Got this call today. Now they are saying a cc payment was declined for a "Baron's Acct." of course the Owner/Operator of the business isn't here so i just listened to the message as 'this isn't a good time' and didn't 'press 1' to speak with the operator, took the number down as a message, and told the Owner about it when he called to check in. No one here has an account with Baron's.

Voice mail said my credit card had been declined. I don't have a subscription to the Wall Street and never pay subscriptions by credit card. Go figure...

This number keeps calling my elderly mother and "demanding" a credit card number mto continue her WSJ subscription.  Trouble is she pays for it by check every year, but since they have been so huffy and impolite on the phone will probably discontinue it. My later father whoi died two years ago read it cover to cover every day.

Well I am a subscriber and my credit card number did change, and I received this number in an email from Wall Street Journal that had the subscription recipient's name correct (not mine). I am pretty sure this is the legit number.

Companies lose their customer databases pretty regularly these days though, so I will be calling the number from their site to update my account.

That's a scam trying to get your credit card number. I received the same phone call too.

If you have the WSJ just go to wsj.com and change your credit card info if you're an online subscriber or just call them directly (the number is on the website).  That way you don't have to worry about getting scammed.

Same deal for me: This number (800-875-2212) is calling and leaving a voice message that says the bank would not authorize a credit card payment for the Wall Street Journal and asks me to call back. I dont know if i should call back..I am a subscriber for the wall street journal.

I am a Wall Street subscriber, but this number is probably a scam, as the Wall Street Journal customer contact number is 1-800-568-7625.  You can look it up at www.wsj.com.

While this may be annoying, it is not a scam.  Go to Wall Street Journal online and call the customer service number.

I receive 3-4 calls from this number daily, and they sometimes leave voice mails looking for a credit card update for a subscription (which I do not have).  I normally do not answer; today I decided to answer and was told (by a computer) to dial 0 to speak to a representative.  I did, and got dead-ish air for 2 minutes before I hung up.  I dialed the 3, and got to leave THEM a voice mail.  I did, saying that I had never subscribed to them, and to stop calling my number.  Guess what?  They called again 5 minutes later.

Yeah, it's the WSJ. I'm a subscriber and my subscription is about to expire. If you don't subscribe, my guess is that someone who does gave them your number by accident. They probably have a similar number.
