DO NOT DO WHAT HE SAYS!! He gave me the same 1 800 # as mentioned above.

Prank Call
I got a call the same as others trying to get me to turn over my computer to a remote sight. It was an Indian woman with a heavy accent. I asked her if we could have sex first. Then silence, so I asked what that fish smell was coming from ? Did she forget to bathe today! I guess she was flustered because she hung up. Lol.....

Same story as above. Received a call from 212-077-4568 .He said he was from Help Tech 247 and that my computer was generating some sort of Microsoft errors. I told him I would need to call him back. He gave me 1-800-935-0714 as the call back number. I'm sure some people fall for this scam.

I have been receiving calls from this place all week. When I told him I believe it is fraud, he persisted in telling me that I have bugs in my computer that need to be fixed. He told me my computer was on. I told him it was not. He asked me to turn it on. I told him I did, when I really didn't. Then he asked about my keyboard. Wanted me to hit the control key and wanted to know what was the key next to it. He told me to hold them both down. GARBAGE!! I told him I can fix it myself. When I asked how he knew I had problems, he told me that my computer is sending messages to Microsoft about errors. Huh!!! He said his name was Steve Gordon (Accent from India! of course) and gave me his ID #16340. I asked for a mailing address which he never gave me, but he did give me a toll free # 1-800-935-4714. The number that comes up on my caller ID is #212-077-4568. THIS IS FRAUD!!! I didn't let it go any further. I told him I would check it out and get back to them. I am sure they will continue to call.

Just got the same phone call (originating in India)  but from another phone number. 212-077-1263.
As soon as they asked for remote access to my computer I said no and asked for a call back number.  That was the 800-935-0714.  I called the number and they say you can "sign up" for IT services for a fee.
The person I talked to on the phone wanted me to download a "free" software program called "AMMYY.COM".  That will give them immediate access to your computer.  Beware!  This looks like an easy way to steal someones identity.

I got a call from "Alec Ray" (Indian accent) telling me he was from the "IT Department" and that my computer had errors that were put there by various web sites. It would affect any Windows or Mac. I said "what versions?" and he said "all versions". I said "why haven't I heard about this in the news or anywhere else?" And he said "it just started and we're telling you first". How stupid can he think I am?? While I was on the phone, I wasn't about to go anywhere near my computer. The number he gave me was "1-800-935-0714". I told him he sounded like a fraud and reported the call to the FCC. I wonder what was really going on?

My sister does not know much about computers.  A person from this company called her and taliked her into purchasing the service.  Her computer was brand new and they told her it had viruses on it and installed software on it .  When I tried to cancel for he they stated that you can only cancel if there is a probelm with the computer that they can not fix.  Tell them the problem and they will connect in. The problem is she got scammed and does not need the service.  Does anyone know legally hoe to get her money back?

I received a call today and the number on caller ID is 212-055-3557.  A man with an Indian accent was telling me about all kinds of internet errors on my computer, and I told him I have no problems and that I was not going to buy anything or give him access to my computer either.  I asked for his name and he told me he was Bryan Williamson, Employee number 121-D4, from Help Tech 24/7 at 800-935-0714.  Very persistant and rude, and I asked how he knew my computer was having problems (which it wasn't) and asked if he was intruding into my home and computer unauthorized.  He was very persistent and rude, never could give me a real answer to anything.  I hung up on him.  I called the 212 number back and got a Verizon recording that the number is out of service.  I also called the 800 935- number and did get a recording that it was HelpTech 24/7, and the call may be recording for training purposes.  But, I did not stay on the line to talk to them.

Received call, caller ID "Private".  Answered anyway.  Caller proceeded to tell me that my computer was infected and he would walk me through fixing it.  Was given business name of Help Desk 24/7 and 1-800-935-0714.  When I asked why a business in India would be calling me, he said they were in Las Vegas, but the call center is in India.  He knew where he was calling, but I told him the name he had come up with was for someone who no longer lived here.  I imagined doing what I would do -- googling the number and seeing what comes up.

