This just happened to me.  A Stephanie answered the phone

I got a call from this number it was an automated voice saying my hsbc master card was locked. i do not have an account with them. I called the HSBC number (NOT THE NUMBER THE PHONE CALL GAVE ME)  and they told me it was a Phishing scam where when you call the number and they ask for your account information they steal it. THEY ARE NOT ASSOCIATED with HSBC. and she also said there using other major banks. DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER THEY GIVE or give them ANY INFORMATION. always call the number on the back of your card, or  the banks customer service number. she also said these people are sending e-mails to people about the same thing.

Got a call from this number with a computerized female recording saying that she regretted to inform me that my HSBC debit Mastercard had been blocked, and to call a certain 800 number or press 1 to connect to an operator. The 800 number went to an unsuspecting business, and calling (801) 486-9362 back gave me a busy signal.

6/29/2011 I got a call from     801-486-9362 no was message left, Thanks for the info about the scam... I won't bother to return the call We know nobody in  Saltlake Utah.

THey called me, but I did not believe it to be true.

If I can add, they didn't leave a message either so there's no way they can be "legit" of any sort.

Got one of these too, but on my cell phone (which I don't give out), so it must be a scam.  I also do not live in Utah and never have.

I recieved a call from them a few minutes ago, They said my debit card was lost. I tried calling them back and all I get is a busy tone..

Was called 2x's by this number. Second time it came up as Blocked. Recording said it was Utah Credit Union, and Debit card was cancelled and needed to be re-activated! Only one number choice to press! Total SCAM!Beware!
