Attempting to pay a bill via phone

Similar message to what others have received from a "Locator Service".  My wife went in to upgrade her phone plan at a Verizon store and the rep mentioned that someone was billing our account for $10/month.  The rep said to text 23333 and add "Stop" in the text box. I received an immediate reply to my text;

FWD: You have been removed from Locator Svc. No further charges apply & no more msgs will be sent. If you need further help, call 800-741-5900

I will check our account next month to see if it actually worked

I had the same exact problem...I followed the link listed in the first post on this page...http://www.smsvw.com/  and it worked, so i called the number on there for support..."For additional customer service please call: 800-741-5900." I talked to someone pretty quickly and explained the situation and they said they would issue a refund check. They took my info and said i should receive it in 10 days. So... we'll see what happens, but it went pretty smoothly. We'll see!

been getting similar txt.except every month it renewing@9.99 by 15th of each month.on 15th txt reads i've been charged.but no charges&my cell account wont allow something like this or have web access.it also give opt/out link to stop service@the end of ea txt

Called this number by mistake. This phone is not in my name.

I received a charge for premium messaging on my cell phone bill. I called my cell phone company and they told me I (or someone else) had texted the number 23333 to get this service. I had never heard of such a thing. They looked it up for me and said it was Atlas Information Service and said I had to google them and try to get the charges reversed. Of course when I went to the website the phone number was a bogus number. I have had no luck resovling this issue. I had to have premium messaging blocked from my cell phone. I didn't even know this sort of thing existed.

I received the same message on my phone while trying to contact my internet service i immediately contacted my bank and canceled my card

I would like to get my customer ID number off my phone bill on the first page.

I had a charge of $14.95 on my home phone on 6/19/09.  When I called the customer service number on my bill, I was told to push * and then I got the text message for the $9.99/mo charge.  

My local phone company agreed to remove the charge but I need to stop any further charges and I'm not sure what number to call.

they're using a new number now. 8775432785. the system prompts to press * to get a message from them. the message reads the exact same as these others. i contacted their "customer service" and got hung up on when i demanded that they stop. since then i setup an auto-dialer at work to call them every 15 minutes with an extremely loud screeching noise when someone picks up the line.

It's just as everyone else above said.  If you did respond to the text messages call your cell phone provider immediately and let them know what happened.  

I called T-Mobile and they wrote off the 9.99 charges.  

Your cell phone provider will also tell you to respond "STOP" to the 23333 numer to "cancel the subscription"

After that you should be fine
