I got a post card saying that this number has been unable to reach me by phone. #1-I just moved to a new house and do not have a landline. #2-I have not received any calls from this number on my cell phone (which I have not given out).

Same here. Just moved in to a house in Berea. Handwritten and I'm told to ask for Mrs. Burke!

I received a postcard with no return address, saying that they've been trying to reach me by phone (they haven't), and to call them within three days. It said to ask for "Mrs. Burke". I called the number, and they identified themselves as "Great Lakes Water."  At first I thought it was the Cleveland Division of Water, so I talked to them for a little bit, but it soon became clear that they just a weasely marketing company that wanted to send someone to my house to sell me some crap.
God, how I hate having my time wasted.

I just bought a house in Wadsworth and got a postcard in the mail.  It said they had been unable to reach me by phone and to call in 3 days.  Also told me to ask for Mrs. Burke.  No return address.  Scammers.

Got this card in the mail and called the number.  The person answering the phone got all huffy when I asked her how the "technicians" were certified and what their formal education was.  Apparently, no one has ever questioned their credentials.

I almost laughed at her when she told me it was going to be like a science experiment in my kitchen. Oh dear me a science experiment....However will I contain myself.  Science is so exciting.  Its not like I have a degree in chemistry.

I've been getting calls and when I answer, it just says to "hold for next rep", I always hang up.  Just got the post card today - must be the new house thing. Fun stuff.  @Arsenic - I think I'll call "Mrs Burke" too and have some fun as well :)

I got the postcard after buying a new house. Thanks to this website I realized it was a scam. I called Mrs. Burke and had some fun with her. She got really pissed off when I kept her on the phone for 10 minutes before telling her I was just wasting her time.

Received the post card in the mail today. Same phone numbers as others are reporting. Will not call these numbers - clearly some sort of scam. What I want to know is HOW they got our mailing address and how to report this (and to whom!!?).

Received a post card in the mail. I called and they wouldn't tell me what it was about unless I gave them the reference number. When I said I didn't want to give out information she said "Fine. You don't want to know what it's about - have a good one"... and hung up abruptly. Clearly this is a sales pitch of some sort.

Based on posts for the other number on the postcard I received (216.514.4659), it appears this number is Great Lakes Water in Cleveland, OH.

They are apparently ashamed to identify themselves on their "marketing" materials.  How lame ...
