Multiple calls from this number, left no messages, finally answered and they don't say anything, no noises, just blank.
Others say it is Wells Fargo, I am fed up, I have Wells Fargo accounts but nothing due or late.

The caller ID says WellsFargo, but I don't believe it.  I have some strong suspicions based on previous experience.  This is indeed one of the numbers for Wells Fargo, but it is my belief that Asset Acceptance tries to guess with which bank one does business that they might get someone to answer the phone.  Asset Acceptance calls itself a debt collection service, but they seem to be the sort of agency which buys debt for pennies on the dollar with the aim of harassing people to pay whether they owe or not.  They do not have to be hired by the creditor to try to elicit payment and they do not pay any attention as to whether their records are current or accurate.  They will refer to their records, though, as though they were authoritative, as in, "You have no debt?  That's not what our records show."  They've been calling me to look for some guy with a Latin name like Julio or something FOR YEARS.  I don't answer the calls anymore because I'm just tired of ignoring all their empty threats.  They couldn't be more wrong:  What do I have to fear?  Anyway, I know they change their caller ID to whatever will get a reaction:  If the banks knew the scope and scale of this operation, they would be shut down so fast their heads wouldn't have time to swim.  The calls often come within seconds of each other, caller ID: (1) Asset Acceptance, (2) Unknown, (3) Anonymous, (4) New Once, and then (5) Wells Fargo.  "Nuance" is the vendor of a voice-transcription system, but "New Once" is from a scammer trying to confuse naive and gullible victims.

Wells Fargo Collections. Aside from being complete irritating bozos, sounds like they are a company hired by WF to do collections. There were too many things they "did not know" that they should have.

I'm selling my house and the last payments are coming out of escrow. They asked me how the escrow company was going to pay them. They should have known that Wells Fargo tells the escrow company how to pay them. duh. There's more but you get the idea.

This has got to be the most annoying call I have ever received. There is no one there when I pick up the phone. If there is someone on the other end the caller is quite rude and not willing to extend the same courteous and listen to what I am trying to explain.

This is a business phone that is receiving multiple calls a day from this 800 number, as well as from 515-221-5645.  Both numbers have been identified as Wells Fargo but there is never anyone on the other line when answered.

There are messages that come from this number that are legitimate, but I have reason to believe that there are some which are not.  There are times when I have just spoken to WF HE and assured that my payments were processed and calls continue to come from what appears to be this number -- but I think it's caller ID spoofing.  Companies like Asset Acceptance are skimming the boarder of what's legal -- and they have been called on it in court -- but the business is too profitable for them to stop.  In order to collect on old or already-resolved debt that they have bought for as little as $25, they will harass people whose names are similar to those on their list until somebody caves to pay them.  If they can extort $50 out of you by making you think they'll stop calling -- they've made their money.  The reason that I suspect them is that they've been calling me for _years_ asking for some guy named Sergio -- and asking what my name is -- as though I'm going to volunteer for their harassment: I know they'll just record my name as one of his aliases if they get it.  And within moments of the fake WF call, I'll receive one from Asset Acceptance.  I have business with WF, so the last thing I need is a third party confusing it.  There is also a legitimate company called "Nuance" making calls, but I'm very sure that Asset Acceptance is forging those calls by putting "New Once" on their caller ID.  I'm sure they forge other caller IDs in order to force compliance with their bogus demands.  If they could get a judgement on me, they'd have had it years ago.

they called me on my land phone from another # originally last Sept on an expired Wachovia school loan that was expired, they had bought out Wachovia..expired equals uncollectable unless they can fool you into paying on it...I think that should be illegal also...the caller lied and tried to tell me I had paid an interest payment on such and such date, so I still had to pay...I knew better, and told him so!!! and having never had a cell phone before, I didn't realize this 800 number was even in my cell phone memory!!...I was only useing my cell to call family and freinds long distance and recieving calls on my land line only, and rarely rarely giving the cell anyone, certainly not any business that is on my credit report...both of my phones are on the 'Do Not Call" list...
..well you can all call the FTC and report this, and when you call, ask them what other agency Federal and State that you can report this to...also if 2 different agencies can recieve the same complaint, just put both agencies on the same complaint and send the same complaint to both!! Advice from a FTC Agent!!!
and if any of the following apply; Congress passed the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (?TCPA?), 47 U.S.C. §227, to curtail the use of automated dialers and prerecorded messages to cell phones without the permission of the consumer. Notwithstanding the passage of the TCPA, many businesses have harassed consumers by placing literally dozens and sometimes hundreds of telephone calls to cell phones.
On May 11, 2012, the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit issued an opinion in the case of Teresa Soppet v. Enhanced Recovery Company, LLC. In the litigation, the Plaintiffs sued a debt collector attempting to collect a telephone bill from a third party. Plaintiffs sued Defendant for Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per telephone call and One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) per telephone call if willful.
In response to the lawsuit, Enhanced Recovery Company asserted that it was not liable under the TCPA because it had consent from the party the debt collector intended to call ? the actual customer of AT&T. In rejecting the argument of Enhanced Recovery Company, the 7th Circuit recognized that Plaintiffs are entitled to protection under the TCPA as they were the ?called party? under the meaning of the TCPA.
Check for an Attorney in your area at NACA online..to sue! some Attornys help with cell phone issues and Banks!!!
And...File a complaint with the FCC at
https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action?form_type=1088G
And Expired Debt can be in as little as 3 Years and as long as 10 years for Credit Cards, call your state to find out, can also check Kevin Trudeau's 'Debt Cures"
And can also file a complaint in the state the business is located in- their Consumer Complaint or State Attorney's Office...each state is a little different...give them hell, keep copies in an email to yourself or in a file ... Or both!!

They are driving me crazy.. They call me at work and I specifically told them not to as I will get in trouble.  I even gave them a different number to call, yet they keep calling me while I'm at work.. I told them if they keep calling me at work and I get fired, they will never get any money.  They don't get the hint..I block them now, if they don't like oh well.  I don't have to use them for my mortgage, but we chose them and I would think I have that right to tell when they can and can't call..  Anyway they have been paid, but they still harass me..Ugh!
