No response when I answer, have called on three separate occasions

801-715-7984 is the number that displays for calls from AT&T Worldnet Tech Support (internet issues) - most likely from India.  Apparently, modern communications - via VOIP or satellite or cable or whatever they are using, are not perfect and there are a lot of dropped calls - it is most likely the VOIP.  Even a phone company can't get it right, yet.

I think ATT needs to stop outsourcing to India. I cancelled my ATT account and had to call them back 3 times to cancel the charges to my account that I did not use. and they will not let you speak to a supervisor and no one will call you back. if you ask if they are in the USA they will deny it. The names they give (western names) are fake. I wonder if this is a violation of USA rules? giving a fake name when asked by a customer what their name is

Call on my cell after requesting AT&T internet customer service to return my call.  When answered, no response, tried to call it back and phone said it was rejected.Caller: possibly AT&T. I have been waiting for a call from them. about billing and renew . I think thay just dont care if thay loose you as a customer. Knowing  At&t the supervisor dials your number and hangs up! Then logs as he tried to call so thay can get out of trying to resolve your problem. as I said thay dont care at the old AT&T. there call center is in india!! The new AT&T /SBC center is in america and you do talk to a american. But there hands are tied when it comes to the old AT&T.

It seems that 801-715-7984 is the phone number that displays when you get a call from AT&T DSL tech support (worldnet.att.net) - this one originated in India, regardless of what the actual phone number is - many companies do this as they use a common pool of phone lines and don't have direct dial - the number displayed would be useless in trying to call someone specific back.

My caller finally called back at 1:42PM PDT and this time the connection was OK and I got my problem solved.

I just received a call from 801-715-7984 on my cell 12:32 PM PDT. No response when I answered.

I got a call from this same number, on my landline, and it also hung up when I answered. Later another call came, and it seemed to hang up before I answered.

I'm also supposed to get a call from a supervisor at AT&T to try to solve a billing problem that phone support couldn't manage. I don't know what made the poster above think that the call was from AT&T, but the fact that I was supposed to get such a call makes it seem likely.

just received a call from 801-715-7984 on my cell.  I gave AT&T WorldNet (DSL internet service) my cell number yesterday and a supervisor was to call me back about the big mess up with their billings since the merge.  The call disconnected as soon as I answered it. Not supprised.   I bet it was them.
