These people have called and start asking a lot of questions before they even identify themselves.  They ask for your SS# address date of birth etc.  We tell them we have been victims of identity fraud and refuse to give out such information.  We have requested to receive a letter of why they are calling. Then they go back to asking the same information.  If they are a collection company I guarantee you they have the mailing address if they have a phone number. Waiting to see if we receive a letter.

Taxes are taken out of paychecks to pay for all sorts of bills that have been passed by congress.

You talk as if consumer protection is some strange new trend. Please review what Congress was thinking in the three years of development before the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act became law 35 years ago. Note that the Act's supporters were far more worried about how your dirty debt collector pals love to "dodge their responsibilities".

I'm not sure you are literate, so this may be falling on deaf ears ---- we always suggest people pay their debts.  However, we also suggest that collectors operate within the parameters of the law.  Accordingly, we suggest that consumers get a validation of the debt if they have an questions regarding ownership.

Maybe instead of making laws so people can dodge their responsibilities,,people could pay their bills!! That's quite a concept isn't it!;

I emailed NWA to notify them they were calling us repeatedly (I never answered call as I didn't recognize name/number and no messages ever left) for the last few weeks in error as we have no bills, however, I let them know we had a family member living with us over a year that they may be calling about.  They responded almost IMMEDIATELY and stated they would remove our #'s (as they were calling BOTH of our lines - home & work).  If they call again, though, I will definitely repost.  Their promptness was appreciated!

So did my mom and we both found an attorney.The sol in my state is 6 years which if the collectors that were supposedly trained all about the FDCPA they wouldn't have made the many,many violations that they made!I collected bills back in the 90's and WE NEVER would have dreamed talking to people like that,nor were we criminals like you crap bags!!!! They are calling for my daughter.  They say this is a private matter and she needs to call.  The number they called from is 800-910-5856, leaving a number to return call 888-742-4104 ext. 4430. Is this a scam or something legitmate?

They call me with an automated msg a few times a week looking for a guy named ANGEL HERNANDEZ - I've had this number for almost 20 years and I sure as hell don't know anyone named Angel Hernandez - just let me get a real live person and they'll be REALLY sorry to get me on the phone!

1-800-868-6418 calls our company 8-10 times per day to solicit business. We have asked them to stop calling, but yet they continue to bother us.

I've gotten the same calls as other people.  The recording states it is a very important message for some foreign lady.  I have done collections and have always wondered if it is some new trick they thought up so that the person will callback to tell them they have a wrong number when in reality they are looking for that person.  Maybe they know that nobody will callback if they know a collection agency is calling for them.

I just called this number to let them know they had the wrong number and that they needed to stop calling me.  The guy on the phone answered "Nelson and Watson".  When I told him that I was not Patrick S., he said they would mark it as a wrong number.  We'll see if that did any good.  "Doubt it!"

got a call from a different 800 number looking for a chris hagar...I think since automated voice is hard to understand, and gave this number. said it is imperative to call. I don't know a chris hagar and I have had this number for almost five years.

They have called me at least a dozen times over the past few months and its always urgent that "John Fisher" call them back.  I waited till the end of the call to be connected but go no where so now I just hang up when I see the #.

WTF is this damn number it calls me every morning leaving me a stupid message for a susan malskieco. Every damn morning. Bugs the piss out of me.

Called at 2:42pm on 12/06/07 looking for Lisa Weaver(never heard of her).  I tried to call to let someone know Lisa does not have this number.....only to hear music....go figure.  These people have called looking for Jeffery Short too.  I wish they would get it together.  It is very ANNOYING!!!

A recorded message called called me 12/5/07 at 5:30pm.  It said it was "imperative" that my son call them back as soon as possible.  This was the fifth call in 3 days. My son does not not live here.  I called the number, the woman admitted they were looking for my son, I told her that he moved out of state.  She wanted to know how to contact him and I told her to stop harrassing me, and since she wouldn't identify her company, she could f*** off.

I have no dealings with any company that would hire these morons.  Obviously,  they are a scam.
