in technology and other areas, we sure have sucked at coming up with a health plan for those out there working hard and don't have insurance offered to them and what is out there you can not afford...

Collection agencies cannot discuss details with you, unless you verify, you are the correct party. It is the law and they are trying not to break it. The only suggestion I can make to those stating it's unfair, write your lawmakers and challenge the law. It would actually make collections a much easier job, if they didn't have to worry about disclosing someone's personal information. I'm sure many of you, wouldn't want your family or friends to know about your unpaid debt, that could be embarrassing.

I'm no longer employed in collections, it was a tough job. But, in this economy, I would certainly reconsider, so I pay my bills.

JBA and NCO are legitimate collection agencies. They don't buy the debt, they are contracted by the hospitals/companies that have exhausted all means of collecting these unpaid balances.

i don't owe them anything...they work with a company called NCO financial systems inc. i inherited a cell phone number that belonged to someone who owes...so ease up on the trash talk...that's not what we're here for...besides that, you don't ever have to pay a collection agency a dime...you owe your original debtor....not them...if they bought it then that's their problem
