I got a call from this number this morning at 08.22 UK time, wasn't happy as it's my first lay-in for over a month!  The American sounding caller said they were from an opinion poll, I asked the caller to put me onto their manager (also American) where I went on to tell him we were part of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and under no circumstances should our number be being used for such calls.  He immediately said they would remove our number, but I'm doubtful of that.

Finally answered a call and  some message is said so fast you cant understand it nor hear what caller is saying since the volume is also a little low, We think..((caller may have Hispanic accent to some degree on msg))  I Googled the number this is what i found at this site.....http://www.customtollfree.com/toll-free-reverse-lookup/8008970000

Many many calls a day to a new phone number we just got.  Just auto dialing.  No response or caller on other end.  Probably collecting a data base of working numbers - although don't know why repeated calls.

these callers are CROOKS - not legitmate telemarketers

the hang ups are from robot dialers that dial every number in sequence - multiple numbers at a time.  The hang ups are because the few scammers available to take the calls have already reached someone else and the rest are dropped to be redialed over and over again.

IF you do manage to speak to someone and tell them to stop calling - they just hang up and keep calling.

File a new complaint EVERY TIME they call you.

The website says that they do not respond to individual complaints, but that if they get enough of them, they could pursue criminal action against the scam artist(s).

Annoying.  Couldn't understand what the Mexican [he sounded Mexican] was saying. I hung up.

I am getting at least two calls from this number per day---really irritating.  When I answer, there is silence.  When I do a call-back, there is just a busy signal.  When I don't answer, there is no message left for me in my voice mail.

Been getting calls from this number almost on a daily basis for the last two weeks.   Same as Jodie; I have received many calls from this number.  When I pick up the phone there is a hang-up.  When I let it ring to be transfered to my messge machine, there is no message.  When I call the number back, there is a busy signal.

I simply recorded the number on my contacts list as a scam, and I simply ignore it.

Same thing here.  Just hang up.   I taught that putting our name on that Canadian list was enouph.  I guess not.  anyway, it was a recorded message.

Also got the 'due diligence' message, but the return phone number was cut-off.  Happy that I'm suspicious of such phone numbers and found this page.

This message was a recorded message and the speaker talked so fast and in a low tone I just hung up. Will not respond up this phone number again and any number originating in 800, 866, or 888 will not be answered from this point on. Damn solitations.
