Event Reminder
The number is legit.  It's for Investools / TD Ameritrade and in my case was from my Educational Counselor seeing if I wanted to go to an upcoming free (for me) advanced workshop (yes, they were looking out for me in case I didn't see them coming on their workshop schedule).

Investing is not for everyone, but if you do want to learn about it, Investools is pretty good.  Having been through investools, I can now also tell the good companies from the bad!  They actually teach you how to trade which does take work and discipline.

But if you're willing, you can do well.  But it's up to you.  It's not magic and it won't do it for you.  The subscriptions are for their toolbox, which if you don't want, don't get it after your subscription ends, but in my opinion, the toolbox is the best in the business telling me in seconds what might take another investor hours to find.   Everything from financials, to industry info, to insider trading, etc.

If you're not interested, don't answer the call.  But if you are, it's well worth the investment.

I recently attended an Invest Tools seminar.  If this is a follow up then why don't they stay on the phone and talk.  Instead they hang up immediately.  I am beginning to think they are paying telemarketers by the number of calls they make.  Simple math says that you can make more calls by hanging up  immediately and go on to the next call (more calls made per shift).  The telemarketers can always claim that we hung up on them!!!

Have called several times, at least three times in the past 8 hours.  If we were interested, we would call them.  I know it's Investools; quit bugging us.

I have been receiving calls from this number looking for a Gerry.  Lets be very clear I do not share my number with anyone it is in just my name and I'm the only one using it, and I have never shared a residence with anyone named Gerry.  I inform them of this and they just keep calling and calling.  Now they call and hang up.  Which a debt collections agency's way of tricks.  See they are trying to get a man to answer the phone and when they get a woman they just hang up.  I'm pretty sure it is a collections agency/call center but I wouldn't worry about it too much since they can't seem to get numbers right.

They slowed down their calls but they call at least once a month(got another one last night) and hang up.  I called back and told them I was in fact not Gerry or Gary or who ever and they said "we will make a note in the file".  that hasn't worked before and I don't know what to do.  THEY have the wrong number. Jerks

The Realist isn't.

I don't work for Investools, but I have been to one of their classes.  They teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses on how to invest.  They do not ignore the technical or fundamental aspects of trading, as the Realist claims.

The investools website, which I use five days a week, has good, useful information.  I only went to the one class because they seem overpriced to me and I did not like what I felt was a bit too much pressure to buy into the more expensive offerings.  Still, there's a big difference between being overpriced and a scam.

As for The Realist's comments about Investools being specifically for day traders, that's completely off base.  Investools never once recommended a particular focus for trading.  Investools provides education and TOOLS.  How a subscriber uses this resource is up to the individual.

Got a missed call from this number & a message.  When I tried to listen to the message, it only had the person hang up and no one said anything.

I've never subscribed to Investools.  Don't know how in the world they got my number.  Stop calling me, you low lives.

Got the call today, they left a message. It was from TD Ameritrade who is going to be holding seminars in the area and as a customer they had me on the list.

Nothing more to it.

Receieved a call from this number on my cell phone. There was some garbled music and then a recording of a woman talking very fast explaining a disclaimer for investtools. I hung up at that point. Obvious SPAM.

Having read the previous comments it's pretty obvious they are company shills. Who in the hell would be stupid enough to pay tens of thousands of dollars to learn how to trade stocks. If these people are so successful at day trading why are they training thousands of competitors? What's more likely that they make money using the system they teach, or they make money teaching the system?

For every person you can show me who has made money in Investools, I can show you a person who made money in Vegas.  Just because a certain percentage are successful does not mean that it's legit.  It's gambling.

Not a scam, took a while but I'm at 900 right now. Lazy people who find out they have to pay to learn and not get it free think it's a scam.

I get a giggle out of all the ignorant types slamming a system they know nothing about.  Investing takes time and effort - you get out of it what you put in.  And Investools is just that - a tool to assist an educated investor.  It's nothing more, nothing magic, and by itself won't make you rich, and if you pay attention and can think, they don't advertise it that way either.  They do, however, market their follow-on education rather aggressively, which is a bit of a turn-off.

Now, for all you "positive-posters-work-for-the-company" types, go back to your National Enquirers and let me know how JFK and Elvis are getting along in Area 51.
