This dip stick called to say I had to call 800 944 5047 by 8:00 PM to "discuss my options" no name, no company no reference to what "my options" were in regards to! A scam!!

"Cynthia" just called trying to reach someone with the same last name as me. No relative of mine. That's when I found this site. Her number is ext. 77205. I didn't call back, of course.

No idea where they got my number from, they are calling leaving a message mentioning my name and saying they are trying to get hold of my son but are actually looking for his friend and the mother of his friend and it was about their Nissan Versa?! I called back and it is impossible to speak with this guy Rick! He is not listening told him to stop harrasting us. This is redicioulos what people are doing to get hold of someone!

I got a call from this number. It is Americredit an auto loan company and they were looking for my sister-in-law and they said she used me as reference.

If your getting phone calls from this department inside Americredit, I suggest you call them to make arrangements to pay for your car! If someone listed you as a reference, you will be getting calls! Trust me, they towed my car and I payed a hefty price getting my car back! Don't play around with these people!

Called and said my friend used me as a personal reference and could she call them back and left the phone number and extension to call her at. Also, they blocked their number on my phone, so I didn't answer. they left a message

The caller identifies herself as Dolly, and says that my name was given as a character reference for a certain person.  One night she called at 9:45p.m. claiming that she was at the doctor's office with the person she is always trying to contact, and they needed verification from me.  Dolly has given the reigns to Dawn who has the same story.  This is harrasment, and I want it stopped.

Received 2 calls on my cell from a blocked number. Voice mail was "Rick" at GM Financial 1 800 944-5047 looking for somebody I know. I called the number and was informed Americredit was bought out by GM financial. Mult hits on net about sale, and checked with friend they were trying to reach. This is legit.

Received a call from this number as well.  Number comes up as "blocked".  They did leave a message however,  The caller does not identify themselves.  Says that I was listed as a referece and asked if I would call back and ask for extention 77206.  I did not call back after reading these posts.  Sounds fishy to me.

We have been recieving calls from this 1.800.944.5047 saying that we were listed as a reference for someone we know well.  Turns out they are some shady finance company who are apparently trying to track our friends down.  Pretty messed up!  They call several times a week.  I wonder how they got our number in the first place.

This number keeps calling me and I told them 3 times that I am not the person they are looking, but they still keep calling me with different number, which are 317-322-3621, 480-281-9546, 888-799-8009, 480-281-9631, 480-281-9100.

Got a message from Charlene w/ Americredit Financial asking me to call her back at this number, extension 77209, but she didn't say why. We don't have any business with them, so I don't see a need to call her back, especially after reviewing the posts here.

I just got a call from Josh at that number looking for my friend.  She and I don't even live in the same state!  She did not give anyone my number so don't tell these people anything!

Keep calling asking for a long forgotten family member.  Call 4-5 times a week for the last 6 months.  I've tried everything.  I told then last time to put in their "notes" that the next call I get from them will result in a very long session of cussing.  Two days later, another call - I did exactly what I promissed.  I I told the guy he could F^^^^^^^ himself, just like the NOTES said I would.  No calls since, but I'm ready!

They called saying I was a reference for someone (I don't even know the person) and said to call them back immediately. They've called me numerous times. They are beyong annoying!

I would like to hire an attorney for harassment. These people keep on calling me and will not let me speak to a supervisor. They are calling me about a person named kelly, someone I do not know and will not stop calling me or my mother.

This number belongs to Americredit. They are a finance company for car loans and stuff like that.

I just received a call from this place...referred to me as "friend of"....I am wondering whether to call the person they were referring to or?

Same thing happened to me.  Keep this thread going as it can be used as evidence in a Class Action suit.  I am in California. They are harassing people and must be stopped.  This is the second message they left on my cell phone within a few weeks.

Caller left a message saying my name was listed as a reference (for a friend I don't see very often) and for me to call back.  Mistake number one: my distant friend does NOT have my home number.  Mistake number two: they referred to my friend by their maden name.  I've heard they are pulling friends names from FaceBook and harassing friends of people they are trying to collect debt from.

They may be tyerrorists trying to get info from unsuspecting citizens!!! We need to contact The FBI and put a stop to this crazy company and their employees from calling citizens and put them out of business!!
