Received a letter from "Dealer Warranty Program SPD" asking me to call 877-728-6043 or 800-981-5097 for Spanish speaking people. They had my name and the model of the car. Both probably taken from public records.

While do not know anything about their company, I do know they send junk mail and I do not do any business with spammers.

Their address:

Yes  3 months ago  I got the Phone calls ( 4 in a week )and a letter in the mail for an old car I sold 6 month ago and I called the dealership I used -  traded the car into and they said it was scam and the info is bought from the  BMV in OHio.  Now I am getting mail for the new car and 08 -  and they want to sell me an extended 6 year or 100,000 miles.  When I called Gavin - the Manager advised me that he gets the info from thousands of different places = they could not tell me who gave them the info.  I requested to be removed from the database or I would get a lawyer and go after them for harassment.  He started to laugh  - HE DOES NOT KNOW ME AND HOW FAR I WILL GO WHEN I SAY WILL  - THEN I WILL.

This place is a warranty broker that buys the info from DMV's, Insurance co's. etc... I got the letter for my trailblazer that we have had for 14 months, lived at the same aadress the whole time and they say 2 months.  I work in the extended warranty industry selling these, and I cannot belive the tactics of some.  Google US Fidelis (the one that advertises on TV) they are in a classa ction suit from the state of MO, have over 1000 BBB complainrs, and have had to change thier name 3 times in 2 years.  This company does the same stuff.  If you really want a warranty for your car, do not buy it from someone you did not ask for a quoter from yourself and do a lot of research on the company! Protect yourself from these fraudulent companies that are here today and gone tomorrow.

Between the phone calls and the junk mail, this company needs to go broke and permanently close their doors. They are totally incompetent and refuse to listen to people. I wonder if someone will get tired of their abusive behaiour and bomb the place? I wouldn't lose any sleep if it happened.

I too received such a letter and true, there is no rate detail given in the letter. They want me to call them up. However, I am very sure that I will get into a mess if I call up. If it had been a genuine company, it wouldn't have sent junk mails. And yes, DMV sells vehicle information to many companies. Thats how we get all the junk in our mail box. 50% of businesses in America are rip offs. I don't know how law allows such companies to flourish!! Besides, if you get into a mess and complain to BBB, they too won't help you. It is system made to benefit all the stake holders like government, DMV, postal service, telephone co., law co. and the rip off co. The citizens are the losers. If the BBB had been doing actually doing any work, there wouldn't be so many rip offs and there wouldn't be so many people writing reviews online!

Got the same letter a couple of days ago on our 2003 Lexus RX300 saying we purchased it "1 month ago".  We've had it since 2005 but just moved to Texas in Feb. and they may have got the records from when we had the vehicle inspection and changed the plates.  Previous to this we had been receiving calls from an 800 # saying "the factory warranty on your vehicle is about to expire".  They finally stopped calling, then came this letter.  Can't imagine Lexus has anything to do with any of this.  Sounds like someone has found a way to make money off anyone naive enough to fall for any of this.

Actually no call, but wanted to search the number - Got a letter in the mail with no return address. Inside it looks like a "Service Protection Program" for a vehicle, but no manufacturer.... it says to call the 800 number to get details on how to extend the vehicle warranty. Makes it sound like we should call "right away" to take advantage of this offer. No pricing, no details on coverage. Offers "free" roadside assistance and "special financing". Very fishy.
