How can we get this 'monbarry@gmail.com' caught?

same person jus contacted us about an iphone willing to pay 60 more dollars to ship it to africa for her daughter an its a good thing for google she claims too be in the hospital but was persistent on getting our paypal info and would not give anymore info too us thank you google this is a scam do not do it...

this woman is using a new first name and its monica barry and email address goes monbarry@gmail.com do not send anything, thank god our postal services stopped us....

Posted a laptop in Bismanonline. Got the same text about the b-day gift and the daughter, etc. Told her was cash only and I could not ship it anywhere. (i'd been reading all these posts as her and I were going back and to via text). Then I got the kidney surgery line. My response: "LOL no favors. Sorry about your surgery lasting for so many months now. Maybe find someone else to scam. I googled your number and knew about your kidney surgery. Lemme guess...you want my paypal info and for me to send it to an embassy??? Sorry honey I am way ahead of you. Bwaaahahahahaha."

This person responded via text in regards to an add on bismanonline for a mens ring my husband & I had posted.  Said they wanted it for their daughter's bday as a gift.  I asked if they were local they claimed to be from Fargo which is 2 or 3 hrs away. They said they were in the hospital for kidney surgery but would be back in 2 wks.  Said could you do a favor and wright happy bday from mom on the package asked for it to be shipped offered to pay extra for shipping. I said we were not working with paypal nor sending items out. They responded back saying their name is monica they are 60yrs old and paypal is very secured. I believe it is a scam as well especially after reading all of these.

My daughter is trying to sell jewelry and she got a texted message from that number stating they were in the hopsital and wanted to buy it for their daughter as it would make a wonderful birthday present...when replied back my daughter said it was reported to the local authorities and no response back.... .SCAM

Posted an expensive DSLR camera on KSL classifieds and started getting texts from this #.  They indicated they would buy the camera for full price.  I replied telling the person my phone cannot send out text messages but I can read them, and so I prefer a phone call.  I kept getting texts and so I googled the # and found many posts indicating it was a scammer.  Immediately after leaving a voice message at the # that I was turning them in I called it back and got the recording that it was disconnected.
I am glad I checked out this malicious persons #.

well i posted on KSL and within minutes i received a text from someone who claimed that they would pay me exactly what i was asking for on my listing, that was the first red flag so i requested that they call and set up a time to meet and that i would only accept cash as payment in my message, have not heard from anything since then, second red flag, so i got on google since it was a google number that i texted and called to leave messages to see what was up and wow can you believe it, what a scam they have going on, thanks to all for your stories of what you have been through, what a bunch of crap, that people would try to rip honest hard working people off so that they can live, thumbs up to all of you

Seems like our friend is still on the loose. Had a laptop for sale and just got a few texts. Similar story, except that there's no mention of Africa this time. Again Paypal, she's in the hospital, wants me to ship it with a note Happy Birthday from mom, etc. I'm happy I checked this post.
So pretty much he/she is using http://republicwireless.com. It allows customers get a salt lake city number and they can call or text anywhere in the world as long as they have wifi. Way to go!
It's sad that after 1 year, no one has caught this person. I will report directly to the provider this time so they can stop all accounts associated with that person.

LOL.. this woman has been in the hospital for Kidney surgery for about 8 months!!  Some people are just horrible.

Received text messages from this number wanting to purchase a camera I had listed on KSL. Insisted that I set up a pay pal account so that she "Monica" could send me the money right now, asking that I ship the camera with a B-Day note.  She went into this story about how she was buying this as a B-Day gift for her daughter but she was hospitalized for 2 weeks due to kidney surgery.  Very persistent!!!

Just received this text message after listing a Notebook on KSL...i'm buying this for my daughter as a birthday gift present.. i believe it will make a wonderful birthday gift.. all you will do for me is to write a short note inside the package...

Same thing selling my PSP she texted me saying she was having kidney surgery and all i had to do was send a happy birthday note to her daughter. I told her off cause this is the second time, the first time was his daughter working for the american empassy in africa, and after i told him i didnt have a pay pal account he asked for my bank account which i didnt give to him.

Yea same old story her son was working in africa or some crap, so open a paypal account and than has the nerve to get on my case about her being 60 years old ... and having kidney failure in a hospital somewhere... completly dumb mine were all texts

texted by this number regarding an XL1S that I'm trying to sell.  SCAM.

I also posted one of my used cellphones on bisman, and recieved texts from Gloria Barry...basically the same story, she wanted me to ship the phone to her daughter in Nigeria, thank god a worker at the local postal service warned me against the scam!

Yep, Good old GLORIA tried her scummy scammy wiles on me too.   Tried to "buy" some jewelry I have for sale (not craig's list) - same old song about her daughter being in Africa - birthday- blah blah blah.  Told her I knew what she was up to (in an email) and reported her.  2 days later she asks the same thing about 2 other pieces of jewelry I have for sale - good grief, give it up already.  SCAM SCUM.

Also had the same issue today.  Told me a sob story about a daughter in Africa and was willing to pay 100 above asking price.  Asked for my Paypal account also.  Beware!

Same spiel.  Listed an iPod touch and person from this number and added $70 to the price to ship to daughter in West Africa.

Bismanonline.com - Quote of text - "Thanks for the reply.Actually want to purchase it for my son that is currently in West Africa working with American Embassy,his birthday is coming up next Friday,so i want to buy a surprise gift for him.Please if you do have a PayPal account,provide it to me so that I will Make the payment. I will be paying you the total of $230 for both the cost price and the shipping.It is so unfortunate that". (It stopped there)

I had the exact same experience with her yesterday...immediately after placing two items for sale on BisManOnline. She texted me and said she wanted both items for her daughter's b-day and needed them sent to West Africa and would pay through PayPal. After telling her that I would not give her my PayPal information and  that she should send the money through Western Union, of course she had more excuses. and tried to play the pity card about her being a sick 60 year old mother and told me I should just trust her...

I am selling my Galaxy Tab and i got a text saying they want to buy it. They told me they are getting a surgery for their kidney. And about 3 months ago I was selling a couple PSP's and they told to me to ship it to West Africa to her daughter that is working with the American Embassy, and that she will pay via PayPal. Also, she offered $100 more than what I was asking, so this time, I took a precaution!!

This person responded to a post I had listed for selling a wedding ring.Stated that their daughter was working in Africa and working at the American embassy.  Stated that the daughter's b-day was next friday and wanted to get her a gift.  Says wanted to use paypal.

I posted my tablet for sale on bismanonline.com and shortly after got a text from this number wanting to know my firm price.  I engaged in conversation with the lady.  She told me she wanted to buy the tablet for her daughter's birthday which is next friday and that she would send me $70 more than what i wanted for shipping. That was my first red flag.  She wanted to pay by paypal. I told her I didn't have an account (even though I do). She told me how I could set one up.  I called her out on how I thought this was SPAM.  She didn't understand how I thought it could be and told me she was a 60 year old mother and she had kidney failure and had to travel for surgery. SHe claimed she lived in Bismarck. I  unforturnately decided to give her my email address.  She supposedly has sent me the money but I am not going to send the product. I hope she has no way of getting into my money.

Beware!! Glad thing I googled this number before anything. The whole daughter working at the embassy in Africa threw me off so just decided a google check  buyer was willing to pay $45 more than the asking price to send to Africa and get my Paypal info asap

Listed a camera on Bismanonline.com, was contacted by text message, she wants to pay via paypal and have me ship the camera to her daughter in West Africa and wants to send it as a birthday gift. Glad I googled the number before send any other text messages back to her.

Did she ever send payment?
