I keep getting a call from this number.  I Googled it and it is Trendwest Resorts, Inc.  One of those dumb timeshare/vacation package companies.  Why they are calling my cell I don't know.

It is illegal for a debt collector to call a cell phone provided they know it is a cell phone.  This is because a debt collector can't knowingly cost you money while attempting to collect a debt by using cell minutes which are paid for.  This company however is not a debt collector, they are, as mentioned, a timeshare company. I simply called them back at the same number and threatened harrassment charges if my name and number were not removed immediately. They complied.  For me it was Windham resorts, spelling may be off slightly, but it is the same number, so apparently the same company. They hooked my number from a Sportsmans Expo where I signed up to win a vacation, yea I know, dumbass...  Anyway they called initially stating I had won something, yada, yada, yada.

Thier first call happened at 9:30 on a saturday, but I was asleep and just hung up.  Their next call was saturday a little before noon.  The gall said I had won trips to Vegas or Orlando, and they received my number from a ticket I filled out for a Cinemark theatre prize.  I haven't filled out any tickets for trips.  She started to try and get information from me starting with my age.  Told them I wasn't 21 one and they left me alone.

They keep calling me.  They just so happen to call when I am busy or on the other line.  I am going to just answer the next time they call and ask to stop calling.  Has anyone had any luck doing that?

I got a call from this number. It's for a raffle i filled out at the mall. They said i actually did wina trip you just have to sit through a presentation, like timeshare or something but they said there es no purchase necessary, so all in all if you want the trip you just have to sit through a video and them asking you if you are interested inbuying just tell them  no and get your trip!!!

I was called by this number as well. It was an offer to get gas money if I listened to a vacation pitch. I did it and walked away with $50 in gas money. Well worth it for me. It's a pretty good vacation package as well. I can't afford right now but I probably will one day. Call them and they will book you to go get your gas money for 90 minutes.

It is a Timeshare seminar thing.  They give you free prizes and try to get you to buy Timeshares.  It is run by World Mark by Wyndham formerly TrendWest.  They normally offer a free vacation which is legit but more hassle than it is worth to redeem.  Timeshares are also legit but definitely not for everyone.  Always read fine print and if you are going to the meeting for the freebies always push for cash or giftcards that have no strings attached and remember if it ever makes you uncomfortable being in the meeting leave immediately.

I received two calls today from this number and apparently I won 1 of 2 prizes.  Either a trip to Anaheim or a $100 gift certificate to Olive Garden or Red Lobster.  They said that I entered at a Bees game.  After thinking about it, I remembered I did!  Well lucky for me I kept the "swipe it" card they gave for me to use.  The lady said that there were 52 people they were calling to award this prize to.  It just seems too good to be true.  And if any of you watch 2 News, you know that Ghepardt would say "Don't do it!"

I think that it is funny how all of us "won" a free trip...such a stupid sceme...I put a raffle ticket to win a car which I bet no one wins at all but wins a life time of calls from this company.  I'm in Tucson Arizona.

I just got back from a free trip to Las Vegas that WorldMark gave me for going to their timeshare b***s***.  I filled out a stupid sweepstakes at a movie theater and these guys called me about a trip to Las Vegas and Orlando.

IT'S WORTH THE 30 MIN PRESENTATION FOR A FREE TRIP TO VEGAS!!!!!

They called me too. It was about a sweepstakes thing as well. Apparently i won a trip to Las Vegas. I do recall filling somehting out in the past though. To be honest it will probably end up being a time share sceme or somehting if that nature. The lady i talked to was informative though, I got a name and and address of the business. Seems kinda legit but maybe a scam as well. we'll see, ill know more later on Friday the 16th.

This number has been calling me this week, and i usually just wait for a voicemail if i don't know the number. So i googled the number, then read these, and i decided to call them back. I said hey i have a missed phone call from you guys I'm trying to figure out what you are calling for. They redirected me to a girl that said i filled out a form at a mall or movie theatre, and that i won a gift package. She said i get to go to san diego or vegas air fare paid round trip, gift card to dillards the whole shabang. so i asked her what is the catch? she said that there is no catch that i just have to drive to st. george to pick it up. she gave me the exact address what exit everything. i double checked a few times, asking what i have to sign up for etc. so i told her i could come pick it up in a couple weeks. then she verified my age, and i'm not old enough. she said i have to be 21. im only 20, so she said i could pass it along to a friend or whatever. then she asked if i knew someone that would like it. and i told her yeah definitely, then she said who i told her my mom and dad probably, then she said to give them a call and see if they would be willing to go get it. she gave me her toll free number and personal ext. i mapquested the address and place. it is Worldmark By Wyndham. they book vacations. and on the phone she told me the point of this is basically advertisement they give out the vacations in order to put out a good impression, that they book the best vacations whatever and then it's supposed to travel by word of mouth, so then people will eventually book with them. everybody on here has assumed it is a scam and not looked up really anything on them. so im just sayin you really dont know if it is a scam until you find out for yourself. in all probability it probably is a scam, but i did enter a contest at the movie theatre here cuz i always fill those little things out wherever i go. so i know i filled it out. i think it could be true and if it is someone is gonna get a vacation. anyways im gonna talk someone that i know that is 21 into going down and finding out if this is legitimate or not, cuz im very curious.

They called me on my cell phone while I was on the computer listening to music, so I missed the call.  The number was an 801 number (from Utah, where I live) so I called back thinking it might be a relative, and someone answered.  I was forwarded to a girl who said my name was drawn out from a form I filled out at a mall or theater.  I hadn't filled anything out, and usually I don't because you have to be 18 to do it (I'm 17).  This girl (Karen I think was her name, but I can't remember exactly) looked up my name and said I was drawn out for a vacation for two to either Anaheim or Las Vegas, where they "would pay for round-trip airfare and a hotel".  Then she started asking me about personal info and said my form mentions I didn't fill in my "spouse's name". She then asked if I was married or engaged at all, and I told her I was only 17.  Apparently you have to be 21 to receive the trip, so she asked if I'd like to pass it to a friend or family member.  She asked me to call her back after I mentioned I'd talk to my mom about it, but I came to look up the number before I made the call.  I'm glad I did, these guys should be messed with and freaked out of their wits.  That "FBI telephone investigations center" bit is hilarious.  Let's bring em down.

this number is dealing with vacation timeshare, if you put your name in for a 4x4 atv at your local movie theater then most likely it is Wyndham resorts calling you back

probably the best answer is from Scuba_Man; I actually did fill out a raffle ticket at a movie theatre, and in fact in the same center as this theatre is a place, lo and behold, called Winmark by Wyndham, which is what the answering machine states if you call back and don't get a rep.
