I just got a summons in the mail with them listed as the contact.  The problem is, the listed "plantiff" is a company I have never heard of or dealt with.  It's a rental company 150 miles away!  We have rented 2 apartments in the last 10 years and both were from people we knew.  WTF?

I know how you feel I was there about a year ago! they froze my bank account and demanded 2500 to unfreeze the account. They must think there are stupid people out their. If you are on any types of government benefits or received any type of unlawful tactics that they use to on you i would recommend the mn general attorney office. They helped me with the situation and believe me in a week my money was put in the bank asap and not only that the mn general office attorney was helpful and they talked to riverview most of the time so you dont have to deal with them. Amazing how you can get them to back off once you get the state attorney on their azz.

I woke up this morning to find that my bank account was in the red and after some calls was informed that my account had been frozen.  My question is why would Riverside go straight to my account without garnishing my wages first?  All for a measly $650.00.

I keep getting calls from this number and I just got this number.  I just moved here.. I don't know why a collection company here would be calling me. Unless they are trying to reach who ever had the number last but they never leave a message and I dont pick up calls I dont know.  I am about to call them and tell them to stop harrassing me, they have the wrong number.

they are plain rude. I have sent a complaint to the state attorney about them and also they will not negotiate anything with you except make you pay more for what you dont owe. Brianna is a bi*** and the rest of the crew there are d****heads that dont give a s*** about others. They are worthless and thats all they can do to people who cant fight back. I will not back down and will fight back.

I had some calls from Richard about medical bills from 3 years ago that was never billed to my insurance.

This company harassed me for the past year saying that that its too late to bill my insurance and they sent

me a bunch garnishment letters. Well being I have no bank accounts anywhere, they have no idea where I

work and the only thing to my name is a 86 s10 that I paid 50 bucks for they couldn't garnish anything. These

people even called my mom trying to harass me. Well long story short I called the Att gen office and they told

be to send a short sweet letter by certified mail stating that I disagree with the bill and why and that they were

no longer allowed to contact me by phone or I was going to get a real lawyer involved. I just got a letter today

saying that they talked the company that I owe and they agreed to dismiss the debt. I think it's over now but it

wasn't fun dealing with these people. Look into it though, they are breaking a ton of laws they aren't allowed

to say they are from a law office or even call you be for 8am or after 9pm. They can't call your family or even

call you if you tell them to stop. But if you don't fight it the will take everything the can from you.

I would be very skeptical of any dealings with Riverview Law Office. Their practices are very unethical, as is their staff. I have already filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office, BBB, and The Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility. They attempt to recollect on garnishments that they have already collected on by using various names.

I have been with my doctor for years and many thousand of dollars have been paid to him.
I recenly lost a job of 25 years and could not afford my dr. bill that was lower than $200.00
I had spoken with my doctor and he stated to pay what I could.
This bill ended up in these jokers hands (whoever they are) if they think I'm afraid of "Judgements" then they are wasting their money, as time passes so does the "Judgment".
I will be contacting my doctor about the practices of this collection agency that is actually a law firm that is hiding behind a couple of different names.
Oh and I have told my doctor about this "Firms" practices and the names that are associated with it.

Don't be scared...if you are unemployed that can't take anything that you don't have. Go to court, we did and now we get to tell our side of the story...you can always offer a settlement agreement, but if you have nothing they can't take anything!

I got a summons to appear in cort in Wisconsin. The collection was for a medical bill. I have got letters and many phone calls from them. I'm not employed right now and have been out of work for a year. Now I have a judgement against me. I'm scared! I've never been in jail and don't have a criminal record. I don't know what to do! Help.

Ryan --

They have no legal right to take your wife's retirement especially if they didn't have a judgement.  There is information that can help.

I received a letter from River View Law Office,PPLC of Sauk Rapids,MN I checked The Sauk Rapids white pages and yellow pages and I went as far as to find if it was an existing Law Firm no results.I also left a message with the Sauk Rapids Police Dept. about this law firm to call me back and i will ask them to investigate this firm. I called 411 for this law firm and when they connected me there was no answer identified that this was River View Law Office. So with that I am Going to contact the attorney general of Minnesota and relay all this information. If this is someone trying to extort money out of people's pocket's then shame on them.

I had run in with Richard D Seierstad, His Office Represents J.C.Christians & Associates ( Collection Agency ).He Is A Third Party Collection!!!  Please Note , He Is For Real. Research The  Creditor And Ask Them For The Records That They Sent To Collections And They Will Send You The Information By Mail. Then Check The Information Against Your Records. Beware Richard Works Fast. He Gave Me Thirty Days To Reply And Within Two Weeks After Thirty Days He Filed A Law Suit.

In Ending , His Information Was Correct, I Lost.

I have received a couple of the fake summons, but they sent one to my work, and it had a check for $15 from Richard D Seierstad General Account with it.  I called our payroll company, and they were very concerned that once that check is cashed, the bank account information is on there, and they will garnish any account they can.  Once the check is cashed, it is giving permission to move ahead.  Like the phone companies that would send out checks in the mail, and once you cashed them, it signed you up for the service.   This guy is shady.  Also, in the letters, he refers to statutes, which are all repealed by the State of MN for MN debtors.  Also, this gets better. Every phone number, is different for this guy.  And there was a phone number on the check, which is a Sartell MN number, unlisted.  There is no listing that I could find on the MN SoS office website search, however, there is a collection agency named JC Christensen & Associates in Sartell MN.  He may be associated with this company as the numbers seem to be interchanged between the two.

The "summons" received was not an official summons. It was replicated to appear like the real thing. A real summons will always have a case number. D Lee sounds like someone that works for Richard, sorry, I mean DICK, and is trying to scare you.

Do people here really think a Summons is fake?  Or somebody could get away for years sending out fake ones?  All of the information and hints posted here are worthless.  I suggest anybody who disagrees take a trip over to the State of MN revisor of statutes website.  The section you will want to study is "creditors remedies".  It details how a lawsuit is started in MN, it will detail how your wages can be garnished without the Summons being filed with the Court.

And for all you people so inclined that the Summons be filed with the Court right away, keep in mind that will add on about $500 in legal costs that will be ADDED to the amount the creditor garnishes from you.  Yes costs and disbursements in the action are added to your bill.
