I've done some more digging. Through the Office of the Broward Co. District Attorney I was put into contact with Office of Insurance Regulation.

Dept. of Financial Services
Devision of Consumer Service
200 E. Gaines Street
Tallahassee, FL 32399-0322

850-413-3130

They have no record of the company "Vehicle Warranty Options" even operating in Florida.  They instructed me to submit copies of any paperwork we have regarding this company to their office and they would investigate further.

Vehicle Warranty Options of Plantation, FL refuses to return my $1000.00 after cancellation.  Do not do business with this company.  It is a pure scam.  I know they have no intention of returning any money because of all the crap they give you over the phone.  This company should be shut down and charges put against them.  I'm going to try to do just that!!!

To Mark- who probably won't be back to this site anyway- your ignorance is boundless. This company is a scam if you had done ANY type of followup. When the calls do not stop, one presses "1" with the hopes of getting a real person and hopefully stopping the calls. My number is registered on the Do Not Call registry, so it is illegal to contact me.  Along with the fact that it is a cell phone and it is against FCC regulations to use automated dialers(which this call is) to contact cell phones.
As quoted from the FCC website: "FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers are barred from calling consumers on their cell phones without their consent."
So take your misguided defense to a website that actually cares.

I too have received a call, but I opted to press 3 to be removed from the list. I have a telemarketing company and deal with mortgages, telemarketing is a business just as other peoples jobs. If you dont want to talk to anyone then dont press 1!!!!!!  To say someones company is a scam just because you feel like it, is inflamatory and you can be held liable for civil damages, so think twice before you speak or blog!!

I receive calls from this company 3-5 times a week. I called the 1-800# listed above and also got a girl named Rachel. I asked to be removed from her list and she got nasty with me, told me she was the secretary and that she couldn't help me, and she hung up. I called again and asked to speak to a supervisor and she hung up on me. I called a third time (maybe now she knows what it feels like to be me!) and told her I would continue calling until she let me speak with a supervisor and she hung up on me again. I called for a fourth time 5 minutes later and got a lady named Kim. She took my name and # and said she would remove me from the list.

I wonder if they know what the word "service" in customer service means!

I have received repeated calls every couple of days with the same automated message.  A couple were when I was away from my phone (it does not record caller ID) and a couple of times it was while I was at my phone (Caller ID is displayed luckily).  I received calls from both 502-894-0098 and 603-214-3691.  It's the same pitch and obviously the same thing going on.

They asked for my vehicle information and I asked why they didn't have it if they called me, but they made up some excuse.  Since I gave them an exotic car detail, they forwarded me to United Warranty Wholesalers, who upon being asked if they were the same company that forwarded me to them, promptly hung up on me (they probably didn't know the fake name of the company that forwarded me to them).  Then on the second call I immediately asked what the name of the company was of two different people I talked to and they both said Vehicle Warranty Options.  I tried to get a website out of them, but they wouldn't tell me until I had sent them a down payment.  I asked a lot of legitimate questions, but they were pretty persistant on trying to get me to commit to a particular down payment option.  Very carring, huh?  On the second call they kept saying that they sent me warranty information in the mail, but I've never seen it, so when I asked what the address was, they said hold on and promptly hung up on me.

I found a Vehicle Warranty Options website at www.VehicleWarrantyOptions.com, but I don't know if that's legitimately them, however I always try to get Better Business Bureau information before dealing with a company (I never deal with a company that calls me out of the blue) at http://www.bbbonline.org/cks.asp?id=103040917315117768 and the report on the company is a bad link (http://trenton.e-asp.net/NIS4/badcomp.asp?strBCode=02210000) at least at the time of this writting, which I promptly reported to the BBB.

I'm not signing up for them, but I think I should try calling the same number from my other phone to see if each site is a small operation (that's not totally unlegitimate as it's probably one of those "work at home, make $5000/mth" deals).  The whole thing is too shady.  Who do you really call for the warranty when you need it???

I am so mean :-P I called +1 (800) 922-3072 a 3ed time on 2 phones at the same time. Rachel (the same girl as before) picked up the first phone I called her on and said hello than I called her on my second phone. She put my first phone on hold and said hello on the second phone. I think its safe to say there is only one person working there.

I tried calling +1 (800) 922-3072 after getting 2 calls from +44 207-453-3750 and reading on here that +1 (800) 922-3072 and +44 207-453-3750 might be the same thing. They sound like they are about the same things. The girl who picked up asked for the make and model of my car and the year than I hung up. I called the number a second time about 5 min. later and the same girl picked up. Her name was Rachel and she sounded like she was cooking something in a kitchen. The second time I called she picked up saying that I was calling the corporate office. After I hung up with her she called me back at +1 (989) 243-7131.

It's the same company and the same thing happened to me, I started to ask to be removed from the calling list and the ignorant jerk hung up on me. I dialed *69 and this was the number I got...

1-408-651-8169

Vehicle Warranty Options is a company of scavengers attempting to pick up whatever scraps they can from hard working people.

I received an automated call from 408-651-8169 regarding a 3-year extended warranty.

The automated call said to press "1" for representative, so I pressed "1".   As soon as I started to ask to be removed from their calling list, the representative hung up on me!

Here's what I found on the Internet research provided
408-651-8169 and customer service at 800-922-3072

With so much negative feedback, I became curious about the company, so I eventually called back, listened to the sales pitch, then politely said, please give me your web address to get more information.  The rep. gave me the website and said I would be flagged as "not interested" and would not receive any more calls.

Interestingly 408-651-8169 came up as a phone call from Salinas CA -(????) seams unusual to me.

I choose not to do business with this kind of company
