I got scammed to the tune of $1650.00 .Promised to received papers to sign and return. I never signed or returned  papers. They still took my money. They have called every day for weeks, since Nov.2011, saying they have a potential buyer. They say buyer is trying to get financing approved and that they will call back on a specific date. All I ever get is this same runaround. These people are real piece of work. Do not trust them. Here is the # I received on my caller I.D.  305-918-4805. If you receive a call from this # do not respond! This # is from a Majic Jack #, free cell service, that I have found so far to be untrackable. Name Eddie Miller! I went as far as to search that name and the number's came up with a match to the north miami area. I am now in touch with the Florida attorneys office filing a complaint and moving forward with this little POS

Left a voicemail on our phone stating our timeshare was sold for $30,000.  Please respond quickly, urgent.  We have a timeshare for sale, so we fell for it.  My hubby used a credit card to pay $1798.  These people also called our cellphones, which is why we thought it was our company.  Anyway, this was 11/12/09.  11/13/09 realized the error.  Called to cancel, no answer, called 5 times over 3 days,no answer.  Bobby, ext 1621 answered my call today, 11/16/09.  NO REFUNDS!  Hubby did an oral contract.  Well, I am fighting this to the end. Do not fall for these people.  Even if they are for real & can sell your timeshare, wouldn't they want to prove they are legit & refund money instead of whoops on you, no refund! The number given to call back was 1-800-923-1958.

I got the same call today from Christopher King.  He called me from [818] 766-8899, and gave me a call back number of [800] 923-1958 x 1659.

He said he had sellers lined up for my unit (2 unit lock-out, 2 weeks per year) in Orlando FL.  Offering $29,000 with $2,800 a week for renting out this years weeks.  Plus recoup the money I paid out to a different company to advertised it be never got me any business.

BUT, he needed $1,798 up front.  He would send me papers to sign that would arrive in 7-10 business days.  I asked him why I would have to pay up front, and not have it taken out at closing. He said that could be construed as a commission, and they don't charge them.

The BBB listing posted on their website www.mgmuniversaltimeshare.com has an A+ rating, BUT ITS FOR A DIFFERENT COMPANY!  The real site is www.la.bbb.org/Business-Report/MGM-Universal-Timeshare-13041288 and they get a F rating.

5-3-10 Got a call from Rebecca of at that number, offering to sell our timeshare in Spain for $26,500. similar to above descriptions, plus $3,000 for any unused weeks, for a legal fee of $1,748.  While on the phone, she had me go on line to http://www.universaltimeshare.com, and the page showed a BBB rating of "A+", which seemed unusual to me.  After the call, I Googled the Southern Nevada BBB and was unable to get any  ratings info at all.

Got a call from MGM International Timeshares, same phone number talked to the presetnation manager named Rubin Gordon, slick presentation on 3,400 to rent the unit and then an additional 38,000 to sell my timeshare when I only paid 20 for it, in this economy I find that hard to believe.  Of course needed the 1785 for legale fees BEFORE they seel, never heard of paying for the transaction before it occurred.

Recieved a call almost identical to Florida 1/6/10 call. Same 800 number same name, same sales pitch, same upfront legal expense. They, too, had all the correct timeshare information. Gave me a CA License # 1839873
with an address of 8605 Santa Monia Blvd. West Hollywood, CA 90069. When asked where he got the information and telephone number he said they were
a member of American Resort Development and that was how they obtained the
information. The telemarketer, representing himself as MGM Universal Time Share, name was Rafael Guerra at Ext. 1658. This guy was good. He didn't even hesitate when I told him I was a Legal Secretary and I wanted to discuss this with the attorneys before I did anything. Said he would e-mail the information to me and call back in a couple of days. You would think they would know better at this point!

Received a call from MGM Universal Timeshare saying they had a buyer for my timeshare for $31M when I only paid $13M 8 years ago.  They said I needed to give them $1985 to cover "legal expenses."  They even said I could check them out with Better Business Bureau -- where it looked like they were legit.  And they had all the correct info on the timeshare.  Thank God my sister found this site -- too good to be true ALWAYS is too good to be true.  They are a scam using someone else's good reputation to scam you.  Don't fall for it -- glad we didn't.