I got the same call tonight from "Amanda" (I don't believe that was her name due to her Indian accent) she tried to get me to long on to my computer and "fix" a virus. I was tired of listening to her rant on so she transferd me to "Sean Davis"(That was fake too) so at this point I knew it was bologna... So when I asked what they were calling about for the 10 time I said I didt want Obamacare! I knew what they wanted and knew it was scam so I had some fun with them asking about what the little apple on the front of my computer was etc! It was pretty fun! This want a real call about my computer if it was a serious problem Apple would have called. Don't talk to them ITS FAKE!

Today is the 4th time this  company called me.  Being the old computer nurd that I am, The first time they called I followed his instructions for a while,  Before he could continue  "fixing" my computer,  he (some of the time a women was on the line)  wanted  me to HURRY to Walmart and have $300.00 wired to a guy in India.   Hurry, Hurry, Hurry.  I told them I could not do it right now so they agreed I could to it tomorrow, but to turn off my computer and don't turn it on again until they called my back.  the next day they called again, asked if I wired the $300., I said yes, at that time she must have looked for the wired money.  She came back to the phone and wanted more info about the wire.  (receipt # etc),  I called her a scam and called me a LIER, LIER, LIER and a few more ****.

Caller ID # 1-229-441-5589 received at 1658 CDT on Saturday 09Nov2013 from some tech service - later identified as "Help Tech 24/7" by calling 1-800-935-0714. Caller's name was Max (?) but caller was almost impossible to understand because he was not a native English speaker (maybe Indian). Gist of call was unclear but he wanted me to turn on my computer and he would - do what? Verify problem? Correct problem? Otherwise my computer might/would lose functionality. It was somehow related to Microsoft and the internet. All of this was unclear because of language problems and because the harder I pressed him for answers and explanations the more garbled it became. Finally he gave me the 1-800 number to call to verify his legitimacy and that he would call back in about 10 minutes; he called back from the 1-229 number 4 times that evening. I did not answer those calls and did not call the 1-800 number until next morning. A recorded voice (not Max) gave the company name in understandable English and then Max picked up. I asked for his name (Max) and location (Las Vegas NV) and then I asked how my name and phone number were acquired and he told me Microsoft had provided them with a list of Windows based operating system computer owners (I have a Mac!) who might be experiencing (the still somewhat vague) issues. When I said that I don't own such a computer and wanted to know the source of the list, he became very unwilling to talk and hung up. Be very suspicious, don't open up your computer to him, and alert your state's attorney general's office and the BBB.

Just got the same call from Berlin GA, 1-229-441-5589.  Very persistent, rude, claimed no scam.  'Why would I give you my company name and phone number to call if this was a scam?'..made me feel comfortable...NOT.
So I played along for a few minutes, asked questions like 'Where is the Windows Key on my MAC?'..'What error messages is my computer sending?'...No answers..
Then proceeded to tell him the call is being recorded and the computer belongs to Homeland Security that he is trying to get into.  Told him there will be a knock on the door - if there was a door.  Didn't phase him.  He became more rude and loud.  So I kept saying it was a scam, which angered him more and more and more....Finally I told him I'm an IT professional, and he started to quiz me..'OK smart guy, what is Microsoft Management console..and how do you start it..you should know this Mr IT Professional'  I laughed and hung up.

I got a call similar to those in the other messages.  She also had an Indian accent but, when I asked, she said she was calling from Las Vegas.  I asked her for her name and she said--in all seriousness--" I think my name is Amanda Paul."  I don't have caller ID on my phone, so in order to get her number, I told her I would have to call her back and I asked for the phone number, which was apparently the 800 number for "Help Tech."  Then she insisted that she should call ME back instead of me calling HER back.  I told her I didn't think she had any idea what was or wasn't on my computer and it was a ridiculous call.  She then hung up.

I got a call today, from "Peter Parker", of "Help Tech 247", claiming all the errors shown by event viewer were junk or malicious software from the internet that would multiply whether my computer was on or off, and a lot of other stuff that sounded like nonsense meant to scare people. He wanted me to connect to www.ammyy.com, I wasn't about to go to any website suggested by someone who sounded like a scam artist. He gave 1-800-935-0714 as his call back number.

Plus, we're on the do not call list, should not be getting calls from companies like this that we've never done business with.
