Elizabeth Nelson called me and left a polite message. I have been receiving many calls from debt collectors for folks with the same last name as me and the same first initial. So I returned the call, preparing to ask them to remove me from their list. I said it was not me and she asked if it was my son. I calmly said she was "way, way off base". She then said that I did I did not need to be rude and immediately hung up on me. I was never able to ask to be removed.

Yes everyone, ELIZABETH is back on the phone!  The only reason I am posting this is to inform you that the most recent number she is calling from is 1-952-215-0451.  Yes she is RUDE, yes she works for a Collection Agency and the name she uses is ELIZABETH NELSON supposedly representing Cpc, ie Control Protfolio Control.

I received a call from a guy named Matt last evening and he left a voicemail in a rude tone and addressed me by my first name. I ignored the voicemail and do not plan on calling him back. This morning i get a call from my mother. This "Elizabeth" called my mother looking for me! All she would tell my mom is that is regarding my account. I do not have any debt! I have debt from a bad financial situation over 10 years ago. Every once in a while I get calls from scumbags like these as they bought old debt and try to intimidate and harrass to collect debt that is no longer legal to collect. I fell for this several years ago as I freaked out from one of these companies scaring me into making payment arrangements. I gave them ALL of my information...bank acct, soc #...all of it! I found out from my sister who is a fraud officer that this was not legal and a scam! I cancelled my bank account and changed banks so they could not drain my account. And.....that is exactly what they tried to do according to the bank where I closed the account. DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMMERS!!! Do not call them back and do not even talk to them. Heed this warning..it will save you so much frustration!

This female 'ELIZABETH"is harrassing my Mom who was duped by Direct Buy.  We sent Direct Buy a demand letter expaining my Mothers brain surgery and forgetfullness.  This is how they conned her into signing.  They still sent her to collections after providing no service at all.  I hate the distress they are causing my mother.  Scumbags!

Just don't answer this lady.. I could tell she was a nut job just from listening to a short message. Sometimes you can hear the crazy in someone's voice. Needless to say she will fail to get in contact with me..

I spoke to Elizabeth this week.  She gave me no trouble AT ALL and was helpful the entire time.  Perhaps I am too calm a person to have gotten her flared up... curious how that works... people are helpful when you work with them :3

I have received 4 phone calls over the last 3 days, 1 from the notorious Elizabeth and 3 from a recorded message caller.
She is trying to collect an outstanding credit card balance which is not mine.
I am concerned that someone is using my info to open credit cards.
Unfortunately, she cut off all communication declaring that it was impossible for someone other than me to have supplied my phone number as part of this account.
She hung up on me when I told her the last four digits of the social security number she quoted weren't mine.
I have no idea if I'll get more calls from this company, or if someone is messing around with my name and phone # and credit cards.

Elizabeth has also called me very rudely i know i owed so i had all intentions of making an arrangement with her this lady was supposed to post date my checks and took out the full amount in one day instead of posted them which overdrafted my account she claimed thats what i authrized and then said they were supposed to be posted dated and blamed me and told me not to call her a liar and was yelling at me like she didnt have no sense in her head i ended up hanginging up the phone on her and i would like to report her i do i go about this situation?? because clearly her yelling was harrasment

Today is June 3rd 2010 and I got a call from this so called Elizabeh. She said she was calling to collect a debt. She wanted me to pay her $200.00. I told her I didnt have that kind of money and she started yelling at me than she hung up on me. I called her back and she yelled some more she told me I was going to suffer the consequences, what ever that means. Then she hung up on me again. This lady is rude, nasty and very unprofessional. My parent's are receiving calls from 952-215-0451.  The lady first asked for my ex-sister-in-law using her current married name; they then asked for me.  She is very quick on the phone and doesn't want to give any information. Not sure how she would get the information linking the ex and I. I do not converse nor have I ever co-signed on anything with her name on it.  I am also in no debt and have a clear credit history.  Not sure what advice to give my parents.

People like Liz are angry, pig-headed, little begging cowards, they hide behind a telephone, I bet face-to-face she is the most insecure, fragile person one would ever meet.....i got news for that fool Liz.....its 2010 and people can't get away with the cut-throat tactics anymore......

I think collection agencies should talk in a non-harassing manner, like every other professionals do.Elizabeth didn't use obscene words, but her intend was clearly to harass me.You can not even have conversation with her,as she fires an over the top rude comment and hungs up right away, and don't let you speak.I was shocked as she called, as I was polite to her.I am not the person they are looking for.I can only imagine "conversations" with people who owe something! Given the fact that for the last two years collection agencies called me looking for other people I don't even know, I really have enough, and I need to start to do something about it. The other agencies were simply annoying,(do they never update their files?), but Elizabeth was over the top rude. Enough is enough. Again, thank you very much for the info.

Elizabeth called me too, and was asking for a person whom I don't know, and  was very rude. I was trying to communicate  with them, to take my phone number off the list,and complained about Elizabeth, they were very rude also. Talked to Elizabeth and she hung up,after a rude comment. I consider such situations harassing, specially as  they called my home office while I am working.This is wrong number, and I don't know how they got it in the first place.

We recieved a call today from "Elizableth", leaving 800-871-8630 as a call back number.  When I answered she asked to speak to someone:  she spoke quickly and was difficult to understand...this is called "fishing", I believe and I played into her con by replying automatically with the closest clarification of the names she was asking for....ie I heard "elis" and responded "do you mean Alice?"...I also told her my name....I'm usually harder to trip up than this.  She was vaguely rude, demanding a call back in an officious way that probably irritates most people enough to get flustered....but she was so strange that I called back immediately , she answered  and addressed me by name...calling me rude and nosey.  It was so odd i immediately looked her up and found this bizarre thread.  She certainly tries to imply that she is acting on some higher mandate, though she denied that she was calling regarding collections when I asked her.  I guess that she engages with people who respond to intimidation of this sort.  I can't believe she's been doing this for 2 years.  Maybe she's the ghost of the national debt.

I also would like to know what to do -- I have found that I do have a debt with the company that she says I owe so i did make arrangements with her but i need 5 more days and she was way rude to me!! I want to talk with someone else and she will NOT give me any other person to talk with or the "buyers" name so that i may contact them.

when collection agents act like Elizabeth does - it usually means they are junk debt buyers - they buy worthless legally uncollectable debt for pennies and then try and collect the full amount WITHOUT FOLLOWING FDCPA LAW. They are obnoxious harrassing and use threats to intimidate you into paying a debt you PROBABLY DO NOT OWE

they cannot validate the debt (prove its yours) because they only buy old worthless debt they get nothing that proves who the TRUE debtor is.

Also received phone calls from Ms. Elizabeth.  When I google the phone number I got the address and phone number listed below.  The number that Ms. Elizabeth leaves for call back is 800-871-8630.  The number on my caller I.D. is "Cpc 952-215-0451.  Again, she has the wrong number and do not care.  Simple courteousness gets you far with most people and perhaps information they desire-not rude, nasty and disrespect.  I have concluded that people like this have dreadful personal lives and this is how they deal with it, instead of therapy!
