I received a call from this number.  The person said they worked with NCO Collection Agency and that I needed to pay a past due bill on a magazine account (with a company I've never done business with).  I told them I had received no contact from the company and if they wanted to contact me further, they could do so in writing.  Then, I just hung up.

I received calls on the same day several months prior from two other numbers (702-347-8988 and 954-876-9455).  The caller (same guy) also claimed he worked for NCO Collection Agency and that I owed $1500 on a magazine account (I had done business with this company) that had been paid in full for several months.  He threatened to take me to court.  I, having all my backup documentation from the closed, fully paid account, told him to "bring it on."  Then he hung up on me.

Just because these people call, claiming to be debt collectors, does not mean they're legitimate.  They are trying to scare people into handing them money!  I pay all my bills, but I'm sure if I was past-due, the company would attempt to contact me long before it would get to a collection agency.  It's really sad that people make money scamming other people out of theirs!!!!!

Someone called representing a collection agency, saying I owed payment on a magazine subscription back in 2009.  Said I had to make payment right away (I assume via credit card).  I refused, asking him to put the demand in writing and mail it to me.
He threatened me with a summons.  I threatened him back with a defamation lawsuit.  The call ended.