Same person called two days later and said we have a buyer but we need the money for the transactions, i told him i don't have a $1000.00 sitting around. he talked about some payment plan. i said nah sorry i'm not interested. He got kinda rude and said well i'll just have to sell this other family's timeshare. I said good luck and hung up on him. They are scammers!

Do not answer nor have any kind of association with (800) 923-1958. They identified themself as MGM Universal Timshare. My case was this Erick at extention 1680 called my cellphone. Big time scammer and fraud. Look them up under Better Business Bureau License, company them do not matched up. Called the company that's popping up under the license number and was told that I am not the first phone about MGM Universal Timeshare, do not fall for them. They are in no connection with MGM Universal Timeshare at all. It's a scam! Before you commit to anything, especially when it comes to money, please do your research and homework first. MGM Universal said they have a buyer for my property at 29k and all I would have to pay is the transfer deed fee of $1,798 and wanted the money up front asking, "So, what type on card do you want to put this on?." I was like, hold on!, send me something in writing first and we'll go from there.
Here's the actual email that was followed by the phone called, it was title: MGM UNIVERSAL TIMESHARE PROPOSAL :

Thank you for requesting information about M.G.M. Universal Timeshare service for timeshare properties.
Our website is http://www.mgmuniversaltimeshare.com/
And please see our Better Business Bureau License #70428 report  at http://southernnevada.bbb.org/bbb_rated_acc_r ... arks-nv-5005357
According to our sale/rental averages at Westgate Resorts:  Timeshares with similar accommodations to your Standard (2) Bedroom (2) Bathroom unit, the Suggested listing price for the sale is $29,000. Our showcase representative will call you with every offer for your consideration.

The fee for our marketing program is a lifetime fee of $1,798 for the sale/rental of all your properties. No commission will be taken from the proceeds of your sale... Average DOM* for units of this type is 90 days to complete the sale and deed transfer for your property.

NO Commissions!

Because we are a for-sale-by-owner company, we do not charge commissions whatsoever when the property is sold. The seller is guaranteed to receive the full amount of the sale! For the buyer, no commission means money saved!

Of course the buyer does not want to overpay for a vacation and the seller does not want to be undersold. Differences in the price range from one resort to the next are determined by many variables, such as location, amenities, exchange season, and unit size. The buyer knows what the resort is selling. The seller(s) knows what they paid. We follow the golden rule of the resale market: Beat the resort?s price!

NO Closing Costs!

In timeshare re-sales the closing costs are paid by the buyer. So when selling your timeshare on the resale market, there?s no need to be concerned about any closing expenses.

NO Hidden Costs!

With commissions, appraisals, and closing costs ruled out, the only out-of-pocket expense for the seller is the one time advertising and marketing fee. We guarantee it! Our goal is to have a property sold within 90 days. If that does not occur for whatever reason, your contract automatically renews and we continue to actively market your property entirely at OUR expense. There are NO additional fees collected from the seller. We will market your property for as long as it takes to find just the right buyer.

Our Money Back Guarantee!

Here at M.G.M. Universal Timeshare it is our pledge that if you or any other company sells your timeshare before we do, M.G.M. Universal Timeshare will refund 200% of your advertising fee

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact me and I'll be more than happy to help.

Thank You,

Erick

11-4-2009 A person with a light subcontinental accent called and left a message supposedly offering us $23,400 for our Bluegreen timeshare. As the person identified himself, it is obscured by some "interference" on the answering machine. The need to call back is expressed as "urgent". When I looked up the company, MGM Universal Timeshares, on the web, the first item that popped up is a Better Business Bureau rating of F. The rating is due to poor customer service and allegations of fraud. Numerous other watchdog type sites with scathing reviews also popped up on my search. We have been getting anywhere from 5-25 calls about selling or renting our timeshare since the beginning of the summer. Any we have called back want money up front to cover "listing expenses" and claim that it is against the law to work for a commission as legitimate realtors do. These guys had my husband all lit up with the possibility of getting this Bluegreen timeshare albatross off our necks, but two minutes of research showed it was just another scam.
