I got a few calls from 1-800-960-9976 and there were no messages after these calls. Who or what is this?

They are not covered by the DO NOT CALL list because they work for non-profits.  There is little we can do about these scuds.  If you're home, and have the time, talk to them--keep them on the line and lead them on for as long as possible.  Time is money for them.  Find out the name of the nonprofit and call them direct.  Refuse to donate to them.

Called the Share group, chewed them out.  They seem to be sensitive to the problem, but we'll see.

My guess is that they have a computer dialing somewhere and never getting hooked up to operators.

I called the Phoenix office at 602.680.1836, and selected x241.  She was very helpful.

I suggest you do the same.

If these calls are from "progressive political campaigns and nonprofit organizations", then they are not being effective fund raisers.  More likely these calls are from a Republican group that is attempting to irritate potential Democratic voters.

If you call it back, you reach an automated message for The Share Group, which works for "progressive political campaigns and nonprofit organizations which seek to make our world a better place." It says they are calling you at the request of one of their political or nonprofit clients that you have supported in the past (which is why they have your phone number). The message also reminds you that nonprofits are exempt from the national Do-Not-Call registry.

You can leave a message/request with The Share Group if you call this number back.

I receive several calls a day from this number. They leave no message. This has been going on for several weeks.

The share group calls at least once a day from a number of different numbers. I wonder what the consequences are if I report them because I am on the do not call list.
